    ENGLISH EXPLANATION:
    It's about the history of ChoiLeiFut in which the founder Chun Hung combined 3 styles into one, combining Choi style with Lei style & the Fut (=Buddhist) style.
    It talks about the basic fist set Ng Lun Fist & the basic stance set Ng Lun Stance. Ng Lun means 5 wheels, signifying the head, and the 4 limbs. It's widespread in the whole world now.

    I've always been baffled by the presence of the technique of windmilling straight arms in this style. Even when I was in intermediate school, with zero martial arts training at that time, I was able to easily cope with such an unsophisticated attack by a classmate.

      It looks like the old fashion unsophisticated arm swinging in to see in a middle school courtyard but actually in its application in the way they use it it’s very deadly I’ve seen it in real life I felt it in real life it’s scary what a video shows you what real life shows is two different things

      there used to be a chinese saying that went something like "five major southern styles, Hung, Lau, Choy, Lee, Mok. All five styles were complete style, some still exist today, Hung Gar, Lau Gar, Choy Gar, Li Gar and Mok Gar.
      Some say that the man who created Choy Li Fut was a student of Choy Gar and later learned Li Gar, and Hung/Fut Gar. So those 3 are the roots of Choy Li Fut style.

      ***** Very true what you say, but do you go to war with only empty hands? No, the least you'll bring is a handgun or rifle. In almost all traditional martial arts there's a vast variety of weapons training. It's only when the warrior loses his long weapon, then his/her short hidden weapon, and is not possible to pick up a weapon off the ground that he/she will rely on empty hands. Even then, wrestling, submission and ground fighting is at the bottom of the list.....doing that the warrior will most likely be killed by any other enemy around him/her.
      A famous Greek philosopher....I think it could be Aristotle once banned wrestling from their sports training agenda (Sword-spear fighting, javelin throwing, archery, horse riding etc.) saying who would ever fight like that in a battle. Don't believe me.....look it up.

    • @happydragon5077
      @happydragon5077 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** As I mentioned I only think it was Aristotle....obviously I was in error. Anyways the quote is in one of my over 400 martial arts magazines.
      What I meant is that boxing, wrestling, kickboxing or MMA concentrate only in the unarmed side of combat. While all other traditional martial arts include a wide variety of weapons training.
      Sure, we'll almost never see someone walk down the street carrying a spear or broadsword, but does that mean we should forego training with them? If the answer is yes, then all soldiers should stop training with their rifles, handguns and unarmed combat because they're no match against machine guns and missile launchers.
      Remember MMA or TMA, the MA refers to Martial Arts which derives from Latin and means "arts of Mars", the Roman god of war...arts of war.

      Carlos Payan It's very possible the uploader is not fluent in English, and do not know how to add subtitles. So we're lucky to have this....maybe in the future someone can translate it into English. The hostess (Nice pretty lady) and most of the documentary was in Mandarin, the masters interviewed spoke Cantonese ( I only understood the Cantonese), so did the little boy because they're from the province of Canton.
      By the way, if they wanted to keep it a secret, they wouldn't even have posted this.

    well is not a northern shaolin kungfu because I also spotted some techniques are unique which related some southern style hand techniques and horse stance footwork from the south the reason is long range because is basically a southern shaolin techniques because we had that in Hung Ga kuen kungfu also the reason is the name off this fighting style shows its a southern style is that choy is a surname of the choy and lei Ga family of the five major southern shaolin kungfu family style which is Hung, Lau, Choy, Lei, Mok. so Choy Lei Fut has two surname of the southern style kungfu. So chan heung the founder of choi lei fut combine three style kungfu into one and he also change the mechanism of the three style and add long range techniques like the science of fighting. so long range is there major but they do have a lot of short range techniques as well. As for me who study hung ga the major wweapon is the iron bridge hand techniques but we also has long techniques which is not are focus. So yeh is southern style. but a little change by the founder.

    • @happydragon5077
      @happydragon5077 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Chung Chan Heung the founder of Choy Lay Fut combined Fut Gar, Lay Gar and Choy Gar into one system. Fut (Buddha) Gar was taught to him by his uncle, Lay (Or Lee) Gar by Lee Yau Shan, a senior classmate of Chan Heung's uncle, and Choy Gar by Choy Fook (A monk). The first two styles are southern and Choy style is northern....so Choy Lay Fut have more southern techniques than northern. Northern styles usually tend to kick higher and have more straight punches. Choy Lay Fut use mostly waist turning and twisting stances to generate power to their circular punches/attacks.

    Wing Chun, Choy Li Fut, Mantis boxing, all have fighters... where are all the Hung Gar fighters>?!?!?!?! We need to change that and make an Ultimate Kung Fu Championships... i would like to represent Hung Kuen. I love Choy Li Fut tho and if i started all over again i would have just dedicated myself to Western boxing, Choy Li Fut and Submission Wrestling.
