Ha ha. I can't wait to see the 2020 course vlogs with Mark and Dan. There is gonna be a lot of pacing out drives and mugging each other off. I can feel it coming. Ha ha. Great vid again guys.
Great to see that drivers are getting basic again... no adjustments, just a very good driver! Nice one Mark (watching it because of you're in the bag 2020).
Great review. I have been gaming this driver since November and it is the real deal. Going in there was no way that a light weight shaft was going to work for me but it does. The weighting in the grip really helps my tempo and find the center of the face much more consistently. Forgiveness, looks, feel, performance, etc. are excellent. And don't think this is just for old men as it is not. At 6'4 and 280 I take a pretty good swipe at the ball and this holds up nicely.
I used one at a demo day last year, and effortlessly gained 15 yards or so. After 3 swings I was sold. Unfortunately I kept swinging it, and started hooking the krap out of it. So, no sale. A friend of mine hit it well, and bought one. For him it straightened out his misses by miles. Best driver he's ever had, not even close. He swings a little over 90. I think he swings this one easier, probably. Also, I can tell he is spinning it a LOT and hitting it very high. But in his case, the extra spin is keeping him in play.
The regular shaft is very flexible, compared to other brands. If you have a smooth transition, it goes straight and long, but as soon as you try to force it, it snaps to the left
I played with this driver for 2 or 3 rounds. I was impressed with the ability of this driver to find fairways. However, I lost about 25-30 yards of distance. The balls seemed to fly off the clubhead and then just fall out of the sky! My swing speed is around 100-105 and I believe that individuals with slower swing speeds would find benefits using this driver.
TXG posted a video on different club weights, both swing and total weights. Interesting how by just changing the grip changed the performance of the club. 10 grams moved either way by using a larger/heavier or lighter grip made noticeable differences. Just reinforces the importance of getting fitted.
I play an XXIO 9 driver (n-1 generation) in R flex which comes with a 41g shaft which is purported to have a high balance point. This is the best driver I've ever hit! Works great for my slow SS of 85 mph - I regularly carry it 220 yard- and can play a nice draw with it .
Should have seen the new equipment coming right there Mark. Fantastic clubs that should be a consideration for 99% of all golfers out there, but they just get overlooked or not stocked enough in pro shops. Congratulations Mark
I got a XXIO Prime driver with small head that is absolute killer long and straight love it. I'm in Japan and there are lots of XXIO clubs around. We do get lots of clubs the rest of the world does not. I got a Callaway Legacy V Platinum driver too, and a set of Taylormade Gloire irons. Wasn't trying to build a set of Japan clubs but I just love them and they work for me.
I one a set of XXIO forged irons and woods three years ago at an outing. I switched to them to the following year and shaved four strokes off my game. Once you get over telling the back story of the Asian background and Srixon subsidiary. It's all good. The clubs and the bag I have are beautiful
Hi fellas. Agree about the grip size being a touch on the skinny side. A bit tricky to change as not only is the overall size small but the grips are extremely thin because it needs to accommodate a larger shaft butt diameter. A bit like the old Taylor Made Burner grips. In fact XXIO make unique grips for their clubs and also make specific grips for driver, fairway, hybrid and irons with differing core sizes.
Had a Srixon XXIO Hot about 15 years ago, one of the now illegal hot face drivers it was ok but the matching fairways were fantastic, long and felt great.
Exio as Expensive O.. I tried the "9" in 10.9 head and reg shaft. Compared to other drivers my swing speed and ball speed were faster but I was pulling it. I think a SR (stiff reg) or stiff shaft would have been better and maybe the less lofted 9.5 head but I havent had a chance to try yet. It was less work on the body compared to other drivers is you spend time at the range..
I respond totally 360 with light anything. My irons are D5 w average 115 gram shafts and my driver is D8. Both fully fitted. I swing faster and more consistently when I FEEL like there’s a sledgehammer in my hands. Great vid. I’d love to see the sledgehammer vs vid as a contrast.
Tried it back to back with the Srixon z785. Preferred the z785. Same day I tried the XXIO forged '6' irons, normally have graphite shaft for slow swing speeds, but the one I tested had a stiff steel shaft, loved it. Great feel. You should test those.
