      Hey Matt, thanks for the comment. Yea I agree the dream of using lasers, would definitely be cool. I've yet to see another installer, where I'm from, use lasers successfully. What laser system do you recommend, I think I was looking at the PL5 or something before.

      @@EverydayPatio I just use a topcon. And it’s mainly for my height for hanging channel and transferring to post for my header height. U know how it goes, minus your pitch and your 3x8… but ya I was building these for a minute and I enjoyed it because people love the finished product and it’s nice to see the creativity. Every home is different so different obstacles and layouts is my favorite. lot I just couldn’t stand the scheduling my company did and the way they basically treat their employees. Other than that I’ve moved from building all covered patios and sunrooms to another trade. But still enjoy seeing these done, I wish I was able to get the product and advertise because that would be where the money is at. Just last week I used some leftover material and threw up a 12x10 flat pan in my backyard with canned lighting underneath for the little rainy season coming. But keep up the good work you guys are probably getting some good reviews out there

    I have these exact same panels on my current home. I'm also a union tile contractor and do my own DIY projects around the house. I have 2 gas bbq pits and 2 sinks under my patio. I need to run water to both sinks. I'm thinking of running my pumping right up from the ground up the beam through the panel roof and come down onto my sinks from above. Do you think I should put a hole through the panels and just chalk around the pipe for a good seal or should I just go around the edge up and over. I want a neat, finished look, that's why I want to hide the pipes on the top rather than hanging from the bottom patio ceiling. What do you guys think?

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Day Lionel, a fellow construction enthusiast I see! I've seen a few homeowners install water lines above the patio. If you drill through the roof avoid any electrical and seams. It is easier to seal any holes with Nova Flex or Dowsil, if it is at least 2 inches from any seams. Hard to say what I would do without pictures, but where there's a will to do it clean and professional, there is a way.
      Good luck with the project, would love to see if when it's done.
      Hope you have a great rest of your weekend,

    I just had a sun room installed and they only gave 1ft over the door of roof overhang. Needless to say in rainy Florida I wish they would've recommended more? With that said, I'd NEVER use that company again so I'm wondering what my best option is as far as extending it? A diy patio kit or hiring someone again? Since it would be attached I'm guessing I'd need ANOTHER permit?🤦‍♀️

    Hi cool video. Out of Curiosity how much weight do these roofs hold on your aluminum patios

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey TopDogVic, I believe I answered this one on another video you commented on. My brother knows better the exact weight they hold according to engineering, but when engineered properly the panels are able to hold light weight roofing and solar systems. I never have issues with our installers and crews walking on top.

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Johnnie, the longest hanging channel from the factory is 24 ft., so you have to use two pieces for the hanging channel on a job wider than that. I believe this patio cover was 28 or 32 ft. wide. I sealed the hanger 2 different times on top, you could also seal it from behind the channel as well, I recommend most people do.

    Is there a size limit to these aluminum patio covers?

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Newman, there is not a size limit, most material goes from 24 to 32 ft. Before you need a splice. But most splices can be hidden if built properly.
      Hope this helps,
      Have a great weekend,

    What's the main difference between insulated and non-insulated roofing panels. Is it just the reduction in noise when it rains?

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there Hector, the biggest difference between insulated x non-insulated you can in the videos the material of non insulated is not a protection against cold and heat weather. The insulated is properly design to help balance outdoors temperature and it looks way cooler than non insulated. Hope this helps. Have a great day!

    What hurricane winds can this roof stand: 208 miles / hour

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joe, your spans are changed depending on winds. Footings and steel framing can be used to offset these span changes. This was built in a very high wind area. Which is why we used 4 posts. Some areas call for more, some less.
      Hope this helps answer your question,
      Have a great New Year Joe!
