I'm biased owning several P90 guitars but honestly they all sounded great.
Super job, fellas. The mini 'buckers sounded too thin. P90s and the full-size humbuckers were a tight race. I still preferred the P90s. Great comparison!

Same here, I'm a biased toward mini humbuckers, but P90s are very close. All 3 sound great and it's all subjective anyway. Great vid!

There was a moment right at the beginning where I honestly didn't think that was Zach. The new look is great. John, I'm always impressed when I see someone take a cold drink from inside a Marshall.
I think I liked the sounds of the mini humbuckers and normal humbuckers better over that track, but the actual solo played with the P90's best.
Also, someone peeing should always be the goal of a good jam. Sometimes I let loose right as I sit down to play in hopes of setting the right mood.
Yeah, tone this, and tone that, but holy hell every note you guys played in this video was an absolute banger ahah. Amazing
Hearing comparisons of guitars plugged into the same amp in a track is great. Kemper Marshall and Princeton profiles sound great. Studio sounds great.
I’ve never been convinced about P-90s in other shootouts, but they sound great in that Les Paul. It’s hard to beat good ol’ classic humbuckers, though.
Okay, humbuckers where played starting in the bridge position, then switched to the neck. The mini humbuckers where only played in the bridge position. In contrast, the P-90s were played only in the neck position. So, for those that are saying that the P-90s sounded fuller, well that's why. To me, there was a clarity in the minis that was lacking in the other 2. Then again, it's really up to the player to determine the sound they feel is appropriate.
Fascinating and well-done video! I agree with Zac's "take" on string action. This also reminded me why I favor Fender amps. Oh right, the pickups... It's All Good!! Y'all pick what you like best, eh?!

But first, try lowering the neck pu all the way down and bridge all the way up, then play the middle position with the neck dialed back just a bit. That’s my sweet spot

I'm torn. If sound were the only criteria I'd go p90, minis, humbuckers. But if I'm standing in a store with only enough cash in my hand for one, I'd still feel a huge pull for the hums because thats the quintessential, classic LP sound. 😖
P90's
In ny humble opinion the pickup needs to match to the song and therefor with your effects used. You can do a brilliant job with each of them!
Just remember: The solo of "Another brick in the wall" wasn't a Strat. It was played on a Paula with P90's!
I got a Les Paul special tribute p90 . Best guitar for cleans and shredding .
For me I think that every guitar can sound great, but you just need to find the right settings, and some guitars sound their best through certain amps. Put the mini humbuckers through a mesa boogie, you'd be amazed. The p 90s through a deluxe, or a super reverb, the best tone you can find, and the paf's through a Marshall plexie, or an 800, that's the sounds off classic rock. To my ear guitars through any type of processor or computer, just sounds fake.
What - no 3 humbucker pickup Les Paul!
The P90 and regular Humbucker are pretty much a a tie, but I just love me a good ol’ humbucker 🤘
I have all 3 pickups in my LPs. To my taste the Minis sounded the most articulate, the full humbucker were so creamy. The P90s were nice but they are unusable in some noisy venues.
The P-90s sound the best. Nice refrigerator. I have one in my room.