I have tried this brand at my local practice range . Very light club. I would love to see you test Honma . I game a complete set of the 2018 TW737 Series . They have come out with so many other sets since then and very affordable.
"XXIO [zek-si-oh] is a Japanese premium golf brand that is a part of Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd. owned by SRI (Sumitomo Rubber Industries)" I've never heard of this brand until I moved to Okinawa, Japan. I'm looking for a new driver for this year, I'll have to give it a try at Golf5. I'm glad you "partnered" with one of the lesser-known brands. Keep up the good work. Let me know if you can get @Your Golf Travel @Rory Anderson gets you a trip to Okinawa, there are several golf courses worth your while. Would love to hack a round with the muppets
XXIO is owned by Dunlop as is SRIXON if we are being told the right information. An old mate of mine has one of these , earlier model and loves it. I have hit it and liked it a lot. I think the pronunciation is xisxio a bit like zerox if that helps.
I can remember buying the first SRIXON XXIO...i believe now its a Dunlop brand?.....it was metalic purple ..small head and was a beast....one of the longest in its day
It's your fault, Mark. I watched this review and also your review of the newest XXIO X with the green trim, Miyazaki AX-II shaft and adjustable hosel. I saw a brand new XXIO X in this model with the orange trim, 10.5 degree with Miyazaki AX-I stiff 47 gram 4.9 torque shaft (actually the International Flex Code is 4333, with 4 being between stiff and regular and 3 being regular flex), on the website of a major company selling pre-owned clubs for only US $252. Based on your results, I bought it. Arrived on June 22, 2023. I tested it at the PGA SuperStore near me in Rockville, Maryland this afternoon, using the practice bays with screens that provide all data except club speed. Used the new 2023 Mizuno RB Tour ball with only 272 dimples as it has the spin I need. Compared it with my present driver, a Callaway Epic GBB Sub Zero 10.5 degree head with a Graphite Design AD-IZ 6 stiff 63 gram 3.2 torque shaft. (I also have the AD-IZ 5 R1 flex 54 gram 4.5 torque shaft, have alternated the two, will test that one against the XXIO in the next day or two.) The XXIO came out ahead for me. Averages ball speed 119.9, launch angle 18.1, Backspin 2248, peak 84, descent angle 37.1, carry 198 total 220. Best shot was ball speed 123.3, peak 99, carry 206, total 230. With my Callaway Epic averages ball speed 116.0, launch 18.0, backspin 1908, peak 74, descent angle 34.1, carry 191, total 215. Best shot was ball speed 117.8, peak 84, carry 198, total 222. So basically an 8 yard gain right off the bat. Can probably increase it a bit more. I realize the numbers may not seem impressive, but then I had my 82nd birthday on June 17. Am told my numbers are quite good for that age. So I thank you, Mark. Footnote: XXIO costs more because they use extremely high quality materials. The ATI Titanium they use is what deep ocean submersibles are built of that don't implode like the unfortunate Titan just did. The Miyazaki shaft uses TORAYCA T1100G carbon fiber with an advanced NANOALLOY resin matrix, which is exactly the same materials that Graphic Design uses in its very expensive shafts (MSRP US $500, or as upgrades US $350).
My understanding of CB for a driver is the head can be more massive (the Pings lately have been 203g+ vs sub-200 TMs) which puts more mass behind the ball
Asian size grips for extremely small hands. Nice clubs, but I struggle every time I hit those as they don’t have a decent thickness on the grip. I play midsize with 4 layers on the bottom
XXIO X 2020 is for "better" player . X 2018 and Eleven 2020 are for slower swing speeds . I gained 6 MPH ball speed against everything on 2018 X driver . I'm 85 mph swing . Also you can play a lower loft with the weight loss and correct flex i.e. 12 normally down to 10.5. All my clubs will be XXIO when i can afford it this year . Cobra Superlite and Callaway Epic Star are other mass-produced lightweights but not near the same quality.
I remember selling the srixon xx10 drivers in the pro shop after they were named the golf world long driver test winner in about 2004. Is it not part of the srixon brand any more? The look and xx10 branding looks similar. I remember it was a really good driver and we sold quite a few.
Never gamed one, but as it is from the same "family" as Srixon and Cleveland (who make great woods despite their lack of popularity) I would have no problem giving it a go.
