FAQ: Hey guys! There have a been a bunch of questions that are pretty much the same, and here's some solutions on how to solve them:
*make sure you have iPadOS 14 downloaded. It will not work with any version before*
Also, yes I realized that it's iPadOS not iPad iOS. Yes, I made a mistake, but the difference is basically iOS is for iPhones.
I can't get the widgets to "wiggle"
1. press down on the widget for 5 whole seconds
2. Try "wiggling" an app icon, and the side widgets will also wiggle
3. hold down on the widget and drag to the side, it will wiggle
I can't find the "+" symbol - it will appear AFTER you "wiggle" the widgets
1. it's in the TOP LEFT corner of the side widgets
2. make sure you have ios 14 installed
Is ios 14 available for my ___ device (e.g. iPad 6)?
1. the iPad Air 2 and later
2. all iPad Pro models
3. iPad 5th generation and later
4. iPad mini 4 and later
How do you get the widgets on the side?
1. settings > home screen & dock > select "More"
this will let you have the side widget bar and apps on the same page
How do I get the widgets on my Home Screen?
The iPad doesn’t support widgets on the Home Screen, only on the side bar
My picture stretches when I put in the photo - did some research/trial and I found the solution! The reason why it is stretched is because the width of the photo is too long (i.e. you are using a landscape photo). In all my photos, I used ones that had a shorter width and longer height.
1. crop the photo to a square and that should work
an illustration:

If u go to settings and choose reduce motion, you will go straight into the app without going to the shortcuts app first. and I think it reduces battery too :)) ✨✨

Blue cherries When you swipe across to the widgets, there is a little thing at the top of the widget board which asks you if you want to keep the widgets on the Home Screen. You just have to press on the little tick box next to it and it will turn green and then it will be on your Home Screen.

Svgar_Cxubes if you dont have it like me go to settings then home screen and dock and theres a selection of more or bigger then press more

For the app icons, I used to make them on ibis paint, but they would never turn out well, because I could center them perfectly on shortcuts, and everything was different sizes, so ty!
