You have to adjust your attitude to people for what their personalities are both plentiful/lacking in. For example: you wouldnt sing the praises of a narcissist, because their personality doesnt warrant the necessity of doing so; TLDR, they dont need you to talk about how great they are cuz they already do that themselves. Same deal: you wouldnt talk shit about someone with a low self esteem, cuz they dont need you to do something they themselves already do all the time. So in Delta’s case, she IS an adult person, but her personality doesnt warrant the necessity to treat her as someone you’d talk about ‘battle tactics’ or ‘quantum physics’ with. i.e, treat her like a child/dog cuz she doesnt act like anything else. Cid IS selfish, and IS self centered, but he ISNT a narcissist, because he doesnt sing his own praises or brag about his accomplishments cuz gloating in general isnt very cool. Cid is on a pedestal because in his desire to become “the one who makes everything happen without anyone knowing it” ie, the “Eminence in Shadow”, he unintentionally made himself seem like a God because he simply doesnt think its cool to talk about his accomplishments; giving the impression that he “has everything figured out” when in reality, he just spitballs in the moment, later shuts tf up, and only finds out after the fact whether the outcome to any situation was desirable or not.
Not sure if you know but the opening this episode changed I suspect it changes based on his assumed persona atm, it was shadow black and red image in the opening in this episode it changed to John smith with his mask off in the same color scale.
You wouldnt say you treat your newborn baby as a “pet” because it sounds weird, but that’s essentially what youre doing, as both pets and babies function fundamentally the same: they are very primitive creatures with very basic levels of intellect, and they basically run on biological autopilot, where they live in the moment, and only have simple desires that can easily be met: water, food, shelter, and security. So, when Cid says Delta is like a pet, hes saying shes simple in nature like a baby, or a puppy.
I think, at most, half of all of the girls of Shadow Garden are romantically attracted to Shadow/Cid, while, at the least, half of the girls aren’t romantically attracted to him, but wouldnt be opposed to being his should he ask for it. With Epsilon/Beta being in the former group and Delta/Alpha being in the latter. Again, remember; Cid is likely younger than all of the 7 shades, yet he still raised them. So theyre essentially his kids, and Delta acts like a dog through and through. Im pretty sure he does LOVE them, but his way of showing affection is through a sense of indifference and an “overconfident” and “lax” attitude regarding his loved ones’ safety, oddly enough(like “pfftt, theyll be fineee. I’ll get around to saving them later lol”) In Delta’s case, shes like the pet of the Shadow family, and shes treated not like a pet as in shes less human, but as a pet as in she possesses a very basic level of intellect and has very simple ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ that can be easily met.
I have a shiny silver wizard robe my friends made me awhile back. Its hood is big enough to hide my face; so I am going to try and jump scare my niece and nephew maybe some others by sitting in a chair outside hiding my skin and when they knock on the door say boo. I have about a 50% chance they see through it. But I will still have fun trying.
