2000 sonrası doğan Türk gençleri için hayal gibi gelebilir ama böyle günler de yaşamıştık.Kötü şeyler olmuyor muydu oluyordu tabi ama böylesi bir kolektif umutsuzluğun içine hapsolmamıştık...

I may be biased because I am a Turk, but isn't this a milestone organization in the Eurovision history? Even the heart logo was born with İstanbul. The staging was revolutionary for its time as well.

Definitely a lot of milestones were reached in these last couple years of the contest. I’d say it really started popping off when Norway hosted in that huge arena with that fancy setup. Then Latvia introduced the points being in order on the scoreboard, but this definitely feels more like modern Eurovision. Amazingly hosted you guys💖

What a cultural feast the interval act was... horon, kemençe, halay, dansöz, darbuka, old shamanic melodies... Turkey has such a beatiful and diverse culture, and the postcards prove that as well. Every way that I can and 2004 were definitely a milestone in the contest's history, born of the interval acts, ethno bops, empowered female bops. We can't thank enough Sertab and Turkey.
It was in 2004 when I watched for the first time a complete Eurovision show! In 2003 I had only watched the voting part and the winner performance!

@@DanTony68 I was too young. I remember I was playing with my siblings, while my parents were watching the contest. So, at some point I got curious at what they were watching and I sat with them. At that time the voting part took place!

C'mon dont be unfair to yourself. I think 2021's hosting was the best one in Eurovision history. If I've had a list about that you'd be definitely at the top. Especially when we compare with 2022. If u think you did a bad job check out the 2022. I love Italy but the hosting was the worst.
@shoahshanagoldberg-shekels5253 well I don't agree with u. I respect your opinion and perspective but 2021 is best edition for me. It was flawless . Turkey's hosting was good ofcourse and I'm not saying it bcs I'm Turkish. But most of the time the natives from the host countrys doesn't like their hosting. I see this a lot. For example if you read the comments from Turkish people from the 2004's hosting most of them didn't like it.

People remember this Eurovision, because of its the first Eurovision to have it's current logo, first to implement the semi-final stage, first time we considered Turkey, Ukraine, and Greece heavy hitters, and we can relieve this Eurovision at anytime now, since all the Eurovision entries from this contest onwards have since been placed on this channel.

Yes but this was not the first year with semifinals. It was the third. There were semifinals in 1993 and 1996.

Unpopular opinion but Greece and Turkey entries were mainly overrated.
This Eurovision is emblematic, it was clear that it was an attempt to put Turkey in a European environment, and it really turned out well, it was a well-made advertisement, it is no wonder that it is one of the best editions.
RIP Tose Proeski, my all Macedonian friends have huge respect for him.

Anouk was so memorable in 2013 and the Netherlands has been sending high quality songs since then. From 2005 - 2012, the Netherlands was sadly in the wilderness at the contest.

Watched first two songs. Wow, what have I just heard?! I really liked it! Sertab is a strong singer and gorgeous woman! I watched the Eurovision in 2004 when I was a kid, but I don't remember this performance. I've just opened her for me. Both songs are great, but the second one was insane! Especially, when she took high notes, that was epic! And I don't know how many times the dancers turned 360. Looks like Sertab performed with astronauts! I think, she could sing "Leave" in 2004 and take first place again! Hello from Russia! :)
She is still shocking me even i am Turk. And those people who turned 360 are not dancers. They called "dervishes". Their trainings are really hard.

@Eurovision GOLD. By Genlab. Interesting. I never even thought about interlacing issues back then. I guess since digital media is so big I didn't even think about it.
Though atleast for the newer contests they should be uploaded in 4K. I have a high quality version of the 2015 contest and there's such a big difference in quality between that and the youtube upload. Since they're not releasing a bluray for them, it would be nice to see them at a higher bitrate. If that makes sense 🤷♂️

The most remember thing about this Eurovision for me: Lane Moje is one of the best non-winning Eurovision songs
I keep forgetting that 2000s Eurovision was dominated by either a Nordic country (2000, 2006, and 2009), or a former Soviet state (2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2008) only 2003 (Turkey) and 2005s (Greece) contest were the only times in that decade, that it wasn't won by either of those.

It's fun how you call older something that it's only from 2004. I would love to see true older competitions, from the 60's to the 90's, I know it's very difficult but some broadcasters have them.

This was the first Eurovision Song Contest that I was really excited about 🤩. I'm from Germany and Stefan Raab, who wrote the German entry, hosted his late night show from Istanbul for a week before that Saturday and his show was great because he showed clips from Istanbul, his appearance on the Beyaz Show and some other interesting and funny stuff. Sertab was on his show and she, Stefan and Max sang "Can't Wait Until Tonight" in Turkish and I think many Germans felt that we could end up in the top 5. Ironically, eighth place was a bit of a disappointment, but to this day it's still my favorite song we've ever sent to the contest because of the memories of that time and also it's a fantastic tune 👍. Musically and vocally, top notch.
