    Funny. I'm mostly Finnish but also part Mi'kmaq from a few generations ago I'm like 1/8 or 1/16.. I forget if it was my great grandmother or my great/great grandmother who was Mi'kmaq but the ancient Finnish culture heavily utilized Birch also.

    Acadien here (from my father's side) hoping to learn more about the mi'kmaq culture as I know the Acadiens were close with the indigenous people and I may very well be descendant of the mi'kmaq people as well. Although my dad is not well versed in his family tree and no one really talked about said relationships as both the Acadiens and Aboriginal people were treated so poorly historically.
