  • Adam adds a very special set of acrylic paints to his workshop: Archive-X's line of paints designed to exactly replicate the colors used in painting the studio scale models for Star Wars and other ILM modelshop projects. These are hues that are very familiar to Adam's sense memory of working at the ILM modelshop, and he spends today building a display and storage rack for this awesome collection.

Nail polish "tools", like shelving for nail polish bottles(in clear acrylic), small and large carrousels, handy trolleys; all fits right in for displaying miniature paint bottles.
With this you can see all at once.

For those that have the need and the money but not the time and the tools, enter "spice rack" into your search. While not as perfect as Adam's, they are good and workable. The round stack shelves in the paint cabinet looks like it was once a spice rack. Don't blame me if you end up saying "No Honey, I don't know what happened to the kitchen spice rack".

Apple Barrel and the like are good for larger things without tiny details. I know it's popular among the tabletop wargaming community for painting terrain, but generally not used for the miniatures themselves. Mostly because the pigments in those craft store acrylics aren't consistently ground as fine as hobby paints are.

I got into a kickstarter for a really big set of minis, and part of what came with it all was a bunch of paints. I wanted a way to see the labels of all those jars too, and I didn't have much in the way of skills or tools to make anything. So, I went looking for something I could repurpose into paint shelves, and I found these three tiered shelf spice racks that were designed to go in a cupboard and swivel out so you can get at the spices easily when you want them. I bought a couple, screwed them to a board, and they work great.
Even those of us without the ability to build something from scratch can have some fun coming up with a creative solution.
