I've always thought the true face of Anne Boleyn could be found in the face of Elizabeth. What do you think of the resemblance between these Tudor beauties?

  • @amandadunn1238

Anne and Elizabeth both had that "It" factor. The one that made them stand out in a crowd and seem more beautiful than they actually were. I think they were so ALIVE and intelligent and enchanting people were drawn to them like a moth to a flame. It's something that you have to be born with and not learned or taught.

Is it just me or does Elizabeth just look like an incredibly stern teacher who actually cares a lot about her students and does everything to help them? McGonagall vibes through the roof!

Interesting that you said that. I dont know what your beliefs are on the after life, but I watched a video about someone channeling Elizabeth's spirit and that's exactly how she describes her. She said she feels "like a very strick teacher, but loves you very much and only wants what's best for you."

Interesting though. Because she was a super intelligent and extremely educated woman. She also had a very strong personality. If she lived today, I'm sure she would have been not just a teacher but professor or a scientist, or even maybe a judge in a court of law or a great doctor. Definitely she would have been something big.

Part of me thinks she covered her neck to make herself feel safe- as someone who was violently choked before, sometimes I self soothe by covering my neck, and proving to myself no one can touch me there. With what happened to her mother, feeling that structure against her neck may have felt like armor.

It's clear from all accounts that Elizabeth had enormous personal charisma. During the reign of her sister, the Spanish ambassador, who was certainly no friend of Elizabeth - he was always urging Mary to put her to death - wrote "The Lady Elizabeth is greatly to be feared. So Mary got the red hair and blue eyes gene from both sides.

It seems that Elizabeth got her mother's nose. I suppose that Elizabeth could have looked this good IF she had never been stricken with small pox. Reputedly, the pox seriously ravaged her face with deep scars, hence her dependence on heavy makeup. Anne's portrait, if at all accurate, could explain Henry's infatuation with her.

WOW!! WOW!!! All these years, I could never see a resemblance of Elizabeth to any of her parents. And the fact that Elizabeth ordered the painters to not paint her real face, but, some beautified version of it, and I always thought she was rather ugly, but, you have made her beautiful, that she did resemble her mother, and that I could actually see why men would have wanted to marry her and why Catherine Parr's last husband was so infatuated with her. And Anne's face. I've never liked that particular painting of her, there's one where she's wearing a gabled pearl studded hood that's always been one of my favorites of her, but, you made her look beautiful in that, also. Just amazing!! I just wish they would dig up their graves, take photos of their skulls and recreate what they really looked like so everyone can see what they really looked like. But, you did an excellent job. I'm happy for once about the faces and what they possibly looked like, and you took some unattractive paintings and made the subjects human and beautiful.

Yes they definitely do look similar, personally l think Elizabeth is the more interesting and intellectual looking in the modern version!! Very attractive.

Her Majesty Elizabeth's reconstruction fits her historic description to a tee. An unstoppable fiery force with an alluring presence. Cross her at your peril, but if you were a law abiding subject her concern for you radiates from her. She must have been a magnificent personality to have known.

Thank God Elizabeth I was half Anne. I believe this is what made her a great queen. The fire, intelligence, wit and mental strength she got from her is why she became one of England's most beloved and successful monarchs. Anne had her revenge from beyond the grave. Henry never could have imagined how wonderful his daughter would be and a better monarch than he ever was.

Oh my God! What I just saw brought tears to my eyes and gave me goosebumps. What I saw from these 2 beautiful women was regal, wittiness with intelligence. I can see from Queen Elizabeth the loyalty to her country and the pride of perfection that she had carried. From Queen Anne I see a little flirtatious confidence of wisdom. From the two portraits I do see the similarities of some of their facial features. Thank you for bringing them to life. Long live the Queens. ❤

Attention all Elizabeth fans. I discovered a really beautiful portrait of her as a young woman at the National Gallery of Ireland online collection. It's one of the Clopton type, showing her in a modest black dress and robe, but far more skillfully painted than other examples. It actually has the air of being a likeness, as if she had posed for it, or at least for the preliminary sketch. You can see that she was very attractive at that age.

It is mind blowing that Henry killed her mother due to no heir and yet, the child of the wife he beheaded was one of the best royals-Golden years!!! Her mother Queen Anne was proud and smiling down on her daughter, who resembles her but only has red hair. WOW

Are these paintings? They look like photographs. Wow such great talent to make them look so real and especially the hair at the temples looks so real.

I see Anne in Elizabeth but I definitely see Henry. The red hair, and nose, I see Henry more but I can see both parents. Beautiful work!! Would love to see a comparison between Elizabeth and Henry 💚
