Great video as always Scott. And congrats on the subs. This is my #1 favorite TH-cam watch. As far as the saw, no thanks lol. Not my cup of tea. I like the new saws. They run cleaner , lots of parts available too. I recently picked up a gently used Husky 543xp to go with my 545 and 550xp.
@@alans.4658 Thats up to you. Its just another saw in that mid size pro grade lineup. I think the 543 may be going away and as far as I know was the only "made in Japan" saw in the line up.
Congrats on the subs, well deserved. I like the older equipment. One of the reasons I’m so finicky. Wonder if epoxy could fix the plastic. I have an old sears-roper saw that has a broken reed hsg. Nothing I’ve found has worked yet.
Used to own a 51 Panhead that had a front motor mount that was completely broken off the case. Brother in law knew someone who was an aircraft mechanic, if memory serves, that Tig welded it back on and did a great job. I guess, worst case scenario, saw owner could do the same. 👍🍻
Congrats on 10k subscribers. Well deserved, roll-on 100k😅
Thanks for supporting the channel!
Awesome!!! A non-Husqvarna chainsaw repair video!!! Thank you Scott, love working on vintage saws and love watching videos on them.
Ya its been kinda like the broken husky channel lately. Thanks for watching!
I Love Working On Vintage Saws 😊😇😀 Nice Job Scott 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah love those old Poulan saws! Well done!
👍
Made my morning, favorite YT saw tech & one of my favorite firewood saws all rolled into one!
I'm glad to have started your morning on a positive note. Thanks for watching!
I've never seen a BIG poulan saw out here on the west coast. Cool!
It a big one all right. Thank for watching!
OMG-OMG-OMG, a REAL Poulan😎
Yep, made out of metal!

Old saws are cool but less cool to run. Nice mid-size line up of saws you have there! Have you seen the new 540xp mark III?
@@TheGreasyShopRag no I haven't.
Is it perhaps my next saw?

@@TheGreasyShopRag Does that mean the 340xp mk3 ( rear handle) is going also?
@alans.4658 No I don't think so.

What model is the sears roper?
@@TheGreasyShopRag I will check it out. Reason I brought it up was it has a reeds. The 4th I recreated out of shim stock. Thanks for asking
@@steveriggenbach90 Ya I don't see a lot of reed equipment lately.
@@TheGreasyShopRag model 917.353730. I need to find info like an ipl.

Thats true and if he screws it up he still has that donor saw. Hes not a collector. Its just his big saw.
I have the Craftsman ver. A 5.2 30 they are hard to find parts for as I need the front handle
Team green, love it! 10k👌

Cool old saw. Stories it could tell. Laaaaaater
I'd like to hear the story of how the crankcase was cracked.
Sounds like a 1977 Yamaha YZ80 that I had. That thing should be the centerpiece of somebody’s man cave.
I can tell you this saw is just used as the "big bar saw". It may not be the centerpiece of a man cave but I think its respected for what it is.
Which manufacturer has the most parts available for vintage saws?
Hih, thats a great question. I'm not sure.
Old saws very cool to collect better be able to fix yourself if your going to use them on regular basis where would I be with out spell check later!
Agreed. Thanks for watching!
Hello friends 😊
Thanks for visiting!
If isn't vintage saw I'm not buying it
Sounds like a good plan.
