Morgan said he's gonna fail at any moment. I don't see that happening. Sevendust has some of the most loyal fans out there. As long as they keep playing we'll be there
Without a doubt the most sobering and honest thing I've heard in years regarding the music industry and band chemistry in general, I've seen it all in over 35 years of playing in, trying to form and joining bands...asshole-itis as I call it has no age barriers. I now play for myself and the simple enjoyment, gave up on the band crap years ago as the same shit never changes....ever. And the cymbals don't suck either! Refreshing as hell interview!
@DouglasQuade lol. I'll wait for your covers to go up to see how much better you play. Oh wait you don't have any and are a nobody. Morgan sucks at drumming yet makes a living off of it. Nice.
Sabian, Morgan, and Sevendust keep progressing and getting better and better al the time. The new HHX's sound unreal and the latest Sevendust album is their best yet! Keep it coming my good people! All the best!
This guy right here beat the living shit out of those Pearls. I have had not one but two times to see this man put his all into Sevendust shows. Humble beginnings too.
I got to chat with Morgan for around 20 minutes after a show on the Seasons tour. He was a really nice, humble human being. It was right when he was switching from Tama to Pearl drums. We talked about that a bunch. So glad to see those guys still kicking tail out there. Super hardworking band and each album they release it consistently fantastic. Easily one of my favorite modern rock drummers.
This was one of the greatest drum equipment commercials I’ve ever seen. I am definitely going to listen to some Sevendust this weekend and check out Sabian cymbals next time I need a cymbal.
Loved these guys from day one… I worked in down town and used to park at the Tabernacle… on big concert days they would rope off the lot - one morning I saw all of these big red 18 wheelers, I asked who it was and they said “ our local boys SevenDust “ I purchased ticket and was just blown away, so proud of these guys.
Morgan changed how I approached playing and performing drums after seeing him for the first time and never hearing him before then. I love the band and Morgan's drumming is amazing!
Did a bunch of bands back in the day my first one outta high school was one of the best we opened for stp in vb and played a club Morgan used to play at all the time in Atlanta called the masquerade I also played at namm in CA , played the house of blues in South Carolina one of my favorite places is the house of guitars in Rochester NY, I'm just dad these days no more rock bands check out my low budget basement drum covers I don't put a lot of time into it these days
F’n love Morgan. I remember seeing him live when I was 16 yrs old and just absolutely blown away with his style and presence. Dude is a F’n G for life in my book.
Dudeee. A 1 hour episode would be freakin dope!! But Morgan gets super nervous in those situations though. He's more of an introvert than people think.
Saw Sevendust at the 96 or 97 Warped Tour I can't quite remember I was a little tuned up at that time I do recall meeting John and Clint and I got to pick from each of them and I briefly shook hands with Morgan but that was about it and they weren't given a lot of respect or at least at that show. I was one of the few people me and my friends who were upfront f****** just jamming out and I think they appreciated it considering they really weren't getting a great reception it was vandals Island New York. Down-to-earth legit cool motherfukers. Wish I had gotten to meet Vince and Lajon, but as a former guitar player with still dope as fuk meeting Clint and John. Sadly I can't play anymore due to neuropathy and a f*****-up shoulder but still Sevendust has nothing but respect for me man and after that they started getting a really good following. I can't recall if that show was right after home was released or right before but once I heard denial and of course Angel's Son later on I was walking hooked ever since. Work towards an interesting place especially when you're a hardcore metal head like me. You got Sevendust on a minor stage and you've got f*-*-***-*- Blink- 182 on like the main stage. Great times great memories thanks for keeping it up boys.
"Stiff Kitty" Wow. I am in disbelief. My band actually played a show with them in Duluth GA. Cracked me up when he said that name. It was dramacon for sure at the show. We were cracking up because they or Morgan had rented a uhaul just for the huge rack drum set so they wouldn't have to break that thing down.
yea.GUYS SO DOWN TO EARTH. seen tool in europe need to get my ass owerseas to seee 7D. After we can all just die. :p wait there is more bands. ah newermind.
They just destroyed the Roseland here in PDX with Static-X and Dope. He's in his 50's and can pound those skins like a gorilla. Not a big fan of their newer stuff, but I got to mee Lajon back in 2010 when they were touring for CDM and he was so cool. Home will be my favorite album forever. So glad he came back to Sabian!
Amazing to hear him say how much he sucked. I solidly put him in my category of best live drummers. Sevendust is an amazing live band, if not solidly top 10 live bands ever. I'd love to know his average of shredded snare heads per concert though. So far my count has him at 1.5 per show. He and Lajon smash vocals. You may dislike them, but you certainly can't dismiss them!!
Very nice stuff said on the Interview. Im more fan of Morgan than before. Nice to see that he searched for being sober. Thats really nice. Só Many good artist being held by drug addiction. And yeah. Its art. We don't need to be the best. There are more tecnical guys out there But fuck off. Im gonna do this. Thats the thought.
When did he say anything about being sober? He actually has a hard time playing multiple times during the video and says “happens every time we play Vegas before LA” alluding to the fact he drank too much the night before the video was shot. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
well... "I v seen people shoot heroine in my face and o bately seen weed in my life. People pushing neddles in their arma. I saw them open for creed in the late 90s and felt bad for creed because they literally punched them In the mouth. I was an Instant fan. One of the best live shows I’ve seen.
they are not upside down, it's a sick that does not have a traditional tip on it. both ends look like the bottom of aka the butt of the stick. he designed them that way. he used to play with normal sticks and when the tip would break off ed flip the stick "upside-down". He said when he designed is own stick, why not have both ends the same. He liked the bogger end of the stick, and he plays hard and was always breaking the tips off so why not get rid of the tip. The Alien Freak stick was born. here is a video by Morgan explaining it th-cam.com/video/wZfOkA_wG1Q/w-d-xo.html
I could tell you some stories alright lol even ones involving seven dust lol Morgan is no angel but I won't embarrass anyone lol I wasn't no saint either

