This interview is so important for the future of sound.
Totem totally blew my mind, probably the best I have heard next to Audio Note.
I would choose Totem easily for the price. I finally get why it sounds so amazing. Those driver baskets are simply stunning. Yep I get it .

Totem maximizing value for money yet designing and manufacturing in NA is so gratifying! Makes me want to run out and buy a pair!

What an informative review. So interesting . Vince is one of those very special people who have a passion for what they do. Living in Montreal and speaking to him personally on numerous occasions at Le Salon de l’Audio, he was always there and very approachable. I am now the proud owner of a pair of Bison Twin Towers and I just love them. Your observations were spot on. I drive them with a Willsenton R8 alternating with a Naim Nait 5-2. They both give me goose bumps with hi quality recordings. My 5 minute listening sessions typically last 1 1/2 hours or more. Great product. The people working for Totem Acoustics are all professional and kind. I could not be happier with my purchase… and your interview. Please keep it up!

Great interview. My Metal V2s are absolutely wonderful. There’s more engineering to those speakers than other speakers selling for much more money.

Memories of the Model one introduction at CES and the amazing first Torrent speaker years later. Favorite story was that
his early speakers were always compared to the reproduction of his neighbors Grand Piano.

    Cracking interview!
Now I want to hear Totems. Never had the pleasure.
    Thanks so much, Simon!

I just watched a GR Research video and Danny was trashing a Totem speaker. He clearly didn't understand the brilliance in the design. He disregarded the seemingly simplistic design. I would love to see an interview with Danny and Vince and watch Vince humiliate Danny with his ignorance and arrogance. The audacity of someone who thinks he knows more than the actual brand designer is just astounding.

He is the genius he is.
His speakers sound so natural, so rhythmic, so crunchy, so organic and all the elements appear so holographic and disappear so quick.

Great interview, Simon! Vince is such an interesting and down to earth person. I’ve heard the Totem Tribe towers and was hugely impressed but at double the cost of the Bison Towers, well above my pay grade. I will start saving for the Bisons though!

Interesting interview. He is a very genuine fellow and is so enthusiastic about his product. I am one year into their Signature One after 12 or so years with the Rainmaker. Really enjoying the new one. He mentioned that a lot of people gripe about the looks but I think they look fantastic. Rather subtle but very classic and timeless. Great products that don’t get enough attention.

I thought he was down to earth too which is nice. Sometimes speaking to some British sales people they can be intimidating. It’s always the designers who come across nicest

THank you for this highly informative and interesting interview with one of the Canadian speaker designer masters (Paul Barton from PsB is another one)!

Great interview!! I'm really interested in the Bison Tower. I have a Sugden A21 Signature integrated amp--do you think that would be a good match?

I gather Dr Vince used to be a physics professor so we can thank our lucky stars he also has our passion for high fidelity.
Happy to see you further along in the journey with Totems Simon. More harmonic bliss to you mate.

    The Totem Forest incorporates the
Hi Vi Research D 6.8 driver.
    That speaker costs 140.00 Canadian.
The tweeter even less. Crossovers although high quality account for a few hundred more.
The Totem Forest sells for no less than 5600.00 Canadian a pair.. Borosilicate lined double veneered cabinets with internal bracing cannot justify the cost.
The general public may listen and be impressed by all the talk of exact speaker pairings for timing alignment. These claims are just used to entice buyers and inflate the price asked.
Now the Torrent driver is different.
    But that’s another conversation.
Getting 6.5 inch Hi Vi Research woofers to perform in any well designed cabinet only produces so much. This is the reality of moving mass.

Funny fact: the logo of your channel IS a totem!!!!
