Most manufacturers seem to opt for hidden exhausts nowadays. I suspect due to the fact that fake chrome exhausts on the bumper will always stay shiny while actual exhausts get blackened fairly quickly.
Fake details are the current industry trend. Loads of cars have fake exhausts, splitters, intakes, side vents etc. It projects the "sporty" image people seem to want without the costs of having to engineer functional items....even though you can clearly see they are fake on closer inspection!
It being TDI doesn't mean it should have such lag. The 2.0 TDI Passat with 240HP, for example, should have loads of it, but is very immediate on the throttle. I also don't remember this kind of lag in the VW Amarok, which uses a similar 3.0 V6 TDI (and an automatic transmission).
Pit-Stop Ohh if it’s an actual lag then IDK. I myself own an S4 and I drove some TDI cars before. We can easily notice the pull isn’t as strong at the beginning. When I said delay I thought it’s just less force at the beginning not a lag. In this case, that’s disappointed :(

Perfect Audi A7, then this year Audi 7 seems to blow the CLS and 6 series Gran coupe but 2016 it was CLS and 2014 and 15 it was 6 series but they are all great depending on the choice or preference of the buyer
