- This ToneX pack is a Two Rock Traditional Clean, which is the successor to the John Mayer Signature. It’s a very clean amp with lush reverb, high headroom, big low end, sweet highs, and an overall 3D sound. Some call it a Super Reverb on steroids!
In this pack you get 10 studio profiles mic’d with an SM57 and Beyerdynamic 160. The profiles also include baked in overdrives like the TS10, Nordvang Gravity (Klone), and Keeley Katana. If you’re into John Mayer tone, this is the ToneX pack for you!

It’s a great pedal! I was on the fence until I found the right monitoring system for it. The headphone jack is super weak unless you use low impedance headphones.

Would love to buy this one. Do you know if it will sound good with the ToneX One -> Return Fx Loop-> real Cab setting? As it isn’t an DI capture but amp/cab capture. Of course with CAB off in the settings. Thanks in advance.

What does "BM" stand for?
also, what input gain level would you recommend to reach before the tonex for it sound this good? There is an extense debate about this input gain thing...some recommend to put the signal right before clipping, others around -18db...others to put the gain of sound interface to minimum and then push it inside tonex..thanks!
Thanks! BM stands for Bright/Mid which means the Bright and Mid switches were engaged on the amp.
For the input trim, I left it at the stock setting of +8.5 because I felt like most people would default to that setting.

I got the Headrush Prime in last week actually and did a test for the captures. It turned out pretty well but not up to my expectations. Mainly that’s a monitoring thing. I’ve found that I need to have certain monitoring systems for each type of amp modeler to get the results I want, which are “what you hear in the video is what I hear” type of thing. It’s getting close though!
@headlessxguitarist3926 I got something good! Just need to dial in the gain better so I don’t get clipping. But the amp capture, drives and envelope filter sound great.

hi john congratulations for the sounds you reproduce, they are all fantastic, can I ask you which of the three systems you prefer (kemper, fractal, tonex) leaving aside the limitations of tonex but as a final result which of the three systems gives you the best sensation of playing a real amplifier?
Hmmm. It’s so hard to say mainly because I have to use different monitoring systems for each one. The Kemper and Tonex require much lower impedance headphones for me to get the volumes I like. Overall I prefer the Fractal capture I created. Just a bit more sustain.

100% the ToneX! Running through my Focusrite 18i8. No post processing. All reverb from the ToneX. Overdrives are baked into the captures.

where did you get the reverb and delay from?
No delay on this one. Probably just the slight pre-delay you’re hearing. The reverb is the built in plate on the ToneX pedal!
