In a season where so many have endured, sacrificed and lost during this pandemic, I am saddened that the state of my marriage has diverted your attention. Many among us are grieving in silence without support and I do not believe that our issues should take centre stage especially at a time when God's people and the world are in such crisis.
However, I do ask for your indulgence as I break my silence...

Thank you for sharing this publicly. As a young woman who watched my mom go through abuse and was told by Pastors that she should stay and honour her marriage was painful to think about as I endured emotional abuse and adultery in my own marriage. Even though scripture said I had grounds for divorce I was still told to stay. I stayed for 5yrs after the first incident and then it continued and started to repeat a cycle. That’s when I knew it was time I do the hard thing and leave. I did it for my girls and my son. I wanted my girls to know that staying in a relationship with a man who mistreats you is not love no matter how much he says he loves you.
Judith, I was that little girl who danced at your wedding and saw the beauty of it. It grieves me to know that it has ended but I stand with you in owning your story and taking your voice back. You speaking up empowered me to continue to press on towards this painful road of divorce.
    God bless you!❤️

This was BEAUTIFUL. I was RCM's member #20 (according to my membership card) over 20 years ago. I left Canada 17 years ago so I haven't been privy to any of what's been happenign there, but recently someone mentioned something to me and I went online to see if there was a statement from RCM or from you. I'm so blessed by what you said here and truly, I'm so sorry that I didn't even think to cover you in prayer all those years ago because to my immature spiritual eyes everything "seemed" good. I apologize. I believe your latter will be greater than your former and your grace will not be tainted. God will continue to give you strength and open doors. I rarely say this to anyone but, "I admire you, Pastor Judith, more now than at any other time". Be blessed. - Former Member of RCM

I am sooo sorry you endured this for so long. I have been a member of RCM over 5 years. I left right after the passing of your dad, Per the leading of the holy spirit. I knew something was not right. I chose not to judge or let it be my business. I have always seen you as my first lady, Spiritual Mother, Leader, and a woman of pure Grace and Godly Integrity and Character.. As Ruth told Naomi where u go I will go, your God will be my God. I will support whatever you put your hands to. Please keep us posted. I will continue to keep you both in prayer as you continue to heal in his Grace. Love you forever...

My heart is truly broken. I am so saddened to hear/see this union that I’ve respected, a solid rock that I’ve set presidents for my own marriage on and have profound love for my First Lady and Pastor have experienced such brokenness. I will always love you First Lady and my hope is to see you again. I love you dearly and your absence is felt every time I attend service; there is a void that you are not seen or heard. I will miss you.

May God bless and keep you. And may every good seed planted in this season bear bountiful fruit for generations to come.

There are no words 😶 at this time for me. This transparency brings tears to my eyes. I am chilled all over to hear your testimony. I stayed for 22 years and when I finally left even to this day I in my own quiet time blames myself. I as you did all I could - counseling and all but it was still a cycle. Thank you for sharing. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I didn’t realize how much I needed this Pastor Judith. Witnessing what has transpired over the past 18 months at RCM and in the global church for that matter has left me somewhat disillusioned. Your truth shared with such honour and grace has helped to restore my faith in the integrity of the people of God. Thank you.

You are absolutely right that Women (predominantly) in the Kingdom of God, face much alienation and suffer in silence.
I know first hand of this plight and will pray for you as God continues to heal and restore you.
As former attendee of RTT and former member of RCM I applaud your courage and I am happy to see you accept the "Beauty for Ashes".

I read this comment and a flood of emotions rose up in me. I’m choosing to empathize with your obvious disappointment and to disregard the undertone of judgment here. Being in leadership is a difficult place to be for many reasons. Unfortunately, you’re not given the same room to be REAL like we want or should be, because there’s a huge expectation to be super-human.
Women leaders, especially, are expected to walk with the public crown that is decorated with accolades, as well as, silent scorn. They have become experts at smiling, even though privately, their tears have been their meat day and night.
Nobody know, other than that person, what it truly feels like to steady the weight of that heavy crown! It is literally NECK BREAKING! trying to keep your head up and doing everything not to turn your head to acknowledge the whispers.
It’s even worse if you would dare to say, I’m dying under the weight of all this expectation.
I can’t say enough positive about my First Lady, knowing first hand, the wrestling back and forth it takes, to make this decision, knowing that you’re opening up your life for public scrutiny.
Judith is not the saviour or the enemy of relationships! She faces the exact struggles all of us do in a monogamy.
Let’s be fair and allow for people to be people. It’s great to admire things in others, but let’s not take away their opportunity to access the same Grace that is available to All of us.
“If God be God, SERVE HIM…”

She is done ,if two can't agree then don't walk. God hates divorce but God knows. Let go and let God.

    • @zozochichi
      @zozochichi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@angellajemison7846 God hates divorce like He hates gossiping, stealing, lying and enabling an abusive person to flourish their Satanic behaviour in a marriage.
Marriage is not forever covenant. IT’S A COVENANT BY CHOICE JUST LIKE OUR CHOICE TO LISTEN AND OBEY GOD. If it were a forever covenant Christ wouldn’t have told Jewish men the criteria to divorce their polygamous wives since they were historically divorcing women with any loose reason.
Christians are so myopic about all things marriage, sex and controlling women that we have built our own petty doctrine concerning marriage.
The hate God has for divorce is no different from the hate he has for people who cheat on their taxes (93% of Christians don’t declare every single income they make.
Some churches blow up receipts for church member donations to cheat on taxes) yet Christ gave a direct righteous ORDER about giving Caesar his due based Caesars RULE and obeying the government regardless of its hatred towards He Christ Himself.
We always pull “God Hates Divorce” like a magic wand because subconsciously the dogma of marriage has misogynistic layers from the history of cultural and tribal practices on gender roles.
      WHICH IS:
Men own women. Husbands own their wives. Submission has been excused for subservience.
Love required by the man unconditionally towards his wife has been reduced to merit based privilege.
If you HIT, man-handle, financially and verbally abuse your wife, she must and should divorce you. You have broken the vow of loving her as Christ loved the church that HE DIED FOR THE CHURCH!
I’ll plead with my own biological sister to forgive adultery by her husband if she can -- but I will unequivocally support her to divorce him if he is verbally, physically and financially abusive. That’s a slave master not a husband.
Women do not marry to become slaves.
God hates divorce, just like HE hates slavery that HE killed the first borns of Egypt to deliver HIS beloved Israel.
If you enslave a woman emotionally, physically and financially, the marriage must DIE for her to be released from that slavery.
It’s about time misogynistic church doctrine that makes men feel they own women once they marry them - be done away with.
If you abuse a woman, she MUST leave you. PERIOD!
