I was worried this was going to be a depressing video, but those comments were just too stupid to be truly offensive.

As a homoromantic asexual, I cannot comprehend how blatantly ignorant and clueless some people can be after watching a literal video educating them on the subject at hand. Did they leave their device in another room, do they speak a foreign language and so couldn't understand what was said. It's not difficult to grasp. Give asexuality the same energy as you do all other orientations and identities.

I'd never thought about the importance of teaching microlabels before. I'm fully aroace so I fit the "standard" definition, and it never occurred to me that others with microlabels have even more explaining to do than I do. Shout out to that random aphobe for creating a moment to shed light on that important issue

I like how one of the arguments against the A being ace is that they don't want hetero's overwhelming the community, then they decide it means Ally. About 1% of the population are ace and not all of us are even hetero but by definition ally's are always hetero and I think (well, hope) they make up well above 1% of the population.

    Aro-ace vent !!
So its 2am and I was really hungry so I went downstairs and my mom let me have some food. While I ate, i complained about my ex, and she recommended me to tell my ex (basically he keeps harassing me about getting back together) that I am asexual, I thought it might be a nice time to come out to her, (as Aro-ace) and she told me I was wrong, confused, and the label I was comfortable with was silly and unnatural. She brought up that she was a-phobic, and I "just haven't really found serious love yet." She reminded me I've had many crushes in the past, and have been girl crazy. " I don't understand that sh#t, you can't just take yourself out of the dating pool. Its selfish, All humans have love, they just don't understand who yet." She kept telling me about how she's my mom, and she knows me better than I do.
I identify with the cupioromantic label (she\her) and lesbian
    Have a good day💙

kinda don't get why ace people get so much negativity from within the lgbt+ anyways. like..? an ace man is just as much not heterosexual as a gay man - shouldn't this be a uniting factor? and as an allo person it's not hard to understand either. think of someone you're not sexually attracted to, now imagine that you feel this way about everyone (i am obviously oversimplifying extremely here but i have found that this is a solid foundation to start on when talking to someone who's never heard of this before and depending on their response you can work on the details later)
i really dont get it. are they afraid that there's a finite resource of cishet niceness and if ace people want to be included in that, that homophobia will be on the rise again as the niceness runs out? is it this? fear and envy?
always like to remind myself that 99.9% of my irl experiences with other queer people have been positive and inclusive and that unfortunately online comments. just are. like that. :/
    edit: spelling

  • @ohlookitsmystic

We can just collectively ignore the loud screech of excitement when I realized you too were aceflux... On a more serious note, it surprising how uneducated some people are, it's not that hard of a concept to understand. I don't get why people are so mad at the fact that some people don't experience sexual attraction, it's not hurting or harming anyone. I hope we can get to a point where people are understanding and accepting of asexuality because it doesn't need to be this huge debate. Thank you for a video like this!!

Yea, I saw that video. I thought it was quite good. And I read a few of those despicable and hate-filled comments. I wasn't surprised to see them, but they did very much enrage me. It took almost every ounce of my willpower to not verbally lay into every last one of them. After everything you do to debunk ace myths and educate people about asexuality, there are still many people who do us like this. This kind of crap is a constant reminder of how much hope I've lost in humanity.
But at the very least, the ace allies and fellow ace-spec members give me some glimmer of hope.
But as for the Aphobes: I hope that they rot!
    Sorry for this long rant.
    I hope you're doing well, Sam🖤💜💚♠️🤘

Hmmmm, It's an ancient and magical ritual that takes place in the forests found in the deepest and darkest caves. That ritual leads to a paper which a note which reads: "They do it the same way non-asexuals do it, is that so hard to believe?".

People who say that aspec should not be in the LGBTQ+ community are gatekeeping, and thats really not what we are about. The community is about acceptance, and love, and helping people feel welcome. Gatekeeping helps nobody, and people really need to stop. Everyone is valid 💚🤍🖤
