So I gave it a thought now 'cause it's been an unproductive day anyways, so why not analyze a stranger whom I've never met, and... I think she's not tone deaf like some people say, it's just that she doesn't sing from her diaphragm, that's why it's always so quiet. And she's out of tune sometimes simply because she needs more practice - no big deal (And many of these songs just don't suit her natural voice). On stage she tries to sing from her diaphragm to be louder, 'cause everything else is really loud (and I bet people like sound technicians pressure her to do so "because it's normal way of singing, duh", as if they knew), but because this type of singing is her weak point she's even more out of tune then. Lately this "yelling" kind of singing is so popular that everyone forgot it's not "the only proper technique", and different types of vocals can be equally astonishing. Perhaps people should stop expecting her to be another Lovato or Aquilera 'cause it just limits her, they're too different. She's more like Lana Del Ray or Juliette Beavan (8mm) - expressive in a more subtle way - if I have to compare. (Do I have to compare?) I hope one day she'll just focus on her advantages and polish them so we could finally hear what she really sounds like. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, it doesn't really matters anyway. (: Cheers.
