I am so happy that KO won for best promo. He might have my favorite promo style of all time. He's always super passionate and I believe every word. Plus, I don't think anyone has ever been as good at being hilarious with ZERO acknowledgement of just how hilarious he is.
Personally while the in the moment of Cody saying he wasn’t going to fight Roman at wrestlemania was stupid, the press conference on was probably one of the most entertaining roads to Wrestlemania in years.
Jordynne Grace female wrestler of the year 9 month reign as TNA Knockouts Champion beating Trinity @ Hard to Kill before losing to Masha Slamovich @ Bound for Glory
Surprised Drew or Christian weren’t in the top 3 for promos. Personally the extended wait time between matches for commercials is the worst aspect of the year. I don’t know if I can really blame WWE for that as it seems to coincide with the TKO acquisition and may be a situation of having to do it because the boss wants it deal.
19:13 I disagree for ONE REASON. Nobody would SHUT UP about it. Tony Khan went "FINE! Here's what you wanted!" and now EVERYONE is acting like they never wanted to see it in the first place... FICKLE!
Because of the way Tony went about and he said he feared for his life when infact he wasn't near it. Punk also owned up to what happened before he showed it and said exactly what happened, so the impact wasn't there. It was a bad call on Tony
Everyone wanted to see it because 2 sides of the story were being told and fans didn’t know who to believe, until they showed the footage proving Punk was right and aew wrong
@Clags Everyone says, "Punk was right." And while maybe that's true... that doesn't mean he was IN the right to start getting physical over such a petty insult... something PUNK HIMSELF loves to do both in and out of character.
@aewmark9618 Maybe... but at the same time, if we never saw the footage. You know DAMN WELL, everyone would still be hung up about it. Now that we got it out of the way, for better or for worse, 2025 should have ZERO thought or mention of Punk (and hopefully backstage altercations) in AEW.
It’s always the intrigue of it. Khan gave his side of the story and where it sounded like Punk was murdering people. Punk gave his after 6 months where it sounded like a HighSchool scuffle. It really should have ended there. Showing a video that had no audio where it really was a small HS scuffle didn’t help anyone. If they were going to show it, probably would have been better off showing it during the public firing of Punk instead of it coming off as ratings boost.
I agree with these awards for the most part. IMO Rhea is easily best women's wrestler of the year. Nothing against Toni Storm, she's great, but Rhea is far and away the bigger star and she should have a massive 2025 ahead of her.
It's interesting how the women's wrestling divisions are "on fire" and yet the only awards for women were female wrestler of the year I mean the tag team award should have Bianca and Jade 🤭
WWE had what may have been its best year. AEW, on the other hand, has seen a steady decline in viewership and attendance. WWE has been making stars while AEW has been killing them, with RARE exceptions. I write this as somebody who was a fan of AEW when it started.
The thing i find hilarious is the constant reminder that the fans voted for all of these. The only reason that's happening is because WWE smashed everyone else this year, and the AEW diehards won't be able to handle it. Maybe this has happened in other, more AEW favoring videos, and I will happily stand here and take an L. Just seems interesting to me is all.
I've not been following wrestling much this year, but great to hear whats been going on. Does anyone have a link to the Tony Khan Toy Story thing? I've not seen this.
I don’t want to hear about how AEW fans can’t say that WWE is good with these poll results. They clearly voted otherwise, so let’s get rid of the bad faith arguments.
Opinions are opinions, but that Drew / Punk cage match was bad. Pedestrian cage match complete with a super sloppy botch and a great finish. The great finish doesn't make up for the rest.
I agree with all the awards basically but the fact the Punk vs Drew won match and story of the year over Swerve vs Hangman is mind blowing. Even if neither won I would be fine but the Punk vs Drew match and story was a Wish version of Swerve vs Hangman. Just saying🤷♂
Heel of the year would be better suited with the things that man says, lol. A talker should be all rounded when it comes to the mic, making you feel emotional, angry, happy, on edge etc
Match: Swerve/Hangman(The Match CM punk/Drew Ripped Off) Breakout: Joe Hendry Promotion: WWE Show: WrestleMania Night 2 Promos: Toni Storm Story: Cody/Roman Gimmick: Toni Storm Disappointment: Wyatt Sicks Male Wrestler OTY: Always Roman Female Wrestler OTY: Toni Storm
While I chose not to watch WWE for personal reasons, I cannot deny that they were far and away the best promotion this year. I feel there should have been funniest moment of the year should be Okada taking over audio production. "I'm so sorry... bitch!." LOL
I actually disagree and say AEW did pretty well overall with the voters. It wasn't like WWE had a clean sweep and AEW didn't feature in the top 3 at all. IT's to be expected that WWE won the overall promotion by a landslide based on viewership number and crowd too.
77.8% of the Whatculture audience voted for WWE? I’m curious to know if Sidge keeps saying AEW is for “more sophisticated” fans.
lol of course he is.
Even on a show he's not on, you've managed to obsess over him, well done
The amount of people who whine about others tastes in the IWC is wild, isn't it? @7an7ara
He’s correct
I am so happy that KO won for best promo. He might have my favorite promo style of all time. He's always super passionate and I believe every word. Plus, I don't think anyone has ever been as good at being hilarious with ZERO acknowledgement of just how hilarious he is.
