Biggest point for that is the repeated line "like the smell of a rose on a summer's day I will be there to take all your fears away" the name of Ruby's mom was summer rose and based on what yang said in volume 2 after she died on a mission ruby and yang's father sort of shut down for a bit as she was the second wife he had lost (the first being yangs mom who had left the family) so with all this its implied that yang felt the responsibility to step up to try to be a mother figure for ruby as she was so young at the time
