    I started learning how to do my nails during the pandemic, still practicing but I have to say that a slow monomer helped me greatly! I purchased Suzie's kit back in March and I am very happy with the products.

    I bought your acrylic kit a while ago Suzie and let me tell you I LOVE it so so much. I’ve only been doing acrylics for about a couple months and once I built up a basic knowledge of the skill I decided to buy something more professional (I started out with the cheap kiss acrylic kit) I knew right away that you were my first choice of where to buy from, I purchased your brushes, files, and acrylic kit and I instantly fell in love with the product. It’s super high quality and people might think it’s too expensive but you can tell that the quality is beyond amazing and I personally think it’s completely worth it, I have no problem spending money for a great quality product. It helped my skill skyrocket and it helped me so much because it’s so easy to work with. Thank you so much for the wonderful product Suzie!

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but dip powders got me thinking. The base coat is essentially nail glue, while the powder is the polymer and the activator is monomer. It's interesting how companies came up with a flip on an old technique 🤔

    • @ResistCircuitResist
      @ResistCircuitResist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Came here looking for information on mma and acryllic adhesives and i have yet to find a "beauty" video where they actually understand the science. You are somewhat correct the methyl methacrylate (mma) or etyhl methylacrylate (ema) acts as a monomer in conjunction with the poyder creating a polymer which is hard and resistant to breaking or chipping and is somewhat flexible.

      So base coat is glue. The activator is the spray that Hardens the glue. Literally the activator spray we use for the rhinestone glue to harden. Lol you’re right it’s just the same materials different “safer” more “expensive” more “new method “. way lol

    Love that you did a video on this!!! I’m newer to nails (2 years licensed but only recently started working) and bought an orderless monomer mostly just to clean my brushes at home. I decided one day to try it out bc it’s not something we were provided in school and I looooooved how much easier the acrylic was to work with! BUT, no one uses it in salons that I know of (not the one I’m currently working in either) not to mention most ppl frown upon it saying its hard to work with. So for those reasons I haven’t tried it in the salon. But after this I think I’m going too! I do feel like it files easier as well!

    I LOVE YOU! I've tried possibly every non-odor monomer and I hate them. They take forever to cure and most leave this horrible sticky residue or leave the acrylic sticky and taffy consistency. I haven't tried yours yet but the closest I've found that I love so far is Enailcouture Cotton Candy monomer you can't even tell i'm doing nails in my house. It's great. I'm looking forward to trying yours!!

    I'm circling back around after using this kit for a while. I find the products to be very high quality and true to it's claims. I didn't care for the tackiness at first, but it beats listening to family members complain about the regular monomer smell. And the self leveling of these products is amazing and makes filing next to none. I did not experience yellowing or discoloration as some have claimed below in comments.

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s great - you get it .
      Others who are having isssues with discolouration are using it like a traditional.
      It’s hard when something different comes along
      It can be confusing
      But it sure does work when used correctly
      And YES when you’re not used to it the tackiness does throw you off but once you wrap your head around it and get past it it’s amazing. Thanks for giving it another try and seeing its value

    I bought your acrylic kit & I love it I wish you sale it on your website cause I live in Canada and I want it in the Canadian $, not the US $ even it will deliver faster :/
    The box had a little spill from the monomer bottle so find a better and secure way to close the led luckily I didn't lose too much.

      Im so sorry bout that - i want bottle to be pretty but didnt know (or think ) about possibility of leaking/ we did seal it but itsnot 100% - it was less expensive to manufacture it in the US. Im glad you love it- keep the monomer away from natural light

    Hi Susie! LOVE your videos, they are SO helpful as I've been learning to do my own acrylic nails at home. I've purchased a number of things on your recommendations, one of which is your odorless slow-cure monomer. I've used it a couple of times now, and I think I may be doing something wrong. I'm having a great deal of difficulty removing the sticky layer on top after the application cures. I've tried the warm water, with or without soap, and even taking the temp of the water up to VERY warm (just less than hot enough to burn) and also with or without soap. (Dawn dish soap, if that matters? To avoid depositing unwanted oils on the new nail surface.) Any helpful tips for me? Having the slower cure for more time to shape is AMAZING, but I find myself dreading the rather difficult step of removing the sticky stuff. Any helpful tips for me? (see what I did there, lol) Thanks in advance for whatever advice you can provide. I look forward to continuing to improve with lots of practise, and watching more videos to learn from your expertise!

    I didn't realize until today your monomer was odorless. I got it in the mail 2 days ago and though it's nice, it takes forever to cure which for some may be nice. But it's a pain in my case. I guess I'll try your fast set soon.

    Hello Beautiful! Do you know why my clear acrylic had a yellow tint after using a clear monomer ?

  • @sophtwin2
    @sophtwin2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I started using another brand of odourless monomer, and was really put off as it left the acrylic turning yellow but I would definitely try again with it. (also stopped using it because on the bottle it stated can cause lung cancer...? It was a very popular branded monomer too 😬)

      Hmmm ive never experienced that comment in a monomer. When you try odourless again just remember your liquid to powder is very different

    Hi Suzie, thank you for showing us the difference between the monomer and regular solution, I had no idea that the monomer gave you that many extra beads, but even better it has a longer time before curing, I will definitely have to try it, because I totally get frustrated with the old solution and always ended up messing up my nail to the point of discouragement, and wonkie nails that I had to take off because of sheer embarrassment, I will definitely have to try it, thank you

    Even after filing the sticky layer off with this monomer, sometimes the gel comes off with it, and then I have some holes and it becomes uneven. :-/

    • @katherinepark3401
      @katherinepark3401 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! I wonder how that can be avoided. I learned with odorless monomer and it never completely dries and leaves holes when filing.

      @@sneepers I'm not super experienced, but i found that if I ran my nails under relatively HOT water for a little more than a minute (I usually sit on the edge of my bathtub to use that water, and hum a song to keep track) to get it set up fully. I make it just shy of uncomfortably hot. That's the only thing I found that helps - without this step my nails would stay kind of gummy, even after filing. I hope this helps!
