I've just collected my new yaris cross GR Sport today, what a great car and when I first got inside I was so familiar with all the buttons and switches thanks to watching all your tips and tricks video's.many thanks Paul I will keep watching.
Thanks very much for the insights into this mazda how to vids , very useful to me as I have just bought a mazda 2 hybrid . Let's face it the manual puts you to sleep.! Thanks j
Thanks so much for all of your videos. I’ve just ordered my Yaris dynamic with city pack and hope to take delivery in…………February 2022! Bit of a wait but i am extremely excited. I’ve sold my fabia recently to take advantage of the bonkers inflated second hand market and now am braving the train and wife’s kindness to escort me to station until I get the new car. I’ve always driven a manual since I started driving at 18 and I’m now 42 so these tips are like gold dust. Cheers
Good presentation. The other point to note is that, in the manual (which I’m reviewing just before acquiring one) it recommends that auto parking brake is not used in weather conditions that could freeze the pads onto the disc. On the level, it’s OK to rely on the transmission being in P mode, which locks it. Depends where you live, but we often have nights with several degrees below freezing in the winter at my house.
I’ve never experienced an issue with the pads freezing, in the hybrid cars after 2020 we only get the electronic parking brake, my 2020 dynamic that did 48500 miles never had any problems, I’ve just upgraded to the GR Sport version of the car which I collected on 6th January 2023 it also has the automatic parking brake fitted to it and don’t see it having any problems whatsoever
It’s very hard when I spend 10 hours + in the car working every day It does get cleaned but by the end of the shift it looks like it did before I cleaned it
This was really helpful thanks! I'm a wheelchair user and am in the process of getting a new car with hand controls. I've been searching for a car on the Motability scheme that have handbrakes like this (I have a bad shoulder so can't lift normal ones) but I can't find the info online. If you see this, would you say it's a good car? Is it a smooth ride?
It’s a very good car with a super nice ride If you’re looking for a slightly larger car consider the Yaris cross The parking brake on the Toyota’s are automatically applied when you select park on the transmission There’s also a hold facility that applies the parking brake when in drive after you come to a complete stop, ie a road junction or traffic lights Anymore you would like to know Just ask
If you have hold function turned on and you stop, parking brake automatic turns on even in drive, as soon as you drive off it automatic turns off If auto hold is off you need to hold car on foot brake As soon as car is put in park parking brake automatic turns on whether hold is turned on or off
@@paul_nwsxs Thanks. Can you drive away with the parking brake on with hold off, or does the parking brake have to be released manually? I'm guessing the parking brake does not release automatically ith hold off and it has to be released manually.

Good video, but clean your car before making a video. Just saying😉

Thanks for explaining. If the hold function is off and the hand brake is on, can you drive away? e.g does the brake release itself?

The moment you either put the car in to reverse or drive the parking brake automatic realises
When the hold function is on do the brake lights come on like when you press the foot brake.
No they don’t it’s just like sitting with an old style handbrake on
Thanks for the question
See John catch the ball.
Do you know what you get if you add the safety pack to your new yaris.
