In my opinion, I don't think it is climate change. It is a cycle! They had a drought 3 years ago, Lake Mead was almost dried up. Now it is replenished again. In the northern plains of North and south Dakota, and Minnesota, winter comes at the same time, like clockwork , two weeks before Thanksgiving. It is cold again, and won't be above 50 degrees until April.
"Never underestimate" They always do. Here in Monterey County we had our share of folks going airborne because of heavy rainfall and slick roadways. Take care, slow down and be safe.

@mikejohn0088 oh I'm sure. On board with all that. One of the biggest cloud seeding companies is in North Dakota- but those planes can't handle Arctic blasts. We already know how to thrive in 60 below ZERO temps (that's 90 below freezing) and move mountains of snow- we go ice fishing in January/February in sub zero temps with 40+ mph winds blowing across the lake. We drive on black ice & thru blizzards to get to work at hospitals and courthouses. We have 4WD, plow trucks, plows on ATV's, and Michelin or Blizzak tires, snowmobiles, side by sides with tracks and BaoFeng radios. We also have a proper relationship with fire up here in northern Minnesota. We have basements, no dams to fail, no hurricanes, rarely if ever a tornado and the best National Guard in the country- I can't wait to see what they think we can't handle. Short of a Noah event flood- I can only imagine. We who live in the land of 15,000 lakes, rivers, streams, swamps, marshes, ponds also have more than one watercraft and plenty of PFD's. We already hunt, fish and grow food indoors with multiple heat sources and generators. I say bring it...

Calling a blizzard an "Atmospheric River" is like calling the dead "unalived". How positively absurd! A blizzard is still a blizzard, and the dead is still dead. If you don't have the gazoombas to live life without a cushion then it's fitting that you stay in mommy and daddy's basement. Please do!
You all are in my heart. Be safe, take care of each other. Set aside all that keeps you from helping each and just help no matter who they are.
oh look! it's raining in the Bay Area in November. NO WAY
It's a thunderstorm. Happens every winter. "Bomb cyclone" "atmospheric river" lol.

@garygerard4290 thx for clarifying. 1685 pounds is nothing to mess with easier made heavier by carrying sand, soil and debris.
One of the few things I remember from school is water weighs 8.34 lbs. per gallon.
I live in WA State and we are still cleaning up from this storm. My sympathies to the folks in CA. Hoping everyone stays safe.

Atmospheric River sounds so......Like 'Rainstorm'....only different....Almost like 'rainstorm' needed a facelift....lol

Really Awesome ya All. Keep up the Good Work.
Good thing they just removed those dams along the Klamath.
Wow, they are trying really hard to make this a disaster.
This happens almost every year, lol.
Also catch the rain water and drink it but test it first you know ph levels and what not😊
In other words.... it rained
