Exploring California in a Classic Porsche Cayenne

- At the crack of dawn, Los Angeles natives Dimi Dorbacopoulos and Dan Green throw the last of their camping gear into the back of their 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo and embark on a scenic camping adventure.
The pair like to keep things minimal and travel with only the essentials: a Porsche roof tent, an additional Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) and some overnight equipment. The 450km drive along US Highway 39 is a cherished ritual - one that allows the couple to bond and grow closer to each other.
Bypassing LA's morning traffic, they head for their first stop: Red Rock Canyon State Park, where they grab lunch and stretch their legs. Then it's on to Lone Pine, nestled in the shadow of Mount Whitney, for a quick look around the movie-famous Alabama Hills. Once their curiosity is satisfied, Dimi and Dan hop over to Buckley Ponds for a quick paddle. Finally, as the early afternoon fades into dusk, the couple heads for their overnight stop - the majestic Volcanic Tableland. For the nimble yet powerful Porsche Cayenne, it's all in a day's work.

This is one of the reasons why Porsche is a lovable brand. Unlike most car manufacturers only care about maximizing profit by selling new cars, Porsche takes pride in their older models and take care the customers with their classic Porsche.

Cool that they have added the ability to put a new PCM in. I'm just starting an overland build on our 2012 Q7 Tdi, but it's head unit is still pretty decent.

I am the owner of Cayenne S 2009 model. I would like to upgrade my unit to PCCM+ however Porsche service sent me a quote that $3220 actually you can buy a very clean same model Cayenne S around $6500. If you guys have a reasonable price of course I want to upgrade my PCCM but I cannot pay half price of the car for that.
When parked in LA, this wasn't looted nor were you carjacked?

Here I am trying to save my 2013 Cayenne diesel with 300K KM, previous owner didnt care of it that well, have solved most issues with the exception of an oil leak and another issue, was quoted 29K by porsche... :(

The Classic PCCM won't keep you warm on a snowy mountain.
I would keep my classic Cayenne close to a Porsche specialist.
I'd like it for 958, as now I should put a Сhinese microscheme inside my original PCM to have carplay or android auto there.
