    At least since the height of the so called European migrant crisis in 2015 there has been an ongoing process of finding answers to the challenges of increased migration. In order to meet these challenges, the EU is currently setting up an agency with the task of guaranteeing European border protection. The European Border and Coast Guard Agency - Frontex.

You can't ask a nation or a federation to have no control over who enters its borders. Methods used should of course respect laws. I'm not an expert but it's reasonable to assume that drone surveliance is much more efficient in spotting migrants than boats patrolling. this means that with the same resorces more boats can be spotted and rescued saving more lifes, this is not said in the video. In view of future possible mass migrations caused by climate changes new international laws should be discussed to regulate the proces as much as possible. I'm proud to live in the EU that many consider soo much better that are ready to risk their lives to reach it, a well regulated immigration can be a resource as well as a bad regulated or disregulated one is a problem.

      @BolinFYMThere are good arguments for both letting the immigrants in and keeping them out, however both of these groups don't see the big picture. If they really want to address the problem, they should focus their energy on the root cause of this issue, which is terrible living conditions in the middle east. The people who do actually get into the EU are just a small percentage of the people who suffer under terrible conditions at home. Doing this would satisfy everybody since we would both help the immigrants and stop their influx into the EU.

    At 8:00 you are mentioning that pushback of migrants is illegal under EU Law. While that is true, the things happening in Greece / Turkey and Italy / Libya are not pushbacks. The refugees will not be persecuted in Libya or Turkey because of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion. If they are running away from a war, like Ukrainian or Syrian refugees (the Syrian civil war is over soon), they have to be sheltered, but if they just hope for a better life economically speaking, the legal way would be to apply for a working visa, not entering the country illegally.

      My country is now fight back, a bit late, but still.
      But what about Belgium ? Is there some good news ? Like banning of Islamists organization, rising of nationalist parties, stronger migration policy passed in the parliament, etc...

    • @nutri-gains6535
      @nutri-gains6535 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrsupremegascon Yes, as you may know Belgium has a Dutch part in the North and a French part in the South. In the North the far right party named "Vlaams Belang" will win the next elections with around 26% of the votes.
      The second biggest party will get 20% of the votes and is a central right oriented party. The sad part is that the French part in the south (32% of the Belgian population) votes extreme left... That's because most immigrants live in the southern part and Brussels. 70% of these Africans came to Belgium with a French passport and adopt Belgian nationality afterwards :( So if France can stop letting everyone in we can also stop the problem with African immigration. Succes with Le Pen or Eric Zemmour

      @Nikolas Benko As a person from Bulgaria I can relate to them since in the beginning we also had a lot of problems with the immigrants. Luckily our friendly relations with Erdogan and Turkey helped us, but this just puts more pressure on the Greek side of the border. To compensate, we opened our dams to increase the Maritsa river's (The river is the border between Turkey and Greece but it starts in Bulgaria) water volume, which only endangers immigrant lives, but it proved somewhat effective. When the EU couldn't assist us further we turned to Turkey which was very cooperative, sadly Hungary didn't have anyone to lend them a hand, as you said. Plus the couple thousand refugees in Bulgaria live in poor conditions because the EU forced them on us and we could only settle them in the old Soviet-era military bases.

    In India we have the largest border guarding force in the world. The Border Security Force (BSF) , Is the force that protects the border from illegal immigration, drugs, bad stuff, etc. In war time they assist the Army. They are mainly stationed in Indo-Pak and Indio-Bangladesh Border. Kindda weird that such forces are not incorporated in many counties.

    at least Greece no longer has to pay for the European Border Security in that area.
    yes, the Greek gov't did lie to get inside the EU & they were (to say the least) budgetarily disorganised, but most of the costs with border patrolling & immigrant detention were EU expenses paid for by the Greek budget only.

      In case you're deaf or blind, FRONTEX mostly operates in the south, where local agencies can't handle the influx of immigrants (this was clearly established in the video). The Ukrainian border is successfully being handled by the EU nations that neighbor it, therefore there is no need for FRONTEX's assistance. Not to mention Ukraine is an EU Candidate State, making the situation slightly incomparable to the situation in the south.
