Cookie loves the house and is very friendly to other people and we spend all day everyday together and she is so spoiled and I love her so much. There are also other people living in my house so she always has a buddy to hang out with. I understand why people are upset about the introduction between cheeto and cookie and I wish I would have done it differently but I just was excited for them to meet so they are familiar with each other for when cheeto comes to stay here or vise versa. They only were in the room together for a few minutes and then we went back home. I hope you know that I have the purest intentions when it comes to animals and would never purposely try to stress them out or make them feel like they are in danger. With that being said, I hear you and your comments, and next time we want to hang with cheeto it will be done so differently. This is my first time owning a cat and I’m just learning along the way. I hope you can all have an amazing day 💕💕

Funny thing is I adopted one too! Ten years ago and now she is a senior lady enjoying being the only one anyone pays attention to.. I know it sounds stupid but I named her Mama cat because a lady before me literally said I want a kitten not a "Momma Cat" I wish we could post pictures!

Sorry but I'm actually really curious as to why that is? Like do people have a personal problem with cats who were mothers or do they not wanna split up the family?? Idk I just find it really weird. My family usually only ever adopted male cats because they just agree better with our family, plus we bonded to male cats easier, but if I found a cat I loved who bonded with me so well but was also a mother then I wouldn't really have a problem adopting her. I just don't really understand.
@@samthelion3925 it's because people tend to want younger cats. They'd rather adopt the kittens than the older mother. Same reason why a cat who is 7 years old is probably going to spend more time waiting for adoption than a 1 year old.

My second cat was a girl and she was great but she hated the heck outta us. She always acted like she wished we were dead and never rescued her. Really like we got our cat from a friend because he cat got out and had babies so he wasn’t that old and he hid in our litter box almost all day because he was scared and nervous because of all the people. It takes time
When I first got my 2nd kitten she hid all the time, wouldn't eat enough and hated being pet and cuddled, about 2 weeks later, now she loves playing with our other cat, runs around, likes being pet, plays, and eats normally. cats get scared and need time to adjust, just like if you adopted a young human kid they'd probably be nervous at first
That's so frustrating to hear. A neighbor moved and had to give up their cat so they gave it to us. She hid in the closet and under the bed for a week until she slowly made her way out and started exploring the apartment. A month later she was always on my lap.

Beside the whole introducing the cats issue, I feel as though we should also praise Morgan for adopting a cat from the shelter. Often times you tubers will purchase a cat from petco or breeders, whereas with Morgan she adopted a precious cat from the shelter. Great job for that Morgan!❤️ Edit!: Sorry y'all about my lack of knowledge on Petco! I just meant it's common for people to get pets from breeders and that they should get them from shelters instead. Pro petco!
Hannah Matson Petco is actually one of the largest adoption partners for cats, dogs, and rabbits in the country! Most local Petcos give their space for free to rescue groups and give them free supplies. They also award huge grants each year. So very pro Petco!!
Hot Chocolate it’s not technically bites of affection. It means your cat is grooming you (if you watch them groom themselves you’ll see they nibble at their fur) and they see you as one of them

@@mjm3091 Orange cats have a propensity for weight problems, and they may not have really noticed Cheeto changing much. They're obviously very good about the dogs so I guarantee they will or have already been to the vet about it. Also not animal abuse. My black cat Klaudia LOVES EATING so much so that I can't feed her dry food because she eats it too fast, and throws it up, but I wasn't sure I was feeding her enough because she always acts like she's starving. Long story short, she became a sphere and then I cut back on what she was eating and bam, healthy kitty.

