Amazing video, and very responsible. Saying "take care of your mental health" isn't exactly uncommon nowadays, buy saying it AND RECOMMENDING TO SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP is, and I'm glad you did it.
Great job, man. Thanks for the video.

Thanks, I wanted to talk about my experience with mental health but I didn't want to talk about things I have no business talking about. Thanks for the kind comment.

Super important video! Mental health is key to long term productivity and just general well-being :D
Impostor syndrome is especially difficult as well- it’s good to see more devs talk about this topic😄

A while back, a physics lecturer I had in college told our class about a conference she had attended early in her career. She felt like a total imposter--here she was surrounded by all these brilliant and accomplished people, and it felt like everyone was so much smarter and more qualified.
She turned to this older gentleman next to her and just sort of blurted out something like "I feel like I don't belong here. Everyone's a genius with an incredible CV, and I'm barely muddling my way through. Does it ever get better?" He smiled at her, and confessed that he, too, had felt that way his whole career and often still did.
It was about that time she realised his nametag said "Neil Armstrong."

A timely video for me. Been feeling imposter syndrome quite strongly myself and it does coincide with some neglecting of my mental health recently. Things got busy, I had to cut some corners, and I cut the things that maintain and uplift my mental health. Once I re-prioritized them, cut a few things that were draining my time and energy, and started defending some boundaries better. The Imposter Syndrome has eased up.
One idea I had, for my own fight against IS, was helping others. I started answering 1 question a day on the Godot Forums or Godot Discord. I generally focus on beginner questions, but every couple days when I'm feeling cheeky, I find a question I don't already know the answer to and figure it out. I learn something, I get to show mastery of Godot, and I feed back into the community while I'm at it. All good things for my mental health, and a regular reminder I'm not the beginner I once was.

You're an inspiration! It's funny, I wanted to put up a similar video on my channel - and still do - and while doing research I've found a very unique take on the matter here with this video! I respect the fact that you kept things real when talking about mental health and your personal struggles. Great video, keep it up!

You made a super important point when saying it's something internal and external factors are not going to fix it!
One good example is participating in the Next Fest or any award show. It can increase the feeling of being a fraud because you're part of something much bigger than you, with lots of other super talented devs and studios!
Even if external factors are not going to fix it, it can be immensely helpful to know that we're not alone feeling like an impostor. Great video as always!

I've never had a problem with impostor syndrome! Does it have something to do with my total lack of success? 🤔
Nah, I must just be genuinely awesome and I'm sure I'll still feel this way when I am successful.

I know the feeling of imposter syndrome, but i just want to say that you don't have to live up to the humongous games as shown in the thumbnail, make what you want to make and it if it's good it will find an audience!
