funny because it's all mostly true. writers doing a bang up job on this one. Great stuff. "think of themselves as a welcoming bunch... and as a foreigner, it is best you do not contradict them in this delusion." - this line cracked me up.
We just value different things mate. Western Australian's are very welcoming to anyone who not only brings their culture here but also respects and understands that manners and hard work are what we do. If you act like a wanker, your gonna called out as one. An inability to cope is none of our concern.. We be like Yeah.. Nah lol
As a West Australian living in Queensland much the same could be said about Queensland, particularly the locals getting irate if the weather -- which is actually LESS sunnier than WA's -- is criticised.
This is absolutey priceless, from someone not born and bred here but has been here for 35 years it sums it up perfectly, you should do one one the Holiday ritual of going "down South" over the Christmas break
I loved the deliberately shitty production quality. It really looked and sounded like a low budget promo shot on VHS tape in the late 80s and then crash-box edited that is was third generation re-recorded.
That's correct, which is why Kim Jong Un runs Northern Perth from his secret palace of industry at Shenton Park. Not a lot of people know that. Not a lot of people want to know that.
Hi, Folks. LURRRRVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Azza born-n-bred West Australian, I can relate to all of this stuff. Thank you, Block Branding. Just my 0.02. You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
BTW, to this day, my sons both sometimes say “Yeah, Nah!” When we moved from WA to VIC, they were 9 and 11 and they are now 19 and 21 years old so that Old Western Lingo somehow stuck in their psyches…
Oh yes, the city of Perth is so close to a galaxy far, far away that you could almost catch a space taxi to the Mos Eisley Cantina for a cup of interstellar coffee. ☕ #CloserToTatooineThanAdelaide
As WA is closer to civilisation than the rest of Australia (they do have New Zealand and each other) we are more multicultural. The name Polony comes from Italy, it's a corruption of Bologna, where it was first made. Sadly, Victorians, who can only exist as a parasite on the work and organisational capacity, the export income generated by WA, and therefore the GST provided by WA, get the name "Devon", and everything else badly wrong. Their ignorance could be caused by a lack of vitamin D, as Melbun, their city, is always sunless and drab grey with poo brown highlights. WA is in the same time zone as most of the money of the world, and tourist hotspots, a weekend jaunt to Thailand, Hong Kong or Beijing isn't uncommon. Sictorians go to Tasmania, that's if Tasmania allows them in, as they also hate Sictorians. Almost everything else is correct- ish, except the accent. WA has a far more English accent than depicted. Melbun and FNQ have the broadest Australian accents, but nah, they're boring. Australians, as a whole, cannot stand Sictorians. I know for a fact Sictoria was offered to Putin as a nuclear and/or bodily waste dump, but he declined, quite rudely I thought, pointing out; "Sictoria is not up to a standard to accept Russian shit!"
Spooky! Just listening to JL commentate on first day of Oz vs Saffer test match at home in the Perth hills, saying the words "shown & known" pronouncing them "showw-wen and knoww-wen" and up pops this in my YT feed! 🤣

Unfortunately very accurate

As a West Australian living in Queensland much the same could be said about Queensland, particularly the locals getting irate if the weather -- which is actually LESS sunnier than WA's -- is criticised.
Brilliantly funny and so well acted and produced!
The history and culture sections are spot on.

Well researched and well delivered. A+

What kind of name is "Perth" for a capital city? It's sounds like you have a lisp. "I keep my looth change, in a perth."

WA is Australia . You must be on the other side.

Yes, and note that they are called crayfish in WA and not often called Western rock lobsters.

Is that just a WA thing? I've spent fruitless hours with work colleagues trying to convince them there's no "en" at the end of known etc.
@@danellis-jones1591 Being an anglo Aussie, I try not to judge 😆but yes it appears to be a WA thang! Bit like Sydney "innerestin" 🙃