What Cheeto and Cookie we’re doing was normal when they met. They were trying to get to know each other and get a feel for how far they can go with each other. Cats take a couple of months to fully “love” each other. My cats took a couple of weeks to get used to each other and they still smack each other sometimes so it might take a bit for them to open up and play.
My boyfriend's mom is babysitting a cat because the owners are renovating their entire house, her cat and that cat despise eachother. It's been almost a year and they still fight, are very nervous around eachother, they act different now like destroy furniture, poop outside of the litter box, one of them doesn't let the other one go outside when the backdoor is open. They made progress (from fighting 24/7) but it's still pretty bad...
I agree, & because at Shane’s there’s also the scent of 2 dogs that probably made Cookie more anxious as well. Cats are very territorial & get anxious when they pick up other animals scents so I would have brought Cheeto to Morgan’s where Cookie was already comfortable & the only other animal she would have interacted in any way with including scent would have been Cheeto. But maybe Cheeto does awful in the car & it was easier to bring Cookie to them. Either way Morgan said it worked out eventually
Just for anyone who reads this- whenever you get a new cat you should always contain them to a single room for a few days (or until they let you know they're ready to explore). Cats are overwhelmed by big open spaces and can find a lot of comfort in having a little sanctuary. Obviously it varies based off of the cat and their confidence level, but it's better to play it safe and save your new kidden a little bit (or a lot!!) of stress. :)
It really is up to their personality. We adopted 2 of our cats at around 8 weeks (years apart). Our first one, fearless hunter she is, was claiming a spot on the couch within a day. Our second one hid under the couch for a week before she came out, she also gets freaked out if the wind blows too hard or a man comes around despite having 0 bad experiences with men. (She was born in a house of women and went straight from there to our house with a boy who she loved to death)
Don't be scared. Adopt one young so u can train it the way u r, as much as u can. I am non-aggressive, and my animals r like that. Even ones I have adopted as adults, if u r kind and patient, for the most part they will understand what is okay. It's people who hurt or little kids that ruin pets. Yes, I am expressing a true and unpopular opinion. Little kids r cruel and parents need to train the human, not the animal to take it.

PLEASE READ THIS THE SALT LAMP IS DANGEROUS At 16:25 we see a salt lamp. Those are pretty, but some cats lick them. Because they’re salty cats continue licking them and it can really damage their organs and end up being fatal. Shane and Ryland really should make sure Cheeto (and Mrs. Cookie) can’t reach it. I’ve seen cats die from this and it honestly really surprised me because you wouldn’t think about this.
Ayda Escapes I have two salt lamps in my room and I’ve never seen my cat lick them. Depends on the cat I guess but I will probably replace them one day
Warning. This is false. My cats love salt lamps. They lick them all the time. They haven't been sick from it. Nor have they died. So please don't spread false rumours around.

I suggest taking your cats to the vet just to make sure they don't have sodium poisoning. I have cats of my own, and even I know better not to keep dangerous objects in places they can reach. The cats fought because they need to be introduced slowly, starting off in separate rooms and rotating toys for a while, then switching their rooms so they get a feel for the others scent, and then once they stop hissing so much try putting them in the same room for a while to test it out before they go back into their own rooms for a while, by the next day they should be good, may fight a bit though. I've got four cats at home and it gave me such bad anxiety every time we Introduced a new one, also it would probably be best to introduce them again next time one of them needs to be babysat for a few days
Well said, I would also advise them not to hold the cat while they're fighting. It creates tension between them and the cat being held feels trapped and even more anxious.
I have five cats and when I brought the "newest" one home, they were literally friends with my other cats the next day so it also depends on the cat. If we just let them be, they figure it out eventually.
It also really helps to put the newer cat in a cage or something so the old cat/cats don’t feel threatened and can inspect the new cat thinking they’re boss ... I found this always helps really well ☺️

Hey, Morgan! I really think a great collab for you would be to invite Jackson Galaxy to come help you with some of Ms. Cookie’s minor behavior issues (clawing, biting, stalking you around the house) and also explain feline body language. It would help you understand Ms. Cookie better & be a really informative video for people considering adopting a cat for the first time during the peak of adoption season. Edit: he could also teach you how to introduce Cheeto & Ms. Cookie!
It’s going to be harder for Cookie to be friends than Cheeto, because Cheeto is more used to having other animals (Honey and Uno) around, however Cookie isn’t really used to it. Just make sure to take it slow and don’t force anything. Btw Cookie is a sassy queen 👑🔥🔥

