    I bought a new Poulan pro in 2008. After each use I pour the gas out, start it and run it out of gas, clean it and store it. It has never failed to start by second pull. Great saw.

    I just put a new carburetor on this evening. Had the saw since 2008 never had a problem with it. I keep fresh gas in it, I use 50/1 fuel. Piston looks like it is new. Was just going to change the fuel line's but the carb kit was so cheap I just replaced it to. Not bad for a 15yr old 100 dollar saw.

    Thanks, I have the exact chainsaw and exact problem.
    It ran so good for years so I would have never guessed it would have been a simple adjustment.
    I ordered a new carb/tune up kit. So wish me luck.

      I just got 5 from a store and they all are like brand new and fuel lines and diaphragms bad
      Only one needs a new air filter and fuel filter
      Dumb the fuel after using and purge out carb and dump again will stop 99% of the problems with them

    Tracy, im not a chainsaw guy but i had a Poulan xxv and that saw when i purchased it didn't even have a chain brake. It ran forever and i finally retired it 2 years ago. I put the next size bar and chain on it and loved that little saw. I did have to put fuel and one pull rope on it. Everyone rags on poulan today so their quality must have went down. Very good video and you are getting closer to 1,000 subscribers my friend. Who gets there first you or the Rooster. Can't wait! 👍😎Roger

    • @RaleysSmallEngines
      @RaleysSmallEngines  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir, the old Poulan was a much better saw. Not sure, probably the Rooster. Lol

    • @HughRailey
      @HughRailey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had several Poulan saws over the years and just bought a 5020 . The biggest thing is they send the saws with the gap too tight , so you just about have to check all the new ones. .025 is manufacturer specs . I run a brand new saw a little when I get it and pull the spark plug out again and blow out the cylinder by pulling on it with the plug out and check my plug for assembly bits of metal , occasionally I find them , even in a large generator I bought. Check for scoring and if none move on, it seems to be the nature of modern small petrol engines. Mine runs top notch .

  • @ronwilliams266
    @ronwilliams266 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was something how you used two saws .the one you had no the table was a new saw with a old bar and the one you started on the floor was a new saw with a new bar. Dont get me wrong ilove these info shows I have two saws that I love but stop runing..this helps alot now I know more what took for.

    • @RaleysSmallEngines
      @RaleysSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same saw, same bar. Look at about 6.23 in the video and you will see the Poulan Pro is upside down just like when it was on the floor. I film honestly and don't try to pull the wool over someones eyes. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend, I like that you are paying attention. We hope our videos help you out my friend.

    I have this same Poulan saw and almost as new and it's doing the same thing as this one in the video is doing. I don't have the spline tool to change the settings. You shouldn't have to do this much adjustment/pampering on a new saw to keep it running. I could understand if it was heavily used and for a lot of years, but not clean and new. To make it worse they make you get a special tool to adjust the gas.

    • @RaleysSmallEngines
      @RaleysSmallEngines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, I understand my friend. My personal saws are a Husqvarna 350 and a Stihl ms180c. The Husqvarna I've had at least 15 years, never fails me. Go get a Husqvarna, Stihl or Echo. In my opinion that's you best one's on the market. Yes, if you have to adjust the carburetor on almost any 2stroke you will need a set of those special tools.
