Can you share your camera settings for getting back button focus set up?

I want to clarify - you compose your image, manually move the focal point to the eye, focus, and then click the shutter? vs focusing and recomposing.

That’s exactly right!

I agree when using back button focusing.. Following Hope’s method, her first step was to compose, then she moved her focal point to the eye, used back button focus to focus on the eye and the press the shutter. If I am using a camera without back button focus capabilities, I still use my focal point to select the eye or main subject, press the shutter half way down to lock the focus, then recompose if necessary, press the shutter all the way down to take the photo. With practice, both methods are almost instantaneously.
