to properly eat palabok, you need to squeeze the calamansi on the noodles. it gives the noodles a sour taste to balance out the saltiness (i was confused why your palabok is sweet according to you since its salty/savory). remember here in the Philippines, if you see calamansi served with your dish, its a must to squeeze it on to the food 😊
@@EileenAldis every type of pansit or dry noodle dish needs a squeeze of calamansi. And yes, sisig as well. Also, dipping sauce should always have calamansi (soy sauce + calamansi + chillis or fish sauce + calamnsi + chillis).
For the Palabok or Fiesta Noodles, that little green citrus on the plate is calamansi, which is a souring ingredient where its juice is pinch-squeezed over the noodles then mixed well after. Try it next time. Just to check it out.

Gotta love a good chocolate sundae to start off the dessert taste testing. The Peach-Mango pie looked pretty good. I love both peaches & mango as well. I'm totally with Marc on the loving of the Peach-Mango pie. The purple Ube cheese pie looked quite strange, but still edible.
Chocolate sundaes are reliable! Of the pies the peach mango was hands down the best. It's the most popular, I believe. The purple looked cool but it didn't have that much flavour in my opinion.

When I order pizza I always get one Italian sausage with green peppers and black olives , and one with ham, and pineapple. Yahoo, Hawaiian Pizza. I also live in Los Angeles and have been going to Jollibee for decades (my favorites are Lumpia (Shanghai rolls), Siobao (steamed pork bun), the sweet pork, Filipino Longganisa sausage, egg & rice, the fried chicken & gravy, and the Palabok rice-noodles, then finish with the mango hand-pie). Also, I always have fish sauce and banana catsup in my cupboard.

@EileenAldis sadly, no Jollibee in Massachusetts or Maine, two states in which I spend considerable time. Perhaps they are just starting to catch on in the US. Fingers crossed, we will see one soon! Do you have them in Canada?

The secret with the Fiesta (palabok) noodles is to mix them all together AND add the calamansi (small green lemon). It's my favorite. Should've tried the halo halo and their amazing aloha as well. :)

I absolutely love Jollibee! My favorite is definitely the chicken Joy and also the deluxe chicken sandwich, which includes lettuce. The one you had was the regular chicken sandwich. The peach mango pie is also tops for me. I’ve had Jollibee in the Philippines as well as in Los Angeles. The peach mango pie is actually bigger in size in the states so when I’m in the Philippines I always have to get no less than three of those. The best part about Jollibee in the Philippines is that it is very Jolly. 🤣 Not only the food but the kindness of the people. Did you guys really eat all of that food?? That was a lot! 🤣😂

You're totally right about Jollibee's jolly-ness and how lovely the people are :) That's interesting about the States! @@EileenAldis Yes it tastes different but I would say that’s a good thing. Most “American “ fast food places taste better in the Philippines and pretty much everywhere in Asia. However, I would say Jollibee is consistently great in both the Philippines and in the States so kudos to them. But for example, KFC? Wow its so delicious in the Philippines but horrible in the States! 😂🤣 Its just like how in the states the last place you’ll find me is at a 7-11 but as soon as I land in Tokyo, I can’t wait to get to one! 😂🤣 It’s like night and day the difference. When I land back in the states I do go to Jollibee because I immediately start missing being in the Philippines 😂 and as I mentioned, the peach mango pies are bigger in size than the ones in the Philippines but the taste is the same great quality. 👍🏽

Hey Evelyn! So many people have said they love the pineapple drink and I didn't try it! I don't even remember seeing it on the menu 😩 Is it pineapple juice? 🍍 I didn't order the spicy chicken as I wasn't sure *how* spicy it is. Is it pretty mild or super hot?
@@EileenAldis it’s called the Pineapple Quencher, the spicy chicken has the right amount of spiciness especially when you dipped in into the sauce. You should also try their mashed potatoes 🥔 it’s the best coming from a fast food restaurant.
You & Marc definitely seemed extra jolly as you were eating the Jollibee food in the episode. The BurgerSteak looked like a Salisbury steak covered in mushrooms. I love Hawaiian pizza, having/getting pineapple on the pizza along with Canadian Bacon/Bacon & cheese, so I think I'd definitely enjoy the Aloha Champ Burger. I'm definitely with Marc on the 'Not a mayo fan' but I can tolerate it in limited amounts when I have to.
An extra jolly video...I like it haha! You're right about the burger steak. Not my favourite with the mushrooms but it's also one of the more popular dishes I think. Glad you agree about Hawaiian pizza! You'd probably like the Aloha burger too then. It was great. I've had pineapple on burgers in Iceland before too. Like how generous the pineapple 🍍burger is...seen other mukbang, of Jolibee in Ca, YUM love local fast food chains to a place. Makes sense Jolli is in California first, West Coast Pacific Ocean, though on East, US ...sounds good to me. Reminds me of Whataburger love for TX. 🍔🍟 Grew up eating a holiday ... sherry mushroom gravy ...for roast turkey 🍇. And love truffles umami flavor in honey. Maybe favorite sauce 🍦🍯🍌on mushrooms, will help win you over to their side. 🍝🍗🍊

