Happy to support another local TH-camr. I'm 862. I'd love to do big projects but time is limiting. Have spent the last month not making content, trying to recover from nearly dying of sickness. Keep grinding bud!
That windshield has the same curvature as a Ford Ranger 1993-2010. They used the dauphine windshields in some FiberFab kits and people rebuild those figured this out. Just have to have an old windshield as a template. And decent glass shop should be able to cut it down for you.
Do you suppose you could narrow one of the later model VW IRS rear suspensions to fit? I have a history with both Dauphines and VWs. I love the way the Dauphine looks. I think Renault knocked it out of the park as far as it being a beautiful design. But, my parents had one when I was a kid and it was a super lemon from the very first day they drove it home from the dealer. That car was simply not built for American drivers on American highways. So, IMHO, the only real good thing to do with a Dauphine is to drop it on a VW pan. Then and only then, does it become a good car.
Following this build! I appreciate you keeping it real! All the best getting to 1k!
Excited to watch the Renault restomod...great content, keep it up
Thank you!
Dude this is gonna be such a sick project!

@@lowerclassgarage No worries. That is a huge project you are working with. Coming along nicely!

Thanks you so much for that info I’m sure you know how valuable it is!
I’ve done two of these pan swapped Dauph’s. Just info I’ve picked up along the way
Well aware of the ones you have built! Huge inspiration for my build!
If you use the 60' pan, remember that 60's have a one year only nose cone and tranny mount
That another reason why I want to use the 64! Thanks!
If you ever want to traid the white bug for an 02 miata gimme a call.

Honestly I’m not sure. I haven’t really messed with an irs pan. But almost anything is possible!
Thanks for watching!
