I went on Google maps to get a look at the building behind it more closely and the 'points' at the top of the bull are actually just interspersed columns of brick that styop halfway up the building, so they just happened to align up with the red canopy.
I really struggle to watch videos fully based on a sponsorship but that was a perfect partnership. I'm a complete cynic and I even enjoyed watching the Fujifilm advert at the end. Fair play
The red thing is a tent/parasol thing, square with a support on each corner to pitch it up. Makes sense for a cove, there shouldn't be much wind to blow it away.
The first one of these when i knew exactly where it was! I stayed in that hotel at the top of the hill a few years ago. Absolutely crazy! well done Tom!
Years ago, as an amateur GeoLocator, I used Google Earth to find paramotor flying sites from TH-cam videos. It was easy in the UK, but doing it worldwide from photos alone, as you do, is next level. 👍
I watched three amazing movies from three different continents today. The Wild Robot (2024), Maharaja (2024) & A Man Escaped (1956) and just as I finished, Tom's video I've been waiting for three months drops. Just perfect!
5:55 When the background music kicked in I was like "Hey! That's not traditional Greek music, Farya Faraji told me all about this." But then it hit me... it *is* stereotypical Greek holiday resort music, making it entirely appropriate. XD _And it is traditional to the Ionian islands, which Corfu is a part of_
This was a fun one Tom! As a photographer, I've been hoping to do some recreations like this myself, combining the geo detective and random travels in real life. Should make it a new series!
That was a lot of fun actually. Went to Menorca last month and I immediately thought it might be there, but I didn't get the exact location until you dropped the man down on streetview.
that's what I thought too! but with those upper stripes just being part of the building behind it, it's also possible it's just a giant red beach umbrella or patio umbrella.
I love watching Tom find these locations and the premise of this is cool but they already knew the location of the pic because they sent the photo back the next day and other pics of the holiday too. It would be really cool if they actually needed the help or tasked Tom to find it.
Very fun video to watch through. I'm glad you got to see more of the recreations at the end. That was such a nice touch. I'm pretty sure the red object is just a regular beach canopy with 4 poles. The lines coming out of the top are part of the architecture of the building behind it. 👍
Great collab!! Still waiting for that An Unofficial Street World series of attempts, a pure all world map (193 countries) with 100% correct compasses and locations that line up on the Google Map!
Good job Tom. Actually Greece has a few islands with a lot of trees and just green in general but they are mostly in the Ionion Pelagus (which is in the west) and Sporades (which is in central Greece close ti Evoia a big Greek Island that looks like sea horse), you should visit them they are lovely. There’s Zante, Kefalonia, Paxoi, Skopelos and Alonissos just to name a few
Last time you did the Italian coast search, and soon after that I went to Italy, near that coast line...now you have a Spanish coast search...and on sunday I go to Spain 😂
Thanks for making these videos, Tom, they really help me get the hang of the english language. I'm currently trying to pass a level C1 language exam, the writing part is already done, tomorrow will be the big day of the oral exam! P. s.: the adventure videos helped me a lot :D
I love that there’s a face in the foreground with obvious sun and shadows but he finally figures it out on the buildings. It’s so interesting how differently we look at things and process information.
Tom: "I do think this could be found quite quickly". Also Tom, the next day: "Well, still no luck." Pretty sure the red "bull" near the beach was a truck.
Well played Tom. I'm a bit of a photography nerd anyway but how much more vibrant and characterful are those original film shots than the recreations, they were great the digital just lacks that vibrancy.
If you ever find it with the first google search you should still upload it as a geodetective video but after you find it it's just a classic geoguessr playalong video.
Best ad i've ever seen a youtuber do.
Agreed, props to Fujifilm for being creative too!
@@Brukernavnn now the true question is: who stole from who and who's suing who?
Well done Fujifilm! That the kind of sponsorship we as the internet like.
Tom sees a red gazebo on a beach.
"HARK! THIS IS EVIDENCE OF THE PROTO-RED BULL!!!"
Love you man.
It probably was a red gazebo. When I saw it in the background before Tom even honed in on it, I thought it looked like a giant crab statue.
I can't stop laughing at this, such incredible perception and then will just go on a mad one with an idea haha
Never change Tom
Haha, I totally thought of Crab People from South Park - a crab people statue! 😂😜
Ok, I'll see myself out now... 🫡
I went on Google maps to get a look at the building behind it more closely and the 'points' at the top of the bull are actually just interspersed columns of brick that styop halfway up the building, so they just happened to align up with the red canopy.
