Sufiscore is delighted to present this remarkable meeting of Indian and European musicians, featuring vocalist Pratibha Singh Baghel with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.
This is a Ghazal by Dagh Dehlvi (1831 - 1905), a prominent poet of the 19th century, a period which is regarded as the “Golden” era of Urdu poetry. The poet addresses his beloved and talks about the joys and sorrows of love and how his attachment to her has brought him many enemies. He says he cares nothing for the troubles the world has inflicted on him and that he is more mindful of the many hearts that she, his beloved, has broken.

Not only the melodious voice of pratibha but the background symphony is also adding magic. All this is possible due to deepak pandit , great violin player and long time associate of Jagjeet Singh. Original flutist of jagjeet singh, Parasnath is also adding to the magic.

Actually after this comment I listened to Noorjahan version and it was OK. Don’t take it wrong Noorjahan was one of great and her voice was great but composition was OK, did not gave justice to words of Ghazal. Actually same Ghazal Farida Khanum sang it beautifully and composition is great which seems like this one is based of.
