You're very welcome James, it was a beautiful garden to visit and one of the most relaxing to be in too, especially the area with the large blocks of grasses. Take care.
What a lovely garden with lots to see. I don't think I've ever seen such a large display of Nicotiana. I've just been deadheading my little patch. Weren't those baby ducklings sweet?
It''s a very beautiful garden with lots of inspiration. It's a shame it's not closer to us though as it took over two hours to get to! It was so lovely to watch the mother duck taking her babies out for a wonder. They are so protective over their young aren't they? We really liked the cut flower beds with all the calendula, zinnias, cosmos and all that Nicotiana. Some lovely shades of antirrhinums too. It's been a little disappointing this week weather-wise. The sun has been out a little today, but it's quite cloudy. Hope you have a great week/weekend. Take care xxx
Thanks for sharing. A friend just mentioned this garden this evening and I’ve never been before. They are holding their annual plant fair at the weekend! I’m very tempted! Only an hour away!
You're welcome Matthew. It's a very beautiful garden and I'd definitely recommend a visit with you being fairly close. If we lived a little closer we would be tempted to visit at the weekend when the plant fair is on! Hope you get to go and enjoy your visit.
Hi guys. Thank you, thank you for that tour of Scampston walled garden. I've only been once before but was greatly impressed with it. I did suggest it as a visit with our U3A gardening group but the lady who arranges the visits didn't think it suitable as it was by guided tour only and with small groups.
Thanks Margery, glad you enjoyed it. It has been on our list of places to visit for years and this year we finally got around to going. We love the work of Piet Oudolf. That's a shame about your gardening group organiser not thinking it was suitable. I'm sure many of the group would have loved to see it. Take care.
What a beautiful garden to explore. Thanks for sharing with us in the US.
