HOT!! What a hot beat! WOO- ...oh, wait, wrong N64 game. 😅 Seriously, though, this is fantastic! Talk about an underrated track, and man did you polish it to an obsidian shine! The way it pays such faithful homage to the original, while being fresh, innovative, and downright catchy is awesome. It's honestly hard to tell where the soundfonts end and where the synths begin, but it's meshed so well together that you'd think that this was an official remix for an HD remake of Diddy Kong Racing! I'm certain a lot of people will be referencing those vocals, and I'm one of them - like holy heck, man... how?! They're so clean and well-integrated into the remix, and I love that you've made them into a feature element in the music, since they're so essential for the song's identity. It's one of those things that I think brings a lot of listeners nostalgic joy! ^_^ The sounds you used feel authentic, yet modernized, and that sitar has a wonderful sound, especially with the articulations and tone you used. Ooh, and those rich low notes at 1:39... too good! I love when instruments are pushed to the limits of their natural range, in terms of pitch. And it's so cool how the synthesized ones resemble real instruments, like the lead at 0:44, which reminds me of a shawm (I had to look that one up... the more you know!) Those grace notes are spicy and add so much style and flavor to the arrangement, and it's sick how you always utilize a variety of melody variations, mixing up the timing and rhythm of the notes, like at 0:52 and 1:05. The brass and mallets sound tight, as well, and I feel like the instruments were selected with mindful consideration of the original. Just the layering and usage of synths and instruments in general is phenomenal! And holy heck, did you nail the percussive elements here! Despite my initial quip, these are some seriously fun and driving beats. The use of auxiliary percussion, as well as various lead-ins and fills just makes the rhythms so dynamic and interesting to listen to. Your music always offers such a varied listening experience, and that extends through all aspects. I think it's easy for artists to take really solid beats and push them throughout the song as far as they can, but you're always varying the instrumentation and rhythms in the percussive elements, whether it's removing certain drums (e.g., kick, snare), changing the groove, or doubling down and adding rhythmic layers. And I especially love your percussive sequences which often include SFX, like the one at 2:37 with that iconic missile impact (and accompanying hit in the video footage) and at 2:48 with the switch to Diddy as he uses the boost to get thru. 😁 Regarding the video, I want to mention that it's as engaging as ever, with frequent shifts in the footage and slick transitions between clips, and the use of an animated lava texture on the sidebars is a great detail! Again, this is such a great production, and it's one of my favorite of yours this year. I've listened 6 or 7 times already while typing this comment, and I'll be listening a bunch more! Well done, my friend! 🌋
Haha, you almost got me 😆 Oooooh I really like the obsidian shine comment! You know me well, I really enjoy preserving the original’s melodic component & merely just enhancing the overall vibe in the intro. I had to keep those vocal in, as it truly is a staple!! While I don’t typically favor the use of AI, I did use an AI-stem extractor to remove the vocals, identically to how I extracted the vocals for Ashley’s Song from WarioWare! I will say the my sitar synth is pure gold, easily one of the most realistic samples anyone could find. That’s another reason why I love produce this style of music so much, too! There’s quite a number of layering going on, too. There’s the vocal synth, sitar, mallet, saw synth, and brass all playing the same phrase during the second half of the drops, and _somehow_ it all still sounds cohesive, even I am finding my mixing ability to be some sort of magic from time to time 🪄 With lots of Latin & African percussion, i almost felt like I overdid the percussive elements, so I’m glad to hear I still managed to make those sound smooth! And I’m actually surprised how little SFX I used in the remix in general, usually I go nuts with the SFX but I feel like I’ve been tamer in my past few remixes. Although I will say there aren’t too much DKR sound effects that aren’t like boings or car horns haha, so there isn’t too much to utilize outside of the character vocals! Oh yes, I’m _super_ glad to hear you liked the animated lava texture on the sides! I’m always unsure of what to put behind the footage and to keep the original footage in the original aspect ratio, and I’ve been messing around with animated backgrounds, so glad to see this worked out well!! As always, really appreciate you taking the time to write out another incredible comment, you are amazing, Equalyze!! 💫
What a blast from the past. This stage brought back so many memories and your remix just took it to the next level. Thanks for making my childhood more badass and blessing us with this amazing remix!
Right?!? It makes no sense why it's not on NSO. Would literally be playing this nonstop. I played the DS version so much back when online play was first implemented!
Amazing remix! Haha I remember this track was one of my favorites! The lava waterfalls really impressed me and I used to stay in one spot observing them and listening to the music! 😆
@@ProducerPlayer2 I wouldn't say no to more Kazooie or Tooie remixes! (I imagine Tooie needs more remixes); but whatever you put out I'll be checking out. Keep it up sir

Just recently finished Banjo-Tooie for the first time. Playing these N64 games again is so good, and covers for them make it even better!
That is awesome!! Loved Banjo-Tooie. Still a shame a true third installment was never created! I gotta make more Banjo-Kazooie remixes 👀
@@ProducerPlayer2 I wouldn't say no to more Kazooie or Tooie remixes! (I imagine Tooie needs more remixes); but whatever you put out I'll be checking out. Keep it up sir
