Nomi! Can you ever be loved enough? I was a senior in college when Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968. The university imposed a curfew and the ABC board imposed a no-alcohol sales mandate. I remember telling my friends that maybe now we can all have a clear-headed conversation about what a great man walked among us, about his message, and about the magnitude of our loss. Thank you for taking me to the Lorraine Motel. I also loved the audio about the privilege and promise of waking up in the morning. I needed a good cry with everything going on in the world. Needless to say, I also loved the Tennessee food porn 😀 Take care. Have the best fun and be safe. Love, Carol
Nomi, do not apologize or explain why you move the way you do. Life is too short to be worried about what others think and say. Enjoy every bit of your travels. Can’t wait for the next video.
@klarissaspencer1480 Exactly and well said !!! Nomi videos are relaxing, encouraging and informative. Miserable people with their miserable negative comments and/or opinions are not welcome or wanted.
I wish you'd had time to visit the Smokey Mountains. Maybe another time. It's truly beautiful. This Tennessee girl hasn't been home for more than a visit in 25 years, but it's a beautiful state. A lot of people don't realize that east to west TN is further across than the distance north to south from Tennessee all the way to Michigan. It's a huge state, with all different kinds of things to do and see.
Hey! Kentucky here, that is fried cornbread called a hoecake. I laughed out loud when you called it a pancake! 😂 Glad you are enjoying your time in the South!
These comments are hilarious😂😂😂 Yall called these Pancakes everything from cornbread, Potato bread, corn meal bread, taco bread, corn cakes, hotcakes, hoCakes, corn fritter, etc. Some folks were even upset that she called it a pancake. Different places call it Different things. Thats the truth. 😂 Great video!! I love how you're delivering your story and going to these places and giving us a piece of their story. Its amazing.
Yes continued discussions about the history of the civil rights movement is necessary. We will never forget the sacrifices that our ancestors made for our continued freedom ❤️🙏🏾✊🏾

Yes, Ms. Nomad, that “ Pancake” is fried cornbread and you’ll find that served with meals in several southern restaurants. The food looks fabulous and if we get a good meal in FL for $29 we think we got a deal. So glad to see you exploring and revisiting historical sites and museum as it is always amazing. Peace.
Tennessee here. I’m glad you like our state and we are happy to having you. When you have the time, go a little further South to the countryside, away from the cities. You will be surprised of how much beautiful nature you find, extremely friendly people and food, that will blow your mind. Nash and Memphis are great tourist spots, but in case you want to experience the real Tennessee, the country awaits. Free parking guaranteed. Wherever you go, stay safe, happy and healthy.
I'm originally from Southern California but lived in Memphis for 6 years. One of my regrets while living there was not visiting the Civil Rights Museum. Good thing is I have an opportunity to go back there next year so I will have to definitely visit. Learned a lot while living in the 901! ❤
I was at a dog trial and a friend of mines blues band was playing..out of nowhere 2 musicians showed up and asked to play along.. One played with herbie Hancock . they were incredible they just heard my friends band playing and headed that way with their saxaphone and trumpet. 😊

Yes, that is their version of cornbread. The country folks in the South sometimes make cornbread that is fried like a pancake
In a pan because thats all they had
A corn johnnycake
I’m one of those country folks in the south. It’s not cornbread it’s a corn cake. There is a difference
In Jacksonville Florida it's called a hoe cake.
