This is beautiful. I love how the hens and chicks drape over the sides. I remember I once had a huge aloe Vera plant in my yard against my house. A few winters ago it was wiped out sadly.

Beautiful! I love the way they look tucked in so closely together. Seeing this aloe made me realize my aloe might not be doing so well because it definitely doesn't look as good as that one 😕 I will have to keep experimenting! Thanks for the inspiration!
I ordered from MountainCrest Gardens after watching GardenAnswer’s “Massive succulent unboxing”. Omg they were spectacular! I made a vertical garden with them. My other favorite TH-camr Laura Eubanks with Design for Serenity is doing a workshop at MountainCrest gardens. I hope GardenAnswer does more with them too😁

Thank you Laura - I've been working on a new succulent arrangement - I have a jade plant that I thought about repotting with some other plants; however the jade plant is in a plant saucer and has new growth coming on it and I dont want to disturb it; perhaps I can just add some plant to it - it is a 12 inch saucer .

Another option for a beginner would be to use a pot with drain holes that fits inside a nicer pot. That way it can be watered, allowing all the excess water to drain out,then popped back into the decorative pot. This also works well if you get a lot of rain - you can lift out the liner pot and dump excess water out of the decorative pot.
Hi Laura and Aaron. I was watching another TH-cam video and discovered something that you might find of interest. It is a mini clip on light that is very bright and has three settings. It might work in a pinch for you instead of a big white __thing__ on a tripod. Thanks again for another informative, pretty ☺️☺️☺️, Video.

Love your videos they've helped me so much when I was first growing my plant collection! I have a question because recently my mom got a echiveria succulent as a gift from coworkers and she didn't know that the "dust" on the plant was necessary and she wiped it off and stuck it in the sun and now the poor thing has gotten all limp and wrinkly I've never had this issue before and I'm not sure how best to go about getting the leaves nice and firm and juicy again
I made one of these and would like to see what yours looks like now. I live in the High Desert of Ca and for some reason my sempervivem are pushing up and away from the soil. I have them in morning sun and water weekly but not drenched just wet. I have others that are fine with the same light and water.

You need a cactus mix potting soil for succulents. One drainage hole is fine. Just remember that succulents Do NOT like to be watered much. They will die if overwatered.

I've had such bad luck with succulents. I don't know why. I can grow most anything else. Maybe I give them too much water.