You mentioned the grip being small on this club and I don't know if you've ever touched on grip size? I don't have massive hands but do wear L/XL glove and typically get medium grips on my clubs. Is that the right move for larger than average hands or is it all feel?
The Zek shi oh is premium brand of clubs in Asia The asian clubs are lighter than western clubs which tend to be heavier Other premium brands like OnOff, Yamaha, Akira also have light weight features
Zek-zi-oh if you want to pronounce it properly, I started gaming their driver 2 years ago with massive success, combined with the miyazaki shafts I'm now gaming all their clubs , the weight plus system is a small weight in the grip so that the club acts as a pendulum to create greater head speed , these are mainly aimed at slower swing speed golfers hence why they are so lightweight
Now Mark....you know there'll be a riot if you slip in an excuse on a strike..be careful bruh! Young man you are smackin' it nicely! Interesting driver, have to drop by a PGA Superstore and have a look at it. Edit: Complete the test with Sir Matt putting in a few of his patented "sling" shots please...
Looks nice, I love Japanese drivers, currently gaming a Vega. 7 yeas old now still a beast but just upgraded to a bit of new Mizuno tech. They are owned by/own Cleveland:Srixon:Myazaki do they not?
the peak height numbers for both of you were very high - crank down the loft and see if you can get the launch to 13-14 degrees - think you would then see some 280 carries if you did
I have gamed one in the past, must be 15 years ago when they first came to this Country, from memory feel was good, distance was good, but wasn’t very friendly
Team - one of you may know but I'm sure I read somewhere that Jack Nicklaus used lead tape under his grips. So that would be classed as "counter balanced"? So what is the benefit of additional weight in the grip?
Interesting test guys and shows the swing speed training is paying off - surprised a club with that pedigree doesn't appear to have any adjustment in the head - possible missed opportunity?
Hi Guys, could you get your hands on the irons aswell ( either X or Prime) and give your opinion on them.....? I understanding that they are for the golfer with a lower swing speed.... I am one of them.....so I am curious what the will do in your hands..
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Macgregor was making cup face clubs before Calloway back in early 2000's i have a set of their NVG irons which were cup face
Wasn't it Macgregor who invented CUPFACE tech in their very innovative NVG driver.. Same as jailbreak.. That first was used on Snake Eyes fireforged Compressor driver in 2004.. Callaway, as always, just copied.
I never had a desire to hit one of these as my golf store has been selling them for several years but they are $700 . If you have that kind of money to buy one, by all means, go for it, but not me !
I think it’s pronounced ‘sexio’ . The forged irons and the hybrid is very good. Easy to hit. I don’t know if they were first but Macgregor had cupface 2008.
So whats the relationship between Srixon Cleveland and XXIO? Are they all under the Srixon umbrella? They're all under Dunlop in Japan but headquarters in Huntington Beach
this is a super popular brand out of Japan. Many senior Korean players enjoy this brand. Don’t think these are targeting young people.. just recently it tries to reach down to younger players.
KE=1/2MV^2 - its just physics- speed improvement is squared- not sure why you are so surprised- :-) Efficiency still king for average, but what about the bomb ball?
Sales of 45 gram driver shafts and ultra thin light grips just went threw the roof ....will we be seeing people putting lighter shafts in their m6s and epic flashes trying to gain 3mph ?
Between the "10 finger it" and "I like a bit of grip on my shaft" I thought I had stumbled across a completely different TH-cam channel!
What TH-cam channels have you been looking at Justin? 😂😂😂
Just in time for funniest TH-cam comment of 2019. Good 1
Didn't he mention something about swingers as well?
Great review. I have been gaming this driver since November and it is the real deal. Going in there was no way that a light weight shaft was going to work for me but it does. Same for me: the best driver I ever used. I immediately gave my epic to my son...

The laws of physics now need rewriting as 262 is no longer the coefficient of Crossfieldness.
It is a beautiful driver...and yes that does have a Black Panther like look to the logo.

I used to game a Srixon XX10 3 and 5 wood. The 5 wood was an absolute rocket!! I loved it! That was probably about 2005.
Thanks for testing this driver!! Look at you every day! Happy new year From sweden!!
Best driver I've ever owned, the lightness and flexibility compensates for my swing flaws.
