Hello Bluedrake, thank you so much for highlighting Total Conflict: Resistance (TC:R)! The game does have a few shortcomings, ranging from the tactical battle itself to the strategy layer. But it is really an honour for us to benchmark this game towards OHD, which I personally love for its robust gameplay system and mod support it has. Kudos! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Quadcore, Moderator for the TC:R Discord and Steam. I would also like to address some of the points you made in the video. Mod Support is one of the most requested suggestions that players wanted in the game. We do acknowledge that, and should be released sometime soon! Along with improvement on all fronts, The Developers are working on the SDK and the Scenario Editor, as well as fixing bugs that are currently encountered in-game. There is a discussion on including multiplayer, it is already been considered but only when all parts of the single player has been fully addressed (New Features, Mechanics, etc.) For others, feel free to ask me on this comment, or go join the Steam Discussions and Discord (link on Steam) to directly engage with the team!
Wouldnt it be wise to address multiplayer before new other features? It would get you alot of new players because people playing it now would show it to their friends and want them to join... I could imagine this game REALLY great and fun in multiplayer or at least coop
@@specki9433 Hello Specki9433. Thank you for your suggestion! It is no secret that Coop/MP is one of the most suggested features for TC:R. Your reason why it should be, are valid, and I agree with you. However, there are several challenges that the Dev team is currently facing, notably: 1. The team that works on TC:R is rather quite small, and can only work one thing at a time, and; 2. The general focus is that they wanted to improve the gameplay first, before moving to more global features (e.g. MP/Mods). Their current short-term goal is a feature-complete SP first with Improved AI, Nation management, and fewer bugs happen during normal gameplay. As for Multiplayer/Coop itself, it will be planned sometime this year. However, do keep in mind that the devs wanted to finish SP-related features before moving on to MP
@@dotQuadcore thanks for the answer! Be adding that to my wishlist. Total conflict. Reminds me of world in conflict, the console stragey from Ubi back in the day. Couldn't take control of individual tanks, helicopters, arty ect, but you could on the unit level and get the camera basically down to a 3rd person view. This opens that gate. Love it
The reason why games aren't popular like this: strategy squad/war games aren't appreciated anymore. Please do another video on Black One Blood Brothers - it got another update and it has an enjoyable campaign.
It's sad that strategy games are dying now and that SEGA and CA have basically destroyed the TW brand as well. Maybe people just have less time to invest in games and its easier to just play a round or two of an fps instead of taking a week of on and off play to finish a campaign.
first 40 secs already got my Like. Its easy to bash others and see drama, but its much more useful, productive and GOOD - to help others. Your channel is big, which I'm pleasantly surprised with, and helping other, sane, normal developers, could be a great thing indeed
The hybrid FPS / RTS approach superficially reminds me of Silica, though there are many differences in the details (such as Silica being MP). I think both TCR and Silica are exploring a really cool niche. I heard one dev interview say that learning to make a game MP (and good MP) can be a real challenge, so I won't pressure TCR to jump on the MP right away. But if it should happen some day either with this game or its sequel, that would be even cooler. Great stuff!
I have had this game since its first demo when a lot of the Resistance forces consisted of Peasants with single shot open sight rifles and they were no match for the Opposing Forces and their Modern weapons. Now battles are far more even and even the Instant Battle can last for ages. It has come so far and is a really good game as you can play whatever style suits you from RTS to FPS.👍
The m4 style rifle with the p90 mag, is the AR57. 57 meaning 5.7 rounds. Its an interesting weapon for military fps though, because I don’t think its actually seen any service. Anyway, love your work Bluedrake, ive gotten back into OHD the past couple of days diue to your last playtest video. Its come a long way. Congrats to your team. Yall should be proud!!
My wild guess is that devs wanted to add in the P90 problem is that most game just treat any kind of 5.56 as the samme ammo even for guns in 5.56 that in real life can´t use each other bullets. problem whit the P90 and the FN Five-seveN is that thoes are currently the only two guns in 5.7 so devs are like we need more guns usuing that caliber.

@@ScrumPMC I see that raised a lot in the forums but the answer is no, absolutely not the same company and this game is actually being developed and updated unlike the other abandonware.
@ScrumpGlobal yeah there is another title under the company name that is developed by some other guy, saw someone ask about it on this games forum and a dev responded saying it was another guy but he was dealing with some real life issues or something. As I can see from this footage - the developers still haven't fixed one really glaring issue for me personally - aiming. I dunno maybe it's just me - but tiny movements while aiming are exaggerated (it's almost as if the game had some weird hidden mouse acceleration) which makes REALLY difficult to shoot more mid-to-far range targets. If they fixed it - this alone would bringe me back to try it again.

I'd love to see the game that looks like Squad or Arma-like realisic shooter with tanks and aviation, but also as an RTS like Warno when you play as commander and control units who are real players, and choose what units they will be.
The game literally lacks tactical interaction. We need a system that will link the interaction of squads, but will not be severely restrictive. Fast but poorly armed vehicles for assault squads, slow but with powerful weapons for support. This will not break the balance, because there are anti-tank infantry. Medics almost no one plays, engineers and machine gunners too.