Nice review. I’ve had Jolliebee in the US. Was okay, not great. My favorite was the peach mango pie, just wished it was bigger. I have heard the chicken in the Philippines is much better though. I want to try the coconut and pineapple pie. That aloha champ burger looked pretty good. Love Hawaiian pizza.

try it to mix it properly the sphaghetti and?palabok to make the real taste. palabok need squez a 1 lemon to balance the salted palabok.. i love jollibee sinces i was a child.. jollibee giving smile to alot of child of phillipines.. flavor full and full of happyness..

i love hawaiian pizza. i know pizza is italian and there's no such thing in italy but food travels around the world and over time people personalise it to their community, so i dont see anything wrong with it or disrespect to anyone's culture.
I agree and I love the way you put it. Food definitely travels around the world and transforms and I love that. My favourite hot dogs are Icelandic, for example haha. If you think of other good examples I'd love to hear.

The peach mango pie is also tops for me. I’ve had Jollibee in the Philippines as well as in Los Angeles. The peach mango pie is actually bigger in size in the states so when I’m in the Philippines I always have to get no less than three of those. The best part about Jollibee in the Philippines is that it is very Jolly. 🤣 Not only the food but the kindness of the people. Did you guys really eat all of that food?? That was a lot! 🤣😂
haha I don't think I've ever ordered that much food in my life! 😅 No, we didn't eat it all but wanted to at least try the different dishes. You're totally right about Jollibee's jolly-ness and how lovely the people are :) That's interesting about the States! I've heard the food tastes different outside the Philippines as well but haven't tried it myself. Do you think so?
@@EileenAldis Yes it tastes different but I would say that’s a good thing. Most “American “ fast food places taste better in the Philippines and pretty much everywhere in Asia. However, I would say Jollibee is consistently great in both the Philippines and in the States so kudos to them. But for example, KFC? Wow its so delicious in the Philippines but horrible in the States! 😂🤣 Its just like how in the states the last place you’ll find me is at a 7-11 but as soon as I land in Tokyo, I can’t wait to get to one! 😂🤣 It’s like night and day the difference. When I land back in the states I do go to Jollibee because I immediately start missing being in the Philippines 😂 and as I mentioned, the peach mango pies are bigger in size than the ones in the Philippines but the taste is the same great quality. 👍🏽

Hey Evelyn! So many people have said they love the pineapple drink and I didn't try it! I don't even remember seeing it on the menu 😩 Is it pineapple juice? 🍍 I didn't order the spicy chicken as I wasn't sure *how* spicy it is. Is it pretty mild or super hot?
@@EileenAldis it’s called the Pineapple Quencher, the spicy chicken has the right amount of spiciness especially when you dipped in into the sauce. You should also try their mashed potatoes 🥔 it’s the best coming from a fast food restaurant.
If you tried peach mango pie + sundae. You put the pie in the sundae and crush it with the spoon.

You & Marc definitely seemed extra jolly as you were eating the Jollibee food in the episode. The BurgerSteak looked like a Salisbury steak covered in mushrooms. I love Hawaiian pizza, having/getting pineapple on the pizza along with Canadian Bacon/Bacon & cheese, so I think I'd definitely enjoy the Aloha Champ Burger. I'm definitely with Marc on the 'Not a mayo fan' but I can tolerate it in limited amounts when I have to.
An extra jolly video...I like it haha! You're right about the burger steak. Not my favourite with the mushrooms but it's also one of the more popular dishes I think. Glad you agree about Hawaiian pizza! You'd probably like the Aloha burger too then. It was great. I've had pineapple on burgers in Iceland before too. Marc will be happy he's not alone on the mayo front... ;)

Nice review. I’ve had Jolliebee in the US. Was okay, not great. My favorite was the peach mango pie, just wished it was bigger. I have heard the chicken in the Philippines is much better though. I want to try the coconut and pineapple pie. That aloha champ burger looked pretty good. Love Hawaiian pizza.

Little tip you don't need a knife to cut a burger steak you can just use your spoon. :)
try it to mix it properly the sphaghetti and?palabok to make the real taste. palabok need squez a 1 lemon to balance the salted palabok.. i love jollibee sinces i was a child.. jollibee giving smile to alot of child of phillipines.. flavor full and full of happyness..

You forgot to order Peach mango pie, mostly people like 👍 , use calamansi (small lime)in your Palabok to balance the saltiness and mix it properly ❤❤

i love hawaiian pizza. i know pizza is italian and there's no such thing in italy but food travels around the world and over time people personalise it to their community, so i dont see anything wrong with it or disrespect to anyone's culture.
I agree and I love the way you put it. Food definitely travels around the world and transforms and I love that. My favourite hot dogs are Icelandic, for example haha. If you think of other good examples I'd love to hear.
@@EileenAldis empanadas - if you're in singapore and malaysia it's called 'curry puffs' or 'epok epok'. it's filled with stewed potatoes in curry gravy.

Mix well spaghetti, palabok or halo-halo before you eat. Yumburger, spaghetti, jolly hotdog and sundae ice cream is for kids
Maybe Jollibee makes us all kids because I saw lots of adults enjoying them too haha ;)
Squeeze kalamansi on palabok and mix thoroughly and eat much flavorful
