I have always had a strong love for prince every since I was 2 or 3 years old . I was literally obsessed with this man, and when he died I cried like a baby it hurt as if it was my own father. I’m now 24 yrs old and just last year I had a weird dream about him visiting me and I swear to god it seemed so real and out of this world. IMO - I think Prince messed up by not helping these guys out more. It's not like he didn't have enough music or a studio where they could go and create. But did Prince actually right his wrongs?...or was he in the process of? Morris Day said he always got ripped off by Prince. Apple is cool to be so respectful about Prince, but "try" and "do" are two different words. Prince shouldn't have been so greedy in the first place.
Prince's assistant clarified a few things about the incident Morris referred to (when Prince supposedly invited him to do a show but changed his mind last minute) ..and prince wasn't ripping him off...Prince himself didn't invite Morris to perform in the first place. Prince's lawyer got bold and made the offer without asking Prince. Eventually, Prince did pay Morris for the flight and his musician's time but for doing essentially nothing, since Prince didn't invite him and Morris didn't perform. This is according to Ruth Arzate (who's on twitter) who worked for Prince from 2003 to early 2010. She was pissed about the story. She said she felt for Morris at the time, but his account of the story is not the reality. Even though he could be cheap, he wasn't that cheap. She said HE always paid for traveling expenses even for sound engineers he decided not to us. Morris probably didn't want to deal with the machine around Prince and its understandable but he is fibbing on this one. He also would get annoyed that Prince booked the Inn next to paisley park in Chanhausen for him instead of swank place in Minneapolis. Well, it was not cheapness. It was convenience. The Inn was within walking distance of Paisley Park. A ton of people stayed there. Some even lived there while they worked with Prince.
So then on the last Arsenio interview, when he mentioned that he stopped to watch Take Me With U, that must have been either what sparked things or that he was trying to get a message out to Apollonia.

But did Prince actually right his wrongs?...or was he in the process of? Morris Day said he always got ripped off by Prince. Apple is cool to be so respectful about Prince, but "try" and "do" are two different words. Prince shouldn't have been so greedy in the first place.

Prince's assistant clarified a few things about the incident Morris referred to (when Prince supposedly invited him to do a show but changed his mind last minute) ..and prince wasn't ripping him off...Prince himself didn't invite Morris to perform in the first place. Prince's lawyer got bold and made the offer without asking Prince. Eventually, Prince did pay Morris for the flight and his musician's time but for doing essentially nothing, since Prince didn't invite him and Morris didn't perform. This is according to Ruth Arzate (who's on twitter) who worked for Prince from 2003 to early 2010. She was pissed about the story. She said she felt for Morris at the time, but his account of the story is not the reality. Even though he could be cheap, he wasn't that cheap. She said HE always paid for traveling expenses even for sound engineers he decided not to us. Morris probably didn't want to deal with the machine around Prince and its understandable but he is fibbing on this one. He also would get annoyed that Prince booked the Inn next to paisley park in Chanhausen for him instead of swank place in Minneapolis. Well, it was not cheapness. It was convenience. The Inn was within walking distance of Paisley Park. A ton of people stayed there. Some even lived there while they worked with Prince.

The story I heard was he was dating the girl from the Bangles and wrote it for her as a gift so she could collect publishing from it… I heard he wrote hits for all the girls he was “dating” for that reason. I don’t know though. Just what I heard throughout the years.
