    As a complete beginner, I was really struggling with a booklet and other videos, but this was so good with the slow motion. Thanks

    Thank you SO much! I subscribed! I've been thinking about trying tatting but couldn't find a tutorial that made the process (particularly the end of the ring!) clear. You did it beautifully. I just ordered needles. Once I master that ring, I know I'll be watching the rest of your videos. You're a good teacher!

    Hey Maria.. On impulse I thought I'd give this a go as I'm a bead weaver. But thought it may be too complicated to even get excited about. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for a stunningly informative and easy to follow video. I'm definitely trying this now and will follow your other videos as well. Brilliantly set out. Always in shot. Simply taught. Thanks so much Maria x.

    THANK YOU!!!!! Very easy to understand instructions. I have wanted to learn needle tatting for a while, because I twist my thread so when shuttle tatting, and also just to have some options on the more difficult stitches. This is the perfect start!

    I have a beginner question.... your finished product shows 5 double stitches.... then a loop, then 6 double stitches. Am i counting a loop and a double stitch for a picot?

    • @MariaPapia
      @MariaPapia  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shirley ! When I made this video I was not trying to show a pattern I was trying to show just a simple ring. I am sorry if I confused you. I made that video long time ago and I am sorry if there is a mistake on it. I will go back and add an annotation. You don't count the loop (picot), you count the ds after the picot. So you do 5 ds then a picot then 5 ds. I hope I was able to answer your question.

    • @shirleya.mossbroooks9079
      @shirleya.mossbroooks9079 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im confused with counting in the pattern so i just watched and counted to try and straighten out what i was doing. when you do the picot, is that counted with just the loop? or is the next ds counted with the picot? So a pattern calling for 5ds 1p 5 ds would have 5 or 6 ds after the loop....

    • @MariaPapia
      @MariaPapia  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Shirley ! Ok so the loop (picot ) is just a loop it does not count as a double stitch. For example 5ds, picot 5ds. So you are going to make the first 5 double stitches and then the loop (picot) to finish the picot you need a ds so you count that one as one then make 4 more ds for a total of 5. I hope this answers your question.
