It's using bypass diodes on each cell. It's a known remedy for partly shading. a bit more expensive in production and parts. A shaded cell is not only non producing but also non conducting. The bypass diode enables the current from the other to bypass that cell.
The ability of this panel to work with that much shade, is very impressive. I agree with you... I have not seen any panel reviewed that tolerates as much shade. (yet, as of 2024-02) There is one "oddity". First, I don't see any UL 61730 on the Spec sheet... whereas their residential panel has it. That means it isn't going to resist Hail. (Unless it has it and they just forgot to put that in their literature. The residential panel has it on their website page, but also lacks it in the literature, which I don't like not seeing it there.) The residential panel (430W) doesn't seem to have a "high volt" option like the 100W panel ... not sure why. Thank you for making this video! (For a follow up, if you mount them back to back, almost like a bifacial... how many watts does it put out?)

Nice panel, good review.

I was really shocked at it's performance. Thanks for watching Marc!