Drew made my year
worst moment for me was the rock forcing himself into the wrestlemania main event with roman reigns, thankfully it didnt happen
Worst moment was roman not passing hogan's record
Personally while the in the moment of Cody saying he wasn’t going to fight Roman at wrestlemania was stupid, the press conference on was probably one of the most entertaining roads to Wrestlemania in years.
Worst moment of the year was any time Mercedes was dancing on our screens.
Jordynne Grace female wrestler of the year 9 month reign as TNA Knockouts Champion beating Trinity @ Hard to Kill before losing to Masha Slamovich @ Bound for Glory
Despite being injured for 6 months, Punk had one of the best years of his career ❤ More importantly, he has proven his haters wrong.
I think Drew should have been a top contender for best promo of the year. He really stepped up his promo game this year.
That’s cool for Jacob Fatu! I saw him in Pittsburgh last year wrestle in front of a few hundred people, and he blew the roof off the place.
But this video reminds me that my opinions and tastes in wrestling differ greatly from the mainstream
Story of the year.. CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre...
Fighting over a bracelet 😂
Fraxiom were very very good this year
Surprised Drew or Christian weren’t in the top 3 for promos. Personally the extended wait time between matches for commercials is the worst aspect of the year. As a fan of both AEW and wwe, this is ridiculous. If you’re a fan please try to watch both sides cause these awards make no sense.
Yes they do
I agree with these awards for the most part. IMO Rhea is easily best women's wrestler of the year. Nothing against Toni Storm, she's great, but Rhea is far and away the bigger star and she should have a massive 2025 ahead of her.
Costco guys stuff is really starting to hit diminishing returns 😂

The Tony toy Story bit was funny I laughed out loud
19:42
But wait if you have male and female wrestler of the year wouldn’t it make sense to also have female tag team of the year?
The thing i find hilarious is the constant reminder that the fans voted for all of these. The only reason that's happening is because WWE smashed everyone else this year, and the AEW diehards won't be able to handle it. Awesome. Gotta see how my votes did in comparison to the winners. Was it on x?
I don’t want to hear about how AEW fans can’t say that WWE is good with these poll results. They clearly voted otherwise, so let’s get rid of the bad faith arguments.
There are already comments saying WWE won because only WWE fans voted. It’s wild.
You know life is easier when you stop caring about what random IWC nerds say online
Opinions are opinions, but that Drew / Punk cage match was bad. Pedestrian cage match complete with a super sloppy botch and a great finish. The great finish doesn't make up for the rest.
She is still Timeless Toni Storm but in a delusional state
Outta Time Toni Storm
I agree with all the awards basically but the fact the Punk vs Drew won match and story of the year over Swerve vs Hangman is mind blowing. Even if neither won I would be fine but the Punk vs Drew match and story was a Wish version of Swerve vs Hangman. Just saying🤷♂
Should have had Simon host
Los Forajidos would be my tag team of the year 2024.
Nice Diddy xmas sweater there
How the f is the rock not promo of the year
⬆ To WhatCulture for 2024 ty for all the content hope the Team has a wonderful holiday season
Why is it a shock that aew is 2? Like no hate but aew has had a bad run .
This is a WWE centric list for obvious reasons.
Because it’s better?
Story should have been bloodline
Dickish of you to take jabs at the people for what they voted.
Talker of the year Id have Christian. The things that man said.
Heel of the year would be better suited with the things that man says, lol. A talker should be all rounded when it comes to the mic, making you feel emotional, angry, happy, on edge etc
Andy Murray sucks. Due to take months off.
Best WhatCulture host: Andy Murray
Worst: Adam Wilborn, Michael Hamphlett tied
News today Andrew?
Probs none over xmas
@thethedeanshow If you say the truth, than okay.
Liv Morgan should be female wrestler of the year.
Shocking that a WWE leaning shows crowd voted WWE
Match: Swerve/Hangman(The Match CM punk/Drew Ripped Off)
Breakout: Joe Hendry
Promotion: WWE
Show: WrestleMania Night 2
Promos: Toni Storm
Story: Cody/Roman
Gimmick: Toni Storm
Disappointment: Wyatt Sicks
Male Wrestler OTY: Always Roman
Female Wrestler OTY: Toni Storm
Tag team OTY
@haircutexperience I'm gonna have to say New Day
While I chose not to watch WWE for personal reasons, I cannot deny that they were far and away the best promotion this year. I feel there should have been funniest moment of the year should be Okada taking over audio production. "I'm so sorry... bitch!." LOL
The aew fans will come and say wwe fans have ruined this whatculture award, lol.
I actually disagree and say AEW did pretty well overall with the voters. It wasn't like WWE had a clean sweep and AEW didn't feature in the top 3 at all. IT's to be expected that WWE won the overall promotion by a landslide based on viewership number and crowd too.
Project much? Geez. Haven’t seen any AEW fans doing that anywhere
You care too much about tribalism bro
@@justGSquaredthere's a few posts getting on like this. Like proactively getting tribal before anyone else. It's sad.
😂😂😂
Biggest Disappointment of the Year: So-SLOW and the Menstrual Bloodline
They hurt you that bad?🫵🏻😂
Biggest disappointment is that non existent chin
Anyway go on jelly roll
Booo...The Dub is always the best!
2024 was a bad year for AEW. Tony Khan needs to step down as booker as soon as possible
The Dub was good, but it could be better.
Voters are only wwe fans atleast they got the women of the year right 🧏🏾♂️
🤣 🤣 🤣 only a child would comment, comments like yours, so sad you guys go to this length because you are unhappy with a fake award.