I think this is great. Not everyone is a cat expert. I'm still learning and I've had my rescue for almost 3 years. She's already made you shine Morgan, you can tell. They change your life especially with anxiety.
The reproduction of cats is actually very painful for female cats. They’re essentially held captive by a male (usually while being bitten on the back of the neck and held between the legs) while spikes penetrate them. And Morgan said in the video that she had already had two kittens. Twice within one year (she’s only a year old again according to what Morgan said) is a lot for a young cat but not uncommon. Being stray so young, and then being the the traumatizing environment of a shelter, it’s understandable why she doesn’t like other cats yet.
Also raising the kittens is difficult for street cat mothers. Males could kill her babies to put her back into heat, they almost constantly need her for warmth and food (in the video Morgan said she was so skinny bc her kittens relied on her for too long.) Some cat mothers do die from starvation.
Morgan talking with her hands is so comforting to know I'm not the only one who does this. Usually in public people stare at my hands while I talk cause they're doing their own thing lol
hey morgan! from a person who has two cats, and one who used to be a stray i can tell you that this is super normal! it seems miss cookie was just threatened or feeling that way, because cheeto had his tail up at first which is a good sign. Cats wont become best friends at first, like when cheeto met honey. It will take a while for them to get along, but enough practice and teaching them for quite a while should get them to be friends. Also, when their meeting eachother id say instead of holding them back just to let them explore each other and sniff eachother and stuff like that. If they end up fighting it can be playful or not,usually one of them will meow or hiss during a fight. If they dont do that then it meas they are probably just playing. Though, miss cookie is a girl and i dont have a girl cat so it might be different when meeting each other, because of mating and stuff. Miss cookie could jst think hes tryna mate and shes just not interested, so thats also why you should just let them sniff and stuff. However her behaviour is typical on female cats that went through the things she went through (had kittens, probably had struggle to find food to survive and feed her kittens, protect them and so on), however over time she will calm down and be very grateful for the love and house she has now 🖤 give her some time to adjust to this new beginning
This is normal for ALL cats meeting new cats. It takes awhile. Mine hated each other for a few weeks but after about 8 weeks they were preening each other and a few months they got all cuddly. But it did a few weeks for them to not want to kill each other.

Really like we got our cat from a friend because he cat got out and had babies so he wasn’t that old and he hid in our litter box almost all day because he was scared and nervous because of all the people. It takes time
When I first got my 2nd kitten she hid all the time, wouldn't eat enough and hated being pet and cuddled, about 2 weeks later, now she loves playing with our other cat, runs around, likes being pet, plays, and eats normally. cats get scared and need time to adjust, just like if you adopted a young human kid they'd probably be nervous at first

That's so frustrating to hear. A neighbor moved and had to give up their cat so they gave it to us. She hid in the closet and under the bed for a week until she slowly made her way out and started exploring the apartment. A month later she was always on my lap.

Beside the whole introducing the cats issue, I feel as though we should also praise Morgan for adopting a cat from the shelter. Often times you tubers will purchase a cat from petco or breeders, whereas with Morgan she adopted a precious cat from the shelter. Great job for that Morgan!❤️

Hannah Matson Petco is actually one of the largest adoption partners for cats, dogs, and rabbits in the country! Most local Petcos give their space for free to rescue groups and give them free supplies. They also award huge grants each year. So very pro Petco!!

@@mjm3091 Orange cats have a propensity for weight problems, and they may not have really noticed Cheeto changing much. They're obviously very good about the dogs so I guarantee they will or have already been to the vet about it. Also not animal abuse. My black cat Klaudia LOVES EATING so much so that I can't feed her dry food because she eats it too fast, and throws it up, but I wasn't sure I was feeding her enough because she always acts like she's starving. Long story short, she became a sphere and then I cut back on what she was eating and bam, healthy kitty.

What Cheeto and Cookie we’re doing was normal when they met. They were trying to get to know each other and get a feel for how far they can go with each other. Cats take a couple of months to fully “love” each other. My cats took a couple of weeks to get used to each other and they still smack each other sometimes so it might take a bit for them to open up and play.

My boyfriend's mom is babysitting a cat because the owners are renovating their entire house, her cat and that cat despise eachother. It's been almost a year and they still fight, are very nervous around eachother, they act different now like destroy furniture, poop outside of the litter box, one of them doesn't let the other one go outside when the backdoor is open. They made progress (from fighting 24/7) but it's still pretty bad...
Having them meet at your house where Cookie was more comfortable probably would’ve made her more comfortable
I agree, & because at Shane’s there’s also the scent of 2 dogs that probably made Cookie more anxious as well. Cats are very territorial & get anxious when they pick up other animals scents so I would have brought Cheeto to Morgan’s where Cookie was already comfortable & the only other animal she would have interacted in any way with including scent would have been Cheeto. But maybe Cheeto does awful in the car & it was easier to bring Cookie to them. Either way Morgan said it worked out eventually

