As a former skater like X, or anyone who's ever been out skating, X really can't ignore the absurdity of the U.S. healthcare system. When you're outside skating, you know there’s a risk of getting hurt, whether it’s a broken bone, a sprain, or worse. But as a parent, that shouldn't be a fear that keeps you up at night, not because you're afraid of your kid getting hurt, but because you're terrified of what it will cost. You shouldn’t have to think, "If they fall and get hurt, I’m stuck with $20,000 in medical bills." The system should be designed to support you when accidents happen, not leave you in financial ruin. Think about it: you’re not skating to get injured. People don’t deliberately break their legs or bones for the healthcare benefits. Healthcare is not a service you can exploit. No one deliberately breaks their bones to receive healthcare. It's just an unfortunate consequence of engaging in a risky activity. And it’s the same for other accidents or injuries, these are, we call it in economics, negative externalities. In an ideal system, the state should help absorb those costs because it's a benefit for society as a whole. Healthcare, when it works, is like a safety net that catches us when life is bad. Imagineyou see someone on the street who’s sick, acting erratically. That’s a negative externality for you because their illness could harm you, spread disease. But when that person gets treated, it’s not just a win for them, it’s a win for you too. They’re no longer a source of risk or frustration to the public. Their well-being contributes to a healthier, happier society where people can go about their day without worry. The taxes that fund their treatment are an investment in reducing the larger societal costs of neglecting healthcare. When healthcare is designed as a shared responsibility, it’s not just about one person’s injury, it’s about creating a society where everyone is healthier and happier.

So why wasn’t there any justice for all of Brian Thompson’s murders he committed?

And even if he committed shady business practices, it is not up to you, me or anyone else to take someone else’s life. Everything he did was because he ran a public company. While I think XQC did a terrible job articulating any reasonable points, I do agree this whole glorification of a criminal, let alone murderer, is awfully dangerous. I agree the CEO was a terrible person who deserved to be at least incarcerated for what he did, which could have been achieved if people actually cared then and put in this amount of energy to practice their free speech. Instead they do it after a mentally ill man does something completely hypocritical to your ‘values’ with violence and gun control.
I have no sympathy for the CEO, but vigilantism is a dangerous slope to go down. It is also insane how easily people will allow crimes and let go of their values when it’s committed upon someone they disagree with, despite having never thought of them prior or never have been directly affected by them in their lives. If you have, I am sorry it happened, but I know it didn’t happen for the 99% of people virtue signaling for a murderer online.
the whole system is rotted, why would you expect that very system to uphold to true values or even serve justice
When the system is corrupted in order to protect the worst criminals, vigilantism becomes duty!

We aren't living in China brother, the people protesting now always had the rights to protest against this corruption, yet they didn't because most of them did not care until now. Half of the people currently protesting aren't even doing it for the right reasons, they just want the dude free rather than focusing on the actual issue at hand.