That was BRILLIANT! This is how all sponsorships should be!
Shout out to Carole and Martha too! N&Nx
So glad you were recording
That's a pretty cool and fitting collab with fujifilm. Congrats !
Perfect match!
I don't know which advertising agency created that advertisement, but Jaguar should have consulted them!
Lol @ the bull rabbithole 😂 it's just a bunch of restaurant parasols + two lines on the building behind it.
That's what the Big Red Bull _wants_ you to think.
Yep 👍
I really struggle to watch videos fully based on a sponsorship but that was a perfect partnership. I'm a complete cynic and I even enjoyed watching the Fujifilm advert at the end. Fair play
This is the type of ad I can get behind
Holy hell GeoWizzard and Fujifilm collab
God damn this could do as a case study on how adverts are done right
This was a cool addition to an already excellent format.
Love that Fujifilm contaced you, what a great partnership, and class content as always!
Can't get over the way Tom says Fewjifilm
Or Pho'oh
😅😅😅
@@hukl3945 Ah yes, Pho'oh the legendary Gen 2 pokemon
Obviously Googled how to say it the right way. The rest of us say FoooG .
for a sec I thought the fugees were getting back together for a cash grab
Great video Tom. Super detective work. How cool that Fuji recognise your greatness.
The red thing is a tent/parasol thing, square with a support on each corner to pitch it up. Makes sense for a cove, there shouldn't be much wind to blow it away.
The two lines are on the building behind the parasols. They are visible in the new photo.
The first one of these when i knew exactly where it was! I stayed in that hotel at the top of the hill a few years ago. Absolutely crazy! well done Tom!
Absolutely brilliant. Kudos both to Tom and Fujifilm.
Low key Carolle moggin her daughter in those photos. The hair was absolutely amazing.
My parents owned an apartment in Cala en porter, recognised it instantly!! Never thought I'd see it in a Geodetective! Great work.
I dont always support sponsored films but when I do it's fucking wholesome like this one.
My favourite series is finally back! Every time can't wait to see more of that, it's incredibly satisfying, educational and entertaining as well!
Now that's how you do a sponsorship. Great pairing with you and Fujifilm Tom.
Perfect sponsorship. Well done to Fuji Film.
"I think different parts of Greece look different to others"
-Tom Davies, 2024
😁
I can't stop looking at "London NRM" in your google earth path list. That'd be one epic mission
London No Roads Mission?
The "red bull" is just an event tent of some sort.
That old fujifilm really brings out greens too
Looked way nicer than the recreation.
You can’t argue with analogue film
All the bonus pics in the ad were such a bonus after the detective work! Great collab man.
Thanks again Tom always cheer me up mate
congrats on the collab! Love you Tom!
Such a nice ad, My Fuji Film and you really provided the best location. 😉
So proud I thought Spain straight away!! Learning so much from your channel!!❤❤
Years ago, as an amateur GeoLocator, I used Google Earth to find paramotor flying sites from TH-cam videos. It was easy in the UK, but doing it worldwide from photos alone, as you do, is next level. 👍
Every time I see a Tom post, my heart gets warm
That touched my heart.
Mate this was epic, thoroughly enjoyed it!
I watched three amazing movies from three different continents today. The Wild Robot (2024), Maharaja (2024) & A Man Escaped (1956) and just as I finished, Tom's video I've been waiting for three months drops. Just perfect!
my parents were hippies, and an upsetting amount of their photos are without clothing, so i try not to look at them
😂
Well-played, both in the solution and for a sponsorship that fits right in with the channel content.
Well done! I loved it! What a holiday for the daughter and her friend!
TOM!! Its a red boat on the beach, you can see it with the white and black strips below.
It looks like an old wake boat. Love brother!
5:55 When the background music kicked in I was like "Hey! That's not traditional Greek music, Farya Faraji told me all about this." But then it hit me... it *is* stereotypical Greek holiday resort music, making it entirely appropriate. XD
_And it is traditional to the Ionian islands, which Corfu is a part of_
Im surprised Fujifilm used a phone instead of giving them one of their cameras for their ad
Haha 😂 kinda proves them unnecessary when not even themselves can be bothered to pack an extra camera.
they have a camera app. plus i think it's more about advertising for the printing than the camera itself
What a brilliant video and advert.
Respect to Fuji, this was a good challenge.
This was a fun one Tom! As a photographer, I've been hoping to do some recreations like this myself, combining the geo detective and random travels in real life. Should make it a new series!
