It's a bit unreasonable to place a tank in 1v1 against an elite swordsman. It ought to end in stalemate. On the other hand, it's foolish to build a fighting unit without a tank. If these people had battle experience, they'd acknowledge that.
I think it runs on the same logic of other isekai, where the people would not be as strong because they have to worry about perma-death.
That sounds like common sense but tanks aren't good. Tanks are only good if they can pull aggro and the opponent isn't smart. You literally put you're life on the line to block an attack. So if an opponent attacks a tank and does nothing, it might say screw this and start attack the others. At the same time, if it continues to attack a tank relentlessly and someone attacks it from behind, you think it's gonna keep attacking that tank? That's why tanks are only good if they have something like taunt.
@@la8ball exactly. Tanks are for party support. They can get in the way of attackers and even pull aggro from the hot headed ones, but they need attackers to have a good chance at winning. So placing them in a 1v1 duel is stupid. But they can still be a benefit to a party

@@la8ball In games where you literally cant pull the aggro, like league, tanks are used in another way entirely. A tank is literally a wall between a damage dealer and the enemies. They get in the enemies face and use their health to peel for their team, or lock enemy team down. They are not fighters, they are used to control the direction and speed of the fight.
But at the same time that means that if a tank is strong enough, they can get in the damage dealers face and start hitting them in the face nonstop, which wont deal much damage, but the damage dealer has no chance to escape, and probably not enough health to withstand even that. So yeah, my point is, don't forget that there are different types of tanks.

At this point, there should be a drinking game for everytime a Manga author creates a story about how "this useless class is actually OP" or "I got betrayed, so I became OP".
Don't get me wrong, the manga is good. But I cringe inside everytime I see stories about the same thing "Weak" and "Betrayed".
i wouldn't really call the class op. it needs a specific set of skills and knowledge to make it good.

Full counter isn't a parry just a reflection. It sends the attack back. A parry deflects, sends away or moves the attack out of the way.