Thanks for making me smile Gents! Great vid
Had a Srixon XXIO Hot about 15 years ago, one of the now illegal hot face drivers it was ok but the matching fairways were fantastic, long and felt great.
Great review as always. Nice to see you reviewing a club from Dunlop Sports Co, will we see it in Dan bag with bigger grip?
Really wanted to see a 10-finger-step-through with this club
Would like to see a test with TS3 and a 45 gram shaft to see if you get similar gains in speed.
Mark, It pronounces like "Zexio". From a Japanese golfer
...said with Sean Connery's accent...
Exio as Expensive O..
I tried the "9" in 10.9 head and reg shaft. Compared to other drivers my swing speed and ball speed were faster but I was pulling it. You mean 180 (degrees) to face the opposite direction - a 360 turn leaves you facing the same (original) direction. (Common mistake.) Just saying.
Right. Duh 🙄
Good review thanks boy’s
Gamed XXIO irons and sold a tonne of them in New Zealand - would recommend generally to any player that swings under 90mph with driver
(With a big wallet)
Is that your new studio?Nice! Great review as always.
Great review/ Thank you.
So if you had to pick between this and the Launcher Turbo?
Get the Launcher Turbo and take a holiday with the money you save.
I tested them both and I prefer the Xxio, but it’s quite personal, based on your swing speed
Tried it back to back with the Srixon z785. Preferred the z785. Same day I tried the XXIO forged '6' irons, normally have graphite shaft for slow swing speeds, but the one I tested had a stiff steel shaft, loved it. Great feel. You should test those.
Your sponsor might want you to pronounce it like Zeksio
You're not supposed to change the grip, the length, or the swing weight on these clubs.
A XXIO official fitter just told me they can build clubs with medium grips, without impacting the balance.
@@andrearuffino they lied to you then. Unless they are putting weight in the head, bit that defeats the purpose of this club
@@alverniagolfer73 The grips are Winn dri Tack lite.
I have tried this brand at my local practice range . Very light club. I would love to see you test Honma . I game a complete set of the 2018 TW737 Series . They have come out with so many other sets since then and very affordable.

"Dan is 278, ... I'm 273..." pissing competition boys 😜😋
Definitely change the grip for me I use 6 papers in my driver I would be scared it would fly into a tree or creek with that grip 😂 good video guys 👍
I got a new driver this year tried pxg cobra ping titliest callaway ect. Srixon was my best numbers by far.

Welcome to JDM world, brah!!
My understanding of CB for a driver is the head can be more massive (the Pings lately have been 203g+ vs sub-200 TMs) which puts more mass behind the ball
Xxio is trying to fill the senior void left when Adam's kicked the bucket. They are at a very premium price point.
Nice to see a review of a Japanese club other than Mizuno or Srixon, should give a try to PRGR , Fourteen ..... also
Asian size grips for extremely small hands. Nice clubs, but I struggle every time I hit those as they don’t have a decent thickness on the grip. I play midsize with 4 layers on the bottom
Optimus prime...!! Great speed guys.. but I think you'll swing cheaper drivers faster... great vid guys xx
XXIO X 2020 is for "better" player . X 2018 and Eleven 2020 are for slower swing speeds . I gained 6 MPH ball speed against everything on 2018 X driver . I'm 85 mph swing . The Zek shi oh is premium brand of clubs in Asia
The asian clubs are lighter than western clubs which tend to be heavier
Other premium brands like OnOff, Yamaha, Akira also have light weight features

Looks nice, I love Japanese drivers, currently gaming a Vega. 7 yeas old now still a beast but just upgraded to a bit of new Mizuno tech. They are owned by/own Cleveland:Srixon:Myazaki do they not?
The line up is like the decepticon emblem 🤔
Best driver ever played xxio x black driver.
Is it the light driver or the swingspeed training you've been doing ?
Great looking driver, but I’m not big into light clubs. They feel like the head is moving all over the place and I can’t get them square at impact.
Had xxio driver 15-20 years ago. They were a reasonable price back then. Good vid. Mark, what is the grip?
XXIO uses their own grip. You can get the XXIO Plus grip. They will also put Winn Dri-Tac mid size on them on request.