NDFOOTBALL K, bye then.
@NDFOOTBALL I never heard of them. Going to research.
@@reemclaughlin4260 have you been living under a rock your whole life? Haha just kidding. Just type in Sevendust in TH-cam and listen to their music
@@reemclaughlin4260 You won't be disappointed.
His drumming is amazing...couldnt imagine sevendust without him..his fills are so wicked
mediocre at best
@@strabo1nah he's one of the most influential drummers right now
@@strabo1 You probably think Lars Ulrich is better. STFU dude you dont know anything.
Morgan is a cool dude lol gotta love his energy. Wish we got to see him do a full playthrough though.
There are TONS of full playthrough kids of Morgan here on TH-cam... You're welcome!!!
One of the best rockdrummers out today. So solid, his showmanship is on point. Just a super cool and humble dude. No rockstar attitude at ALL.

And the cymbals don't suck either!
Refreshing as hell interview!
@NDFOOTBALL L.A. ain't exclusive, but a contender.
This guy plays with his cymbals so freaking tight it’s insane!
I believe I heard recently that he goes through his main front 2 crashes every 4-5 shows.
Pantam Dreamscapes good thing he is sponsored!
But WHY...like its completely pointless. You’re just breaking the cymbals on purpose.
@DouglasQuade keep crying
@DouglasQuade lol. I'll wait for your covers to go up to see how much better you play. Oh wait you don't have any and are a nobody. Morgan sucks at drumming yet makes a living off of it. Nice.
Refreshing interview! Like his honesty! We musicians can totally relate. Cheers Tobi
"Start a band with cool guys not just the good musicians" wish id heard this advice 20 years ago. Comradery is important
Sabian, Morgan, and Sevendust keep progressing and getting better and better al the time. The new HHX's sound unreal and the latest Sevendust album is their best yet! Keep it coming my good people! All the best!

I love Morgan Rose!
What a cool fucking guy! Been following Sevendust since the start. Great band. Great interview.
A band full of acid heads is the best they are chill asf no fighting and everyone’s already killed their ego it’s just some free spirits jamming out
Yes
Great drummer, nice to hear him talk about life, music and all the other stuff that comes along.
Absolutely great guy! He actually produced and drummed on the last 2 songs my band put out, and the one about to come out!
Sevendust, my favorite band of all time and this guy is a large reason why.
Its hard to imagine Sevendust without Morgan.
This was one of the greatest drum equipment commercials I’ve ever seen. I am definitely going to listen to some Sevendust this weekend and check out Sabian cymbals next time I need a cymbal.
Sevendust for life. Morgan is such an incredible drummer, as we know. Funny as hell too.

Morgan Rose el mejor estilo que he visto 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😎😎🌹
Morgan is incredible. Totally has his own signature as well as high skill level, which is rare.
Morgan Rose is so cool. Absolutely is unapologetically himself, and you can hear that when he plays

Cool hearing him talk about John Frusciante. John is an influential guitarist and Morgan is an influential drummer:)
Where's the full video for this? Anyone have it or is it uploaded somewhere on Sabian?
Been a fan since I found a CD in my Mom's car circa year 2000.... Thanks Mom, and thanks Morgan

A true icon drummer in a awesome band
Que gran artista!!! Un gran poder al tocar!!!!
Tengo una consulta.... alguna vez subirán un video de algun baterista latino?
Great interview dude....Stiff Kitty....when I met you🤣
I love his style
He’s one of my biggest influences. It’s sobering to see that he too, once felt insecure and lost as a musician. Inspiring
Jeff Porcaro was his teacher! Damn... Porcaro was just awesome
He said Joe Porcaro, Jeff's dad.

Yeah I agree with Morgan on just being you as a drummer. Playing the drums in your own style and expression if that makes sense🔥
Underrated!!!

Close to a year ago now. He switched right before starting the tour for the album All I See Is War. Literally like a week before.
BEAST !!!
Such a solid drummer!
I love his set up. Low profile, very flat. Exactly how my kit is set up. Morgan seems like such a cool, down to Earth guy.
