@noluv778 the point of the comment was to highlight the difference in solutions provided by Owens and X. One supports integration, the other shows how problematic integration can be, based on evidence and experience.
You did a phenomenal job reading. Excellent work. All the copies in the libraries around me were checked out AND there’s a waiting list!? So I looked on TH-cam. Thank you!

A white “radical” reading the autobiography of Malcom X out loud and saying the N word w a hard r. I wonder how Malcom would feel about this. I’m sure you really didn’t wanna say that word out loud. (That last sentence was sarcastic in case you needed clarification)
Thank you for your feedback on our audiobook of Malcolm X's autobiography. Our goal was to stay true to Malcolm X’s original text, preserving its authenticity and impact. We understand that the use of racially charged language, particularly by someone outside of the Black community, can be troubling. Your insights are important to us, and we will continue to reflect on how best to honor the legacy of Malcolm X while being mindful of our audience’s concerns. (No sarcasm included in case you needed clarification)
You must’ve only read the first chapter lmfao. EVERY AMERICAN should read this book. This is from the book: "“The white people in meeting audiences would throng around me, asking me, after I had addressed them somewhere, “What can a sincere white person do?” When I say that here now, it makes me think about that little co-ed I told you about, the one who flew from her New England college down to New York and came up to me in the Nation of Islam’s restaurant in Harlem, and I told her that there was “nothing” she could do. I regret that I told her that. I wish that now I knew her name, or where I could telephone her, or write to her, and tell her what I tell white people now when they present themselves as being sincere, and ask me, one way or another, the same thing that she asked.”
Your observation about the mention of 'Marcus Aurelius Garvey' in 'The Autobiography of Malcolm X' is astute. This reference is indeed unusual and seems to blend the names of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, the influential Black nationalist leader, with Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emperor and philosopher from a completely different era. In the context of Malcolm X's life and his father's activism, the intended reference is clearly to Marcus Mosiah Garvey, who was a central figure in the promotion of Black nationalism and the Pan-Africanism movement. The inclusion of 'Aurelius' in this context appears to be an anomaly. It could be an editorial oversight or a unique stylistic choice by the authors, Malcolm X and Alex Haley. However, there's no specific information available that explains why this particular phrasing was used. It's important to focus on the intended message, which highlights the influence of Marcus Garvey's philosophies on Malcolm X's father and, subsequently, on Malcolm X himself. Garvey's vision of Black empowerment and the return to African roots had a significant impact on the early civil rights movement in America. If someone knows the reasons, please share in the comments.

Did you listen to part two ?
I am so blown away..this is something school's should recommend to read/ listening too. When I went to school this wasn't taught such a shame.
I’m here because this is a reading I have assigned for my college history class, haha
😂😂😂 why would your oppressor teach you such things 😂 silly slave
Even today my kids told me “malcolm x is bad” being said by teachers, such a shame.
I’m reading this because it’s assigned to my freshman ela class sooo I guess that’s progress
Why? What should they be teaching exactly?
I’m making a documentary on Malcolm X right now; this book is the core of my research.
keep us posted on the documentary.

also, it is available on podcast platforms (apple, google, etc) as one continuous file. (vs two on TH-cam). It is also on Audible, for free.
