As I feel it would be good MANA's (see what I did there) to explain the timeline of this filming given the current situation, a comment on me own video probably is the most visible way. This was filmed the day after I filmed the previous video of me tearing down my shed. It the week before any form of lockdown measures were placed within the UK. Of course, international travel had already been restricted and as this was after all social areas including pubs, attractions etc were advised to close, meaning the streets of the big smoke were very quiet, but not at all quiet by what I'd imagine they are during the further lockdown measures. Otherwise, all the usual shops were open including the dealership I collected this motorcycle from, trains and buses were running to their full timetable and travel had not been restricted to essential only. Anyway, since the lockdown has started, I've not ridden a motorcycle and have only been home and to the local supermarket once a week. As everyone is saying and rightly doing, stay home and don't get to comfy with this new lifestyle, Covid19 ain't gonna be about forever!
Great video and good fun to watch - I've always fancied one of these. I have a fu**ed metatarsal so auto/CVT/DCT are good. Its a contender as next bike after my TMax 530 DX which is really hard to fault and just toured Spain and Portugal on...
Good to hear you're still on wheels with such an injury! This is certainly the quickest auto bike I've ridden, though I'm sure the new batch of 2025 autos will change that
Thanks for thee vid, after a bnike accident i cant use a manual and I saw this on the approved list of bikes for test, yes there are very few of these in the uk but ill keep looking so i can get my A licence
Tried this and the first nc700 dct....the Mana was better but i couldnt get a GT model locally so just bought a Crosstourer dct (and did a lot of squats in the gym)🏍️💨💨👍
I am one of the majority that has never heard of this model. Thanks for enlightening me, interesting to see something that is a bit of an oddity. Don't think I shall ever have an auto in my riding life. An entertaining watch as always Lammy. Ride and stay safe.
It's surprising where there's no jerk you normally get from gear and final drive lash, deceptively fast for sure! Unique always does give bonus points for coolness, though the naked version feels more so vs the GT of we're judging it by Top Gear cool wall techniques!
If it wasn’t for bike snobbery, I think it would be a popular big city commuting bike. As it is “real” bikers don’t want anything that makes your like easier like abs, traction control, auto transmission etc. etc. Hahahahahahah!
The amount of motorcycle snobbery in the UK is tremendous! If it's anything ever so slightly off the centreline of motorcycling from the past 20 years, nope, rejected. Such as shame as it makes motorcycles made and sold so conservative and more and more basically the same as each other. At least those that are the biggest snobs are usually the ones overcompensating with an all-gear-no-idea vibe. That's all fine by me, more ways to take the piss when you come across them!
Awesome to see you having fun on the auto... I had a go on the Honda auto 750... I think I nearly fell asleep riding it, but this one seems a little more perky! :-)
I've yet to ryde a DCT Honda but what people say about those are traits that don't seem shared here! Only thing perhaps could make it better in terms of the auto is going to sound counter intuitive. In sport or manual mode it could be with the gear changes being harsher or perhaps a louder pipe just so you can feel the revs
Certainly an interesting bike but I think for me if I was in the market for an auto I'd still go for a 650 maxi scooter and make use of the practicality and storage it offers
Aye, maxi scooter are great bits of kit, though I think the perks of this style instead is the seating position. The clamp shell feet forward position can become quite uncomfortable for longer trips. But for everything else, crack on, especially the ones with 2 front wheels!
Aye, I did film it but it came up so bad in the edit that I cut it out! But it doesn't matter how big it is or anything, it's outstanding feature is that it has a light in there when you open it!
Great video mate... I really wish you spoke up a lil'. I own a 2010 mana gt and its fabulous! I've put about 6000kms so far on it and its fantastic.. easy AF and waiting for a service post covid19 as I notice a temperature going above 37, 38, 39 on slow city rides as service is due.... then I can start using him a little more for fishing getaways over the weekend. I do however love the fact that this is an exclusive bike for the elite few viz. u & i.. ;-) I wish I can save up some $ to do some basic practical mods and then there's no looking back. I have also read up a few articles about gearbox related issues so i'm curious to know did you get it new? How many kms on the odo did you get it at & how many kms you got on ur odo now.. I got mine whenat 12k and now its at 17300kms FYI. Have you any issues with gear shifts so far? Great to hear back
This bike is a 2010 model and had about 30000km on it. No issues I found with the anything gearbox related, nor are there any signs of it in the service book. It all felt smooth and as it should. As I mentioned, it is not my bike, I was collecting it for someone else. This means that after this ride plus one more to deliver it to the new owner, I'd done about 700km in total. The only issue was the front ABS sensor electrical connecter unplugged itself which caused the dash to show the ABS warning light which can only be reset by an Aprilia diagnostics computer. I think it sounds like you like it so judging by your experience, you've got happy times ahead!
MT07 is definitely the most conventional! Conventional probably means it's good, but good isn't always best... Ain't nowt wrong with a Kwaki 250, great for taking on track as a competent rider and pissing of 600s and 1000s by lapping quicker!
Nice vid... Sometimes a bit hard to understand... If you are from a foreign country... But I think I got your impressions.... One more thing... Your camera position could be improved... You always do up and down with your head... It's a bit shaky... Sometimes.... Best wishes...
Fear not, even those native English speakers struggle to understand me! The way I have my camera set up usually means the first ride on a new bike is hard to get right first time, still, all things to improve on for me!
Yea, no way. I'm too cool to ride an auto.. If you're not consistently shifting your bike into gear for hours you're a loser. Great video though... - Chads Entire comment section.
But being pedantic, you can still shift gears on this bike, just with buttons instead! If anything, there's more gears to play around with on this bike than usual!

I never expected to ride an auto, but I'm not gonna say no to the opportunity! Try everything!
I have a 2011 mana, it a really cool bike and surprisingly quick.

Does it have gear oil that you have to change?
Nice little video, Lammy. Thanks for sharing it. 👍 🏍
Cheers!

I also like less conventional motorcycles but now own a kawasaki ninja 250 which is as conventional as you can get (apart from owning an mt07 maybe)
