Good thing im a concrete guy got 1/2 inch bar at work for free. Shout out to the guy who said to bend a right angle at the top definitely gonna follow that advice thanks for the vid.
I use rebar and duct tape don't waste money on clamps. Also let the rear stick up a half inch above the pipe that way you can use a hammer to drive it into hard ground . When your done fishing use the hammer to hit the rebar at ground level and you can pull it right out.
Love the video! Great tips. I myself got sick and tired of thous cheap 2$ Walmart rod holders. When I make mine like your I’m just gonna spray some glow in the dark paint
Great idea! I made some sand spikes for bank fishing but they are hard to use in anything but sand and soft dirt! I am definitely going to make some of these now. Try taking a torch or heat gun to the end where the rod goes in and then use a glass bottle to round out the edges. Makes it easier to get the rod in and out of the holder!
In metalwork at school we had to cut like 5/6 inch steel rod and we did not use masks, probably because we are just such bloody loose c@$ts here in New Zealand
For sandy beach fishing I cut a thick PVC pipe by 45 degrees on the bottom and use a whole pipe [no metal]. For pebbles you may have to go with a very long piece of rebar, or solid steel piping.
And, the mask is not required either.. cutting plastic pipes (pvc/ pp , pe etc) for years without having the problem getting any small particles out of the sawing. If you use a pipecutter it will cut right and without any particles

the absolute simplicity of the project is almost in itself perfection.
My friend and I wanted to make some rod holders as a day project but didn't know how. Thank you so much!
Good video... I like this because it's not too difficult to break down later if needed.
You can buy 1/2" rebar at Lowe's. 1/2" rebar is stronger than the mild steel round bar and it is cheaper.
DWeezy62 great idea man. thanks!
If you bend a 2" right angle at the top end you can hammer the holder in and use as a handle to pull it out without loosening the pvc.
True that! Awesome tip Jeff, thanks for watching
Thx dude 😂👍
Dis the best tutorial pvc holder fishing
Appreciate it my guy! Tight lines
Made 4 of them two for me one my brother to test.thanks for the tip.
Awesome man! Glad I could assist.

As an experienced plumber I would use a pipecutter or a regular saw to cut the PVC

Not bad idea, I'm still going with clamps but rebar is a good other option. Gotta go thin diameter tho to wedge it into harder rocky ground.
Good stuff man, I just spent $10 on some rod holders and I had all the stuff to make them in my garage. Dang, should have watched this last week!
Hahaha, well I guess YOU'RE WELCOME Chris... ;)

You know I was thinking about doing that. Good looks!
Maybe someday we could fish the potamic! I've been wanting to since I've been watching your videos!

Really good info and video. Fish on!
Thank's brother! Tight lines

“Sir you’ve now poked the second person in the eye fitting your pole to pvc pipes, we’re going to have to ask you to leave” 😂
Awesome video and rod holder. Do you think I could cut out a notch for the reel in the front of the holder.
PGH Bottom Feeders that is what I did on ones I made that are similar to these.
Big Cat River Fishing Awesome do you have a video on how you made yours
I do not, but maybe soon!
I'm sure you could, but I wouldn't do it personally.
Great video man!
Thanks buddy!
That’s exactly what we use in Hawaii.
Sweet 👊😎
Cheap and Easy! Time to head to Dome Depot! Thanks for sharing. #PHATOUTDOORS
Glad I could help, thanks for watching and tight lines my man!

Thanks bud!
Get longer pvc put angle on it drive it in ground
Dont you have tripods in the states .?
✌
Every time you say flathead screwdriver my head snaps up
Max Anderson hahaa, that's great

Ha Ha... hillarious. I just always play it safe bud. If I lose an eye I'd have to lean to one side and night fishing would be tough
Is it 2" pvc or 1.5 ?
I usually go minimum 2" so I can fit small and bigger rods into it
How do you make 1 for a sandy/stony beach???
For sandy beach fishing I cut a thick PVC pipe by 45 degrees on the bottom and use a whole pipe [no metal]. For pebbles you may have to go with a very long piece of rebar, or solid steel piping.
What size is that pvc
Probably 1 1/2 inch.
2:12 is where you want to be in this video ... you're welcome
Good looks
What's up Buddy out fishing today crossing the DC fishmarket landed 52 pound blue catfish
LOVE IT brother! Congratulations. I'll be back in town on Monday hopefully. Let's see if I can slay a pig too ;)
I just get some sharp pvc pipe and hammer it into the ground😂
Hahaha
How
why can't you use them on the beach.. I use them all the time
I use just PVC without the metal on the beach, especially when shark fishing. Cut it on an angle and you're set.
sorry about your audio troubles with the last vid
all good, got it figured out for next time

Gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. I just wanted to play it safe lol
Kevin's Catterman Adventures no problem, this video helped me though and I am happy you made it! :)
@@KristoMOfficalGamingChannel thanks a bunch my man. That means a lot! 😁 Glad you got some use out of the video.

Do u have Facebook so we can pm ?
Thumbs ☝️👍👍⬆️⬆️
Yee Yee!
when I used to bait fish I made rod holders out of pvc pipe zip ties & rebar they sucked lol
oh man, well I think once you start using zip ties it's all down hill from there Ha Ha
Kevin's Catterman Adventures yea I know lol I was only 13 anyway didn't have money to buy stuff that often I usually used to hold my pole lol
The good old days lol
Try gorilla duct tape Homer it works great, won't slip up and down like zip ties.
Take a knife and you can clean out the PVC.
True that. Or heat the end up as well as a glass bottle and then push it into the opening to widen it.
