Writing everything down is so essential for a large session like this. With all the moving parts in a big session the last thing you want to have to spend brainpower on is trying to remember which mic is on the hi hat and which input it plugs into and which preamp that goes into and which channel in the interface it goes into.
Those magnetic strips for the mic stands is genius, I'm gonna see about stealing your idea.

The Californian in me sees that mic wall and is instantly anxious about what would happen in an earthquake lol

Great as always! Being a lefty and having the spirals in the normal place instead of the top is absolutely terrible 😂all my notebooks are top spirals too🤘

Great vid, love hearing your thought processes and seeing your pre-session workflow. Quick question - the Vintech 573 for bass - is it better on bass than other 1073 clones (or an actual 1073')?

Different. It’s got a cleaner bigger low end. Which for bass I love. I have some 1073s and they are super close. But furrier in that low end.

great video. be careful about dust collecting on the mics stored on your shelves. digging the multi-bass trap barrier.

Remembering I suggested you try the re20 on hat and hearing you actually did it made me smile a bit, how’d you end up liking it?

always love your videos man! Which tube/stick light is that over by the vocal mic that shows up around 19:30 in the video?

I am very curious about the magnetic strips you mentioned because I have a problem of mic cable storage. Would you post a link to the product? Much appreciated.

I use hooks for the cables. But everything else is normally magnetic.
I got those at habir freight if your in the states. They are like $3 per strip. I bought like 10. I’m going to buy more.

Why do you need the Reddi and the vantech 573 if it is also a DI? Wouldn’t that introduce more noise having two DIs back to back?

How do you avoid dust issues with the mics in the open and on the wall?