Just for anyone who reads this- whenever you get a new cat you should always contain them to a single room for a few days (or until they let you know they're ready to explore). Cats are overwhelmed by big open spaces and can find a lot of comfort in having a little sanctuary. Obviously it varies based off of the cat and their confidence level, but it's better to play it safe and save your new kidden a little bit (or a lot!!) of stress. :)
It really is up to their personality. We adopted 2 of our cats at around 8 weeks (years apart). Our first one, fearless hunter she is, was claiming a spot on the couch within a day. Our second one hid under the couch for a week before she came out, she also gets freaked out if the wind blows too hard or a man comes around despite having 0 bad experiences with men. (She was born in a house of women and went straight from there to our house with a boy who she loved to death)

Don't be scared. Adopt one young so u can train it the way u r, as much as u can. I am non-aggressive, and my animals r like that. Even ones I have adopted as adults, if u r kind and patient, for the most part they will understand what is okay. It's people who hurt or little kids that ruin pets. Yes, I am expressing a true and unpopular opinion. Little kids r cruel and parents need to train the human, not the animal to take it.

Those are pretty, but some cats lick them. Because they’re salty cats continue licking them and it can really damage their organs and end up being fatal.

I suggest taking your cats to the vet just to make sure they don't have sodium poisoning. I have cats of my own, and even I know better not to keep dangerous objects in places they can reach. The cats fought because they need to be introduced slowly, starting off in separate rooms and rotating toys for a while, then switching their rooms so they get a feel for the others scent, and then once they stop hissing so much try putting them in the same room for a while to test it out before they go back into their own rooms for a while, by the next day they should be good, may fight a bit though.
I've got four cats at home and it gave me such bad anxiety every time we Introduced a new one, also it would probably be best to introduce them again next time one of them needs to be babysat for a few days
Well said, I would also advise them not to hold the cat while they're fighting. It creates tension between them and the cat being held feels trapped and even more anxious.

I have five cats and when I brought the "newest" one home, they were literally friends with my other cats the next day so it also depends on the cat. If we just let them be, they figure it out eventually.
It also really helps to put the newer cat in a cage or something so the old cat/cats don’t feel threatened and can inspect the new cat thinking they’re boss ... I found this always helps really well ☺️

The reproduction of cats is actually very painful for female cats. They’re essentially held captive by a male (usually while being bitten on the back of the neck and held between the legs) while spikes penetrate them. And Morgan said in the video that she had already had two kittens. Twice within one year (she’s only a year old again according to what Morgan said) is a lot for a young cat but not uncommon. Being stray so young, and then being the the traumatizing environment of a shelter, it’s understandable why she doesn’t like other cats yet.

Also raising the kittens is difficult for street cat mothers. Males could kill her babies to put her back into heat, they almost constantly need her for warmth and food (in the video Morgan said she was so skinny bc her kittens relied on her for too long.) Some cat mothers do die from starvation.

hey morgan! from a person who has two cats, and one who used to be a stray i can tell you that this is super normal! it seems miss cookie was just threatened or feeling that way, because cheeto had his tail up at first which is a good sign. Cats wont become best friends at first, like when cheeto met honey. It will take a while for them to get along, but enough practice and teaching them for quite a while should get them to be friends. Also, when their meeting eachother id say instead of holding them back just to let them explore each other and sniff eachother and stuff like that. If they end up fighting it can be playful or not,usually one of them will meow or hiss during a fight. If they dont do that then it meas they are probably just playing. Though, miss cookie is a girl and i dont have a girl cat so it might be different when meeting each other, because of mating and stuff. Miss cookie could jst think hes tryna mate and shes just not interested, so thats also why you should just let them sniff and stuff. Thats all, hope this helps!

Cookie is adorable! However her behaviour is typical on female cats that went through the things she went through (had kittens, probably had struggle to find food to survive and feed her kittens, protect them and so on), however over time she will calm down and be very grateful for the love and house she has now 🖤 give her some time to adjust to this new beginning
This is normal for ALL cats meeting new cats.
It takes awhile. Mine hated each other for a few weeks but after about 8 weeks they were preening each other and a few months they got all cuddly. But it did a few weeks for them to not want to kill each other.
