Fixing the cabin top - Kingfisher 30 Refit

- After removing the solar fan a while back it finally came the time to close the hole on the cabin top! Easier said than done! What looked like just a little patch became a much bigger task as I found water ingression and soggy paper and rags stuffed in between the cabin top and the inner lining.
Had to grind a lot more fiber to exposed the stringers too so that the plywood and glass fiber would be set on a stronger base.
All this while working in between shower spells and intense rain!

What the heck! Someone stuffed a rag in there? That's crazy! Thanks for producing this video showing us your repair. Much appreciated!
People never stop to amaze me! 😏
Great episode. Love the new channel.
Thank you Joel! 😉
Super work, Teo!
Thanks Ray!
Great job!!! Thank you for the video... Just gotta do the inside now...
Thanks you!
Did you dye the fairing compound or was it white to begin with? The brand of epoxy etc I use is a purple type colour. I'd prefer it to be white
This "fairing compound" is my mix of epoxy and micro balloons which are already white.
For small stuff I use the ready mixed Hempel compound which turns green after mixed but it's too expensive for larger areas.
Did you use polyester or epoxy on the fiberglass cloth?
Hey Ronan,
I never use Polyester on anything...
YOUR NOT THINKING MATE, use holes to upgrade /ie extractor humidity vents. come on captain.
There 6 Dorade/cowl vents on the cabins already. This hole was once used for a heater which I won't re install. No need for it here in Portugal!
