The setup and aesthetics of each of the factions are so cool in the war. The way noxian soldiers use shield walls and crossbows to shoot and scoot while the ship based artillery helping clear out strong points and sniping positions. While the piltover has the barricades for shields similar to trenches in ww1 and gas grenades. While their artillery is just a hex tech machine shooting what seems to be a shipping container or something like it. I really love sci fi and fantasy warfare. Its so cool
Piltover tactics appear to be their riot suppression tactics they used to success against their rebellious underbelly. Evidently, it does not seem to have the same kind of effectiveness against an actually disciplined and coordinated opponent.

Some factors to take into account: _They had a traitor in their ranks, who could give them information about the defenses and locations, and that Ambessa is not an idiot, she was a military genius who had already been in the city and had her contacts. _Piltover and Zaun fought each other as police and protesters, never something as serious as a siege battle. _The Noxians had weapons and armor for battle, experience and discipline. _I think there was also little time for much more preparation, and that Zaun joined the fight when the city practically fell. The outcome of the fight is pretty clear since piltover enforcer troops are more used in crowdcontrol than war despite having advance tech(since piltover is more on advancing than war)while noxian troops are well trained and have experience many battles
The wildest part is that this is piltover first every siege, they only had inner city conflicts. Not only that ambessa is literally only a single general with her own ambitions, imagine if noxus decided to actually throw numbers in that fight.

They are probably saving the best of Noxus to show in a fight for the next series which would be against Ionia, since their wars were on a much larger scale, here we only saw about 5-6 ships and a few different armies, for Ionia they used everything
that opening has to be the best war scene I've seen in animation. The chaos and intensity of the cinematography (couldn't think of a way to not make that rhyme) is like something out of saving private ryan or all quiet on the western front
everyone pretty much knows that noxia is a warring empire, but plitover only has a police force, not a seasoned military, and looks like this was their first war against a different nation, pretty cool. if they make more series based around the world of arcane, maybe we might get to visit and piltover having a more solid military, or maybe just a branch of the Enforcers specialized for such scenarios, that would be cool world building.

Awesome war scene. They took inspiration from a lot of battles throughout history and movies. Vi running through the madness felt like the og and remake of All Quiet on the Western Front. The infantry looked “dug in” like trenches from WW1 The Noxians were advancing to a meat grinder like it’s Stalingrad I believe the Noxian formations looked like Zulu Bull Horns Cait in a bell tower and getting shot at by artillery like Saving Private Ryan Artillery being used overall Madarda having her own 300 moment Great scene
Noxus has the initiative as they had been planning for an invasion and Piltover was not. They also are inside many of Piltover's defenses, have an agent on the inside feeding them info as well as sabotaging their efforts. Noxus has more troops who are better trained for this style of combat and MUCH more experienced and some special equipment to use (bulletproof shields and such) that counter Piltover's main advantage. Noxus also has shipborne breach loading artillery while we don't see many, if any, Piltover guns and from earlier in the series they are old fashioned black power cannon and way out of date. Noxus had nearly every advantage against Piltover. Jinx and the Zaun forces only managed to do damage because they caught the Noxus forces by surprise and turned into a disorganized melee (Which oddly the Piltover troops probably would have handled better than the Noxus ones). sm
The story of that one Zaunite needs more attention. We see her leaving, ready to move on and let it all burn. But we see her turn around and enlist. Only to die fighting, who knows if she was able to die for something, or if she was just able to die. Wasnt expecting arcane to nail the "War is hell" point so well.
bro i was a big fan of the enforcers during season 1, i was hoping they would still be badass in season 2 but they were totally humiliated, yes i know they weren't the good guys in the story and noxus has great warriors but i was hoping they could have done more here, i don't think they even managed to kill a single noxus soldier (at least i didn't see any corpses on the ground) it hurts me that they were humiliated like that

I friggin LOVE how competent everyone is in this battle. Tho while I was wondering how the Noxians are winning against the Enforcers armed with guns while they rely on crossbows and more primitive close combat weapons. Thinking about it, Piltover is relatively peaceful, and Enforcers are mainly tasked with police work, meanwhile, Noxus and it's people is built on war and conquest, so they should have the better strategies and tactics built on superior battle experience. Tho having said that... I hate the face plates the Noxians wear for battle. The Enforcers can wear full body protection, but the best Noxian soldiers can wear for battle are face plates?
As it has be said before the enforcers are a police peacekeeping Force not equipped or trained to fight a conventional war while ambessas troops were brought up in a nation that values strength and the military each one was likely a veteran soldier with weapons and tactics that the enforcers just never had to deal with plus the soldiers enhanced by viktor just made it more difficult.
I felt they made Piltover TOO weak. Sure, I get it, noxians are warmongers and live for the battle, while Piltover only had like a police force. But still, we don't seem to see a single noxian soldier being killed or injured by an enforcer from Piltover (minus the main characters), and those hextech cannon things were useless. I would have preferred seeing them put up more of a fight
You know what I personally LOVE about this scenes? "I was recently reminded what brought us together in the first place, the enemy behind our walls" People from both top and bottom fight together, they try to help each other, they don't have even 1 bad interaction with each other this whole episode. Even the guy that hit Mel at ep1 was there too, they really ignored every bad thing happening between them to fight, just like Jayce said!

The reason hextech container launcher was almost useless: This weapon is mostly inspired by hexgate 1 noxus ships were heavly armored 2 slow reload rate 3 the launched objects werent tough enough even empowered with hextech magic to penetrate ships

noxus beat a magic victorian utopia with swords. took noxus shadow cabal and a bitch to make them leave. neither zaun nor piltover deserve to exist.