Always love these videos..can't wait to see how this one pans out! Keep 'em coming!!
That was a lot of fun actually. Went to Menorca last month and I immediately thought it might be there, but I didn't get the exact location until you dropped the man down on streetview.
that statue looks like a big red crab to me 🦀. Someone must know!
It's a Crabcat
that's what I thought too! but with those upper stripes just being part of the building behind it, it's also possible it's just a giant red beach umbrella or patio umbrella.
@jlt131 those Coca-Cola umbrellas were everywhere but used to get robbed
Crab People 🦀
Really enjoyed this one!
I love watching Tom find these locations and the premise of this is cool but they already knew the location of the pic because they sent the photo back the next day and other pics of the holiday too. It would be really cool if they actually needed the help or tasked Tom to find it.
The one review you looked at had the button "more" 😂
So wholesome!! ❤ Thank you Tom, great video!
FIrst time the sponsored segments have been so good that I had to disable sponsorblock :D Great ad campaign!
Very fun video to watch through. I'm glad you got to see more of the recreations at the end. That was such a nice touch. I'm pretty sure the red object is just a regular beach canopy with 4 poles. The lines coming out of the top are part of the architecture of the building behind it. 👍
It’s just a red umbrella tom!
Advertising done right. Loved the video Mister Geowizard and thanks fewjifilm 😅
This was amazing! Very nice Tom!
I appreciate your videos tom ❤️
Can't watch right now, but thanking and liking in advance!
great great vid. loved this.
Great ad by Fujifilm
That was great all around
What an awesome collab.
That was such a cool end result for the project, awesome to know you helped out
spent the entire video engrained and then realised on the drop i have bloody been there!
This was an excellent collab and a fun video! 🎉
I think the red bull is just a large beach umbrella/tent
Such a cool idea, I’m glad you found it
I've got a Fujifilm mirrorless aps-c camera, fantastic bit of kit!
Dare to re-create the sea photo with it? :D
It's great the way Fuji just chose a random photo to recreate, without worrying about the conventional attractiveness of the... never mind.
Oh cool. I've been there. Nice to get a personal connection to a video like that
Obsessed with watching his eyes on the sped up parts 😂
Great collab!! Still waiting for that An Unofficial Street World series of attempts, a pure all world map (193 countries) with 100% correct compasses and locations that line up on the Google Map!
very awesome!
Really cool stuff!!
I was in that cove last year. Beautiful place.
Amazing!!
thats an umbrella tom
Good job Tom. Carol did a wonderful job
When is the "groundbreaking" GeoDetective video coming out? :D
yes! Looking forward to that one.
It's gone awfully quiet... wondering if maybe it just couldn't be done in the end? :(
Last time you did the Italian coast search, and soon after that I went to Italy, near that coast line...now you have a Spanish coast search...and on sunday I go to Spain 😂
Very cool! I enjoyed that ! :)

Best of luck for your exam tomorrow! If you speak English as well as you write it, you will pass with flying colours!
I love that there’s a face in the foreground with obvious sun and shadows but he finally figures it out on the buildings. It’s so interesting how differently we look at things and process information.
As a scouse follower i can say without doubt that the best comment you have ever made is "piss off sun".
would be very cool if Fujifilm sponsored Tom to make 2 geodetectives video a week and he becomes rich xD
pretty sure the red thing is like a beach canopy tarp kind of thing
Tom, great video! You should try this with some photos of your parents on holiday when they were younger?
The red "bull" really just looks like one of those pop-up beach tents for shade. The "horns" are indeed on the building behind it
the red "bull" is an umbrella or like beach shade thing. the "horns" are the gaps or façade of the building behind it.
That is such a cool idea!
Tom: "I do think this could be found quite quickly". Also Tom, the next day: "Well, still no luck." Pretty sure the red "bull" near the beach was a truck.
well done mate!
This is how sponsor videos should be done!
22:40 isn't that just one of those big beach tents?
That’s precisely what I thought
I thought giant crab monster.
Crab People 🦀🦀🦀
Well played Tom. I'm a bit of a photography nerd anyway but how much more vibrant and characterful are those original film shots than the recreations, they were great the digital just lacks that vibrancy.
SAME WWITH VINYL MY MAN. WE OLD GUYS JUST APPRECIATE THE ANALOG QUALITY. THE YOUNGINS DONT ANYMORE THESE DAYS!
If you ever find it with the first google search you should still upload it as a geodetective video but after you find it it's just a classic geoguessr playalong video.