The Japanese were doing cup face before Callaway and I think Jesse Ortiz with Bobby Jones Golf put it in his drivers before Callaway.
the peak height numbers for both of you were very high - crank down the loft and see if you can get the launch to 13-14 degrees - think you would then see some 280 carries if you did
I have gamed one in the past, must be 15 years ago when they first came to this Country, from memory feel was good, distance was good, but wasn’t very friendly
Team - one of you may know but I'm sure I read somewhere that Jack Nicklaus used lead tape under his grips. So that would be classed as "counter balanced"? So what is the benefit of additional weight in the grip?
Lower swing weight.
It looks like the graphics on the sole are a TourEdge Exotics rip-off.....nice review anyway. Thanks Mark!
I think I saw this Driver in the lingerie section of the Grattan catalogue in the early 90s 🥰
Interesting test guys and shows the swing speed training is paying off - surprised a club with that pedigree doesn't appear to have any adjustment in the head - possible missed opportunity?
The standard Xxio buyer who buys one after a proper fit, usually doesn’t tinker much and will never change its specs...
A club fitter once told me that skinnier grips gives you a faster swing speed...is this true?
Good question... Anybody?
Hi Guys, could you get your hands on the irons aswell ( either X or Prime) and give your opinion on them.....?
I understanding that they are for the golfer with a lower swing speed.... I am one of them.....so I am curious what the will do in your hands..
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Macgregor was making cup face clubs before Calloway back in early 2000's i have a set of their NVG irons which were cup face

Lite weight as I’m 70 and I can hit these 6 iron 190 7 170 etc etc nice control and feel
the Muppets Swingers club... ooh, Matron!
Good review fellas. Driver looks very close to the Honma XP-1, don't you think? Price points will be close too.
Compare against Srixon drivers please
Interesting. So will you all game it then?
I use XXIO driver and hybrids in Korea with pretty good results. Looking to buy some for my UK set.
Very exy as expensive...
i use the rescue they are fantastic
Google goes nuts with XXIO driver searches 😂😂😂
Jay Byrne exactly. These clubs are in my mentions all the time.
Colors of alignment aid remind me of the original Transformers... Optimus Prime!
Launch a bit higher than usual for you Mark ? Reckon a lower loft would suit you better?
I never had a desire to hit one of these as my golf store has been selling them for several years but they are $700 .
If you have that kind of money to buy one, by all means, go for it, but not me !
I think it’s pronounced ‘sexio’ . The forged irons and the hybrid is very good. Easy to hit.
I don’t know if they were first but Macgregor had cupface 2008.
So whats the relationship between Srixon Cleveland and XXIO? Are they all under the Srixon umbrella? They're all under Dunlop in Japan but headquarters in Huntington Beach
Yup they're all in the same company including Miyazaki shafts.
Nice looking driver, haven't seen them in my area. Would have to be 30 yards longer to consider at that price.
What about if it’s not longer, but always in play?
please, any chance you could review the new rbz from you know who!?
this is a super popular brand out of Japan. Many senior Korean players enjoy this brand. Don’t think these are targeting young people.. just recently it tries to reach down to younger players.
Young people usually have faster swing speed: Xxio targets swing speeds lower than 95mph
Compare against your old ts3???
"It's not cheap, is it?"
That's the thing. I'd rather use a Cleveland driver for a fraction of the price and wear earplugs.
KE=1/2MV^2 - its just physics- speed improvement is squared- not sure why you are so surprised- :-) Efficiency still king for average, but what about the bomb ball?
I play XXio irons which are light as well
Can you review the same model fairway wood??
I like the look
Cup face ....surely that's from Tour Edge Exotics combo brazing tech years ago
I've never seen anyone with an XXIO in the bag. I've only seen a couple in real life.
The Catfox lineup line
You’ve been here awhile Bruh! One of my favorite classics 😅
I forgot about that! Tried looking for the video but did find this: th-cam.com/video/h046UGK2rjM/w-d-xo.html
Sales of 45 gram driver shafts and ultra thin light grips just went threw the roof ....will we be seeing people putting lighter shafts in their m6s and epic flashes trying to gain 3mph ?
Is the line up logo classed as a Holographic finish
Ok,,how much is it,,, love the 47g shaft idea,,🤔🎄⛄🤗
$699
I think you should try out Athalonz long drive shoes..
